I have had a fever ranging from 100.5 to 102.0 for just over 24 hours. Fever went away and felt great all day today. But came back this evening. My body aches so bad and cannot get comfortable or fall asleep! I took a hydrocodone 5/325 an hour ago and my temp is still up. Is it OK to take a 500mg naproxen? I NEED SLEEP! ## They can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves. Some people do take both, or alternate them to get better control of pain, or fevers. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Are you on any other medications?

I have really bad back pain and was wondering if you can use hydrocodone acetaminophen 5325 TB for it. And if I can does it have aspirin? ## dwayne yes it is for pain and no it does not have aspirin in it ## What other joint relievers can I use for my back. That I can find over the counter. ## dwayne try aleve, same as naproxen it is over the counter and i find it better than ibuprofen-motrin, you may also try a magnesium supplement, try a bath with 1 cup epsom salt and some sports alcohol to the bath, i know this sounds simple but it works great. the epsom salt has magnesium in it and is absorbed thru the skin when put in the bath, just an old grandma remedy that still works great today. ## @Dwayne, As a former college athlete I can vouch for an Epsom Salt bath being effective for back...

Is hydrocodone 10/325 and naproxen sodium 220 mg ok to take together? ## Hello, Kate! How are you? I'm sorry, to prevent spam posts, the site administrator/owner has set a limit on the number of characters that must be typed, in order to submit a post. And yes, they can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves. The U.S FDA warns that Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've been taking hydrocodone post knee surgery, but it wears off quickly. Can I supplement with Aleve in between doses?

I've seen Naproxen and have been told Vicodin has this imprint as well. Are Naproxen and Vicodin the same? ## Naproxen and Vicodin are two very different pain medications. To my understanding, the similarities found in the imprint are just a sign that they had been manufactured or redistributed by the same company (Amneal Pharmaceuticals). The IP 190 500 tablet contains Naproxen 500mg (NDC 65162-0190); a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Ref: DailyMed The IP 109 tablet contains Vicodin (Acetaminophen 325mg + Hydrocodone 5mg); which is a combination of two types of pain medicine - Hydrocodone being an opiate narcotic pain reliever. (NDC 53746-109): Ref: DailyMed Hope this helps! ## You are probably confused because the markings are similar. Generic Norco 5/325mg (Hydrocodone/a...

Can I take naproxen 440 mg & hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 tb & 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine together? I fell down the stairs and have tremendous back spasms when I move at all. Thanks. ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there is a high interaction potential between Cyclobenzaprine and Hydrocodone, which states that taking the two together may increase your risk of certain side effects (such as: loss of balance, dizziness, slurred speech, confusion, changes in mental awareness & slow or shallow breathing). They go on to note that if the two medications are deemed to be required, your doctor may adjust the dosage and/or frequency of dosing in order to lessen these risk factors. I hope this info helps and that you get aro...

I'm in so much pain right now and I took a naproxen about 6 hours ago(which unfortunately hasn't helped) and I also have a script for norco. Is it ok to take the norco now? ## Hi Princess02, Sorry to hear about your pain. From what I could gather, there aren't any drug interactions listed between Naproxen and Norco (hydrocodone + acetaminophen). And with that said I don't have any real reason to believe that it isn't ok to use them together. However this is not to say that their own individual side effects are any less of a risk. So if you do happen to experience bothersome symptoms (knock on wood) I would still encourage you to contact your doctor just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps! ## Hydrocodone and Naproxen are often prescribed together. ## It's tru...

IP 190 with a divided line on the back of the pill is hydrocodone 5mg with 500mg acetaminophen. Definitely similar to the naproxen IP 190 with 500 on the other side. ## The tablet with the IP 190 500 marking is 500mgs of Naproxen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The other tablet has the marking of IP 109 and it is a generic for Vicodin that contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The two different imprints have been confused here on other threads.

I'm researching pain meds for my knee pain after a replacement. ## Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Naproxen is the generic name for Aleve, The difference is that Aleve is OTC because it is only 220 mg and Naproxen is prescription because it is 500 mg. Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and tylenol. Hydrocodone is a narcotic and can be addicting. You must have a prescription to get Vicodin. ## @original post, No, Naproxen is not stronger than Vicodin. Although it could probably compare to the acetaminophen in Vicodin, the hydrocodone is still a far more potent pain reliever in and of itself. If you're unsure of which medication to take for pain relief, I think it would be wise to ask your doctor/surgeon for their opinion on what might be most appropriate for y...

I keep seeing IP 190/500 as being naproxen but this is not what I am looking for.I want to know what a long white pill with IP 190 on 1 side and NOTHING AT ALL on the other side is.It`s supposed to be hydrocodone 7.5 (not sure how many mg`s of acetaminophen) but was told it has 7.5 mg`s of hydrocodone ## I can't tell you what it is because I honestly don't know but I can tell you that it is absolutely not a 7.5/500 hydrocodone (or any other 7.5 hydrocodone mix). I've had them and seen them all, having been on hydrocodone for 20 years and none looked like that. Wish I could tell you more. ## Angie, do you happen to know where it's from? I'm not finding a listing for anything with just the IP 190 on it, either, however, this doesn't necessarily mean that it is or i...

I have a large, very painful hemangioma on my S1. I have been given hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10-325,ibuphrophen 800 mg, gabapentin, 300 mg and Tizanidine 4 mg which helps. Over the weekend, I have run out of Tizanidine and am in a lot of pain, also the sciatica is the worst. I was wondering if I could take naproxyn 500 mg to see me through the two days. ## Can Naproxyn be taken instead of Tizanidine? ## Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory and should Not be taken if you're taking ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory drugs. Tizanidine is a muscle relaxer. ## @Shirley, If you're considering an alternative to the Tizanidine (muscle relaxer) for those times when you run out, I think it might be a good idea to look into research on effective doses of Valerian root which is also revere...

Online this morning, there were a ton of hydrocodone images and this is one that did appear. what do you think about that? just curious if it is really hydrocodone or naproxen ## Hello, Nicki! How are you? This is definitely a 500mg Naproxen tablet. This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. It may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Learn more Naproxen details here. As to what I think of that, I think it's very common for such errors to be made, mainly by lay people that aren't familiar with medications and don't know how to check and see what a pill actually contains. Many people just assume that any large, oblong tablet must be Vicodin (Hydrocdone/Acetaminophen), because they...

I am currently taking vicoden for knee replacement surgery...is there any OTC pain med to take that would be similar? Thank you! ## Not in the U.S. Vicodin contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic and there are none available over the counter in the U.S. The strongest medications for pain that are available over the counter in the U.S. are the basic nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen. Have you tried discussing it with your doctor?

After six hours of taking hydrocodon-acetaminophen5-325 can I switch to Naproxin 500mg in order to drive safely, or should I wait longer? ## Hello, Rose! How are you? How is the Hydrocodone affecting you? Is it making you dizzy, drowsy, or making you feel high? If so, you definitely won't want to be driving, while feeling like that. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause other side effects, such as nausea, dry mouth and constipation. Otherwise, you should be able to switch, if your doctor approves. However, Naproxen is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it likely won't alleviate your pain as much. Typical side effects of it may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is the...

large white oval pill, line down middle on one side with MIA 108 on same side ## i found a bottle marked hydrocodone 5/500 i looked inside and found a white oval pill marked MIA 108 the date on the bottle was 1994, so my assumption is that these are just really really old hydros ## That is correct, MIA 108 contains 500mgs of Acetaminophen and 5mgs of Hydrocodone, a generic for Vicodin or Lortab, this is a narcotic pain reliever. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You can read more here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## large white oval pill with line down middle and number 1/08 on it and the other side has imprint of RDY ## Curious, RDY 108 contains 550mgs of Naproxen, the active ingredient in Naprosyn, this is a nonsteroidal a...

multi colored capsule with L 5 marking, the 'L' side is red , the '5' side is sky blue, the center is grey ## I have two pills with the following number ID on them: G 32 and M 357. They are both pain pills I think. Can you identify them for me? ## The L5 from the orignal post is a generic or store brand of Tylenol Rapid Release containing 500mgs of Acetaminophen, a commonly used pain reliever and fever reducer. Gp46 are there any other markings on the G32 and what color is it? If it is an off-white or pinkish, it more than likely contains Naproxen Sodium, a generic for Naprosyn, but the dosage depends on the other numbers on the tablet, as they denote the milligrams it contains. M 357 contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, this is a generic for Vicodi...

I am going through therapy for my back and need spine surgery. I have been taking percocet for the past year now and my Dr wants to change my medication. He suggested something that starts with the letter N but didnt spell it right for me. Does anyone know of pain medication that starts with that letter. Not Naproxen, it's not an anti inflammitory ## It's supposed to be for nerves. ## Probaly Neurontin which is used to ease nerve pain. ## Or maybe Norco ## Those would be my best guesses, as well, since they are both used to treat pain, just in different ways. Neurontin is an anticonvulsant that's also been shown to help with nerve pain, it contains the active ingredient Gabapentin. And Norco contains the active ingredients Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, so it's a narcoti...
