Hydrocodone And Morphine

Hello, I know someone who is prescribed Hydrocodone-- 10mg-325 acetaminophen mg and Morphine-15mg. This person said on a "good day" they take 60mg of hydrocodone which would be 1950 mg acetaminophen as well as the 30 mg of morphine a day- again on a good day. I do not know much about all of this- so my question is- how dangerous is this? Thanks for all your help! ## It being dangerous, or not, depends on the person and their tolerance to opiates. If they have been taking them for awhile and their doctor has prescribed them this way, things are most likely fine. The biggest issue with the medications and amounts you've mentioned would actually be due to the Acetaminophen. Help. I need to know if I took too much medicine this morning on pain pills. I usually take one 10 mg 325 hydrocodone plus one morphine 15 er every morning around 8:30. This morning was my time to change my weekly, well fill my weekly meds in my daily a.M. And p.M. And I was changing the way I take my meds as I also take about 5 different meds at around noon each day. So I was combining the morphine and hydrocodone and the other meds from at 11 in my dailies to take each morning at 8:30. I put my morphine and my adderall in the morning regimen and then with my other meds and when my afternoon pills came along I took those, and about a half an hour after I started feeling weird. I usually take 1-3 10/500 hydrocodone pills a day. I recently Ran out and have 60 mg morphine. I have never taken morphine pills.. had it iv in hospital a few times. Should I take it to ease the pain or what should I expect. How do Hydroc7.5 compare with 30 MG Morphine SUL in strength& and action? ## Actually these are considered to be almost the same, so they are normally converted on a 1 to 1 dosage, so 7.5mgs of Hydro would be equal to 7.5mgs of Morphine, so with the 30mgs, you are taking almost 3 times as much.

My wife is a chronic pain patient. Today she went to have her periodic office visit with her pain management physician. She has, for several years, been prescribed fentanyl transdermal patches, 75 mcg/hour, along with hydrocodone/apap 10/325, 1 or 2 tablets every 8 hours, PRN for breakthrough pain. She changes the patches every 72 hours. Today the Dr changed her treatment regimine changing the fentanyl to 100 mcg/hrs, changing patch every 48 hours. He took her off the hydrocodone/apap, and said if she still has breakthrough pain, that he will prescribe immediate release morphine to replace the hydrocodone/apap. I am perscribed morphine hydrocodone somas and xanex. My question is this. Has anyone ever had really wierd side effects off of this combo? I have hallucinated a couple times. I have been taking 5 hydrocodone 10 / 325 mg for about 8 years, my body has adjusted to this so it has not been working as well as it used to. My doctor has now prescribed me morphine ER 15 mg every 12 hours and hydrocodone 10 / 325 4 times a day. for 3 years my dr. was prescribing me three 60mg morphine sulphate er and four 30mg ms ir daily. when it became impossible to get MS in Florida, he switched me to Fentanyl patch 12MCG/HR every 3 days and 7.5mg-200 hydrocordone , 1 every 8 hours. the pain was unbearable and I felt terrible. cold sweats, shakes, could'nt think straight. when I asked him to increase dosage, he increased the patch to 25 MCG, but said there was more MS in the 7.5-200 hydrocodone than the 30mg tabs of ms. do you agree? I have had multiple back surgeries and have severe nerve damage and further disc issues in thoracic and neck. Been in PM for over 10 years and took many years to come up with combination that worked for me. He retired and sent to new doc who dropped me 3 months later after i expressed concern over being able to afford the treatment route of MRIs and surgeries. I've been taking 10/325 hydrocodones × 5 per day for a couple of years for pain then the laws changed and, my Dr. prescribed me 1, 30 mg. Kadian cr per day for pain, the hydrocodone kinda helped for pain but i never was fully pain free. Just wanted ask how the new prescription would be better or should I ask for something else. Drowsiness is a very common side effect of all narcotic drugs, the longer you are on this dosage, the more your body should get used to it and the side effects should taper off. Unfortunately, if you are like me, then they never entirely taper off and you may have to fight drowsiness as long as you have to take narcotics. I have been on Morphine and Oxycodone, without changing the dosage, for several years now and I still have to fight drowsiness everyday. I had seen six doctors that all misdiagnosed my condition and finally one got it right but the insurance company wouldn't pay for any type of treatment other than pain management, so I have been taking different types of medication for a few years now for two bulging discs, degenerate disc disease, and sciatica. I need to know what they put in this medication that has my U/A coming up positive for morphine and oxycodone. I dont understand because I dont take these two drugs. I asked a pharmacist and was told its against the law for her to answer the question and that sounds like the worst lie I ever heard.
