Saw a new ortho surgeon. Was taking Hydrocodone/Acetamenaphine 10-325. For lower back pain. He said "oh no, Don't take that!" and presribed Tramadol 50 mg. Why? ## Because it can be highly addictive. Also it is going to go from a Schedule III to a Schedule II, Oct 6, 2014. That means no refills, it can't be called in and you must see your dr at least every 90 days. Even though Tramadol can also be addicting, the risk isn't as great. Tramadol became a Schedule IV Aug 18, 2014. ## Hello, Pete! How are you? Your doctor may also be concerned about the Acetaminophen, taking it for a long time creates the risk of liver damage or failure. I am trying to find out how many Tylenol codein 300-30 I would need to take to be equilivant to Norco 10-325 ? I have had a different prescription and I want to make sure I am not over doing the codein ## Hello, Ruth! How are you? Each 30mgs of Codeine is equivalent to 4.5mgs of the Hydrocodone, so taking one Norco 10/325 is actually over twice as strong. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Male 210lbs - takes whatever whenever, but is taking over a dozen hydrocodone-apap 10mg/325mg pills in 24 hours. Is that bad? What's bound to happen?...What if he takes oxycodone 15mg also? ## Hello, From what I am seeing, daily consumption of hydrocodone should not exceed 40 milligrams in patients not tolerant to opiates. The PDR from 2006 states that Norco 10, containing 10 milligrams of hydrocodone and 325 mg of APAP (Acetaminophen) can be taken at a dosage of up to twelve tablets per day (120 mg of hydrocodone). This restriction is only limited by the fact that twelve tablets, each containing 325 mg of APAP (Acetaminophen), puts the patient right below the 24-hour FDA maximum of 4,000 mg of APAP. Some specially compounded products are routinely given to chronic pain patients in ...

One contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone with the 325mgs of Acetaminophen, while the other contains only 7.5mgs of it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. This tablet contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, it is a generic for Norco. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How much of the red liquid hyrdrocodone 325\5 mg would equal to three 1,000s norcos? ## Each teaspoons equals hydrocodone 5 mg /acetaminaphen 325 mg. ## Hello, Ashley! How are you? What BL has stated is correct, unless the label specifies otherwise. As to the Norco you mentioned, there is no Norco available that contains 1,000mgs of anything. The maximum dosage currently available on the market contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Norco was actually the name brand for a lower dose of this analgesic combination, so if you were taking it, then you were most likely taking 5/325mgs. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth an...

Are there any pain meds made with a 500mg of acetaminophen & 10mg of hydrocodone or oxycodone ect ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? Lortab, Lorcet, Norco and Vicodin were all brand names for medication combinations that contained Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. There are none that contain more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dose, now. The ones with the higher amounts were all removed from the market. That includes the Oxycodone combinations, as well as all other combination prescription drugs that contain Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How much hydrocodone is in a does of 5 ml hydrocodone bitarate cough syrup? Is it the same as taking a 7.5 norco tablet? ## Hello, Granny! How are you? It can vary, depending on the prescription. What dosage is listed on the label? Usually, it will have something such as 7.5/5ml or something similar that lets you know how much is in each teaspoon. Can you please post back with this information, so I can help you? Thanks! The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Oh my, I didn't realize it was that strong! i take norco 10/325 and wonder is there a stronger hydrocodone pill such as 15/325 ## No, the maximum amount currently available on the market is 10mgs of Hydrocodone. The only way to get a higher dosage than that is if your doctor specially orders it and it is put together for you by a compounding pharmacy. Hydrocodone is a potent narcotic and is rarely given in higher doses. Usually, when someone isn't getting the pain relief they need from it, they move on to something else, such as Percocet, which contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. It is still a narcotic and can cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## Try not to go up to percet. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it does have the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Learn more Vicodin details here. And to add an additional note for anyone that may be viewing this post at a later date… The FDA has requested that the amount of Acetaminophen in all of the prescription combination medications that combine it with a narcotic be lowered to a maximum of 325mgs. my doctor gave me a prescription for norcos 10's. when I went to the pharmacy they gave me a yellow oblong pill with 170 on one side and nothing on the other. They told me it was norco 10. did they make a mistake ## If it has 170 on it, is oblong & yellow it is Hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg. It does not have Hydrocodone 10 mg in it. Instead it has Hydrocodone 7.5 mg. ## The identification provided is correct. NDC: 57664-0170 The FDA wants that Norco carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. What Is Better: Watson Lorcet 10 Or Norco10/325 - And What's The Difference? ## If the dosage is the same, then the only difference is who has manufactured it. Are there any other questions? ## my doctor had me on lorcet 10/650 and change to lorcet 10/325 what's the different are they the same?I had three back surgery ## The only difference is the amount of acetaminophen contained in each pill. I had been taking Hydrocodone 5-500 (Vicodin) many years at the same dose when this drug was discontinued an replaced with the 5-325 (Norco) strength. I am still taking the same number of pills daily but after about three months I just do not feel like the new pills control the pain as well as the previous ones did. I know there is not supposed to be any different between the two other than the amount of acetaminophen is there anything else that might effect how the medicine is absorbed and how quickly it is? Any ideas would be appreciated, thx. ## Jerry, when you have a heneric, the amount of active ingredient may vary, the fillers also vary and this can make one slightly stronger or weaker than the other. If I'm taking Norco 10/325 mg how many pills can be taken in a 24 hour period? ## everywhat the doseage, the Dr. recommends, if you need a increase speak with him about it ## To add some specifics… It is actually the Acetaminophen in these that causes most of the problems related to overdose toxicity, rather than the narcotic Hydrocodone. It isn't safe to exceed 4,000mgs a day, taking more than that may be fatal and, even if you don't suffer fatal effects, you could cause severe liver damage, or go into liver failure. It is often thought to be extremely safe, since it's available over the counter in most countries, but Acetaminophen can actually be a very dangerous substance if used improperly. How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. The amount of Acetaminophen is lower and since it augments the action of the Hydrocodone, the new pill isn't going to be as strong as the old one was. Learn more Norco details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. My Dr switched me from Norco 10/325 to 1/2 15 mg ir Morphine Sulfate... So basically 7.5. Am I going to go thru Norco withdrawal? Is 7.5 higher than Norco 10? I so do not want to be in more pain. She started me at 7.5 to see how I tolerate it. Thanks. ## Norco contains Acetaminophen, and Hydrocodone, Morphine and Hydrocodone generally convert on a 1 to 1 basis, so 10mgs of one equals 10mgs of another. She has started you lower to see how you do on the Morphine, and you may find that it works better for you than the Norco. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. Ref: Morphine Information How has worked for you, so far? Are you on any other medications?
