I have the worst neck pain. I think it is from sleeping wrong. I have a prescription for the hydrocodone acetaminophen 10 325 tab for a hip pain months ago. I took one pill today and it did nothing. Never worked for hip pain either. Can I take 2. I have to sleep tonight. I will go to doc tomorrow. ## Hi Millie, Sorry to hear about your neck pain. I hope you've managed to find some sort of relief since you posted this thread. As far as double dosing is concerned, no one but your Dr. can legally tell you what is or isn't safe for you to take, based on their clinical evaluation. I will go so far as saying that I know people who have done this and didn't have a problem with the additive effects from doing so... But everyone reacts and responds to these drugs differently, so in s...

I use it for pain relief after lumbar spinal fusion for L5-S1. My pain is in the right leg this time and is worse at night. Why doesn't the med relieve pain at night ## Hi Lil, Sorry to hear about your challenges with pain management. From your description, it sounds to me like you may just require a stronger medication overall, or possibly something else that can be used as an adjunctive therapy to what you're already taking for pain relief. In either case, this is something best discussed with your doctor or health-care provider, who can suggest and offer other types of treatment options for you during those peak hours of worsening pain. The increased pain at night could simply be an indication that you're beginning to build up a tolerance to this medication's effects....

I am super scared... I have taken a total of 17 hydrocodone 10/300 today. I read (afterward) that 90mg of hydrocone is lethal. I have tried to make myself vomit to get the last pills out, but I cant tell if what is coming up is a dissolved pill or just mucus. I dont want to die!! I dont know what to do. Going to a hospital is not an option, I have children sleeping & no one tp watch them..... ## Hey I'm here :/ ## You need to get checked out for side effects of taking too much Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Anything over 4,000 in a 24 hr period can be toxic. You won't immediately feel the side effects of this, but you do need to get checked out. ## To the user who started this thread, I strongly agree with post #2 in that you should get your levels checked to make sure you don't...

I am recovering from back surgery and have the generic Norco 10-325. They have not been effective in the dosage of 1 every 6 hours. My problem is at night when the dull ache keeps me from sleeping. What is the effect of taking2 at night before I go to sleep ## Hello, Batman! How are you? You shouldn't raise your dosage, without your medical provider's approval. If you aren't opiate tolerant, that may be too high of a dosage for you. Have you informed them of the problem, yet? The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

My Dr changed me from 10-325 to 5-325 because I broke the pill on half. The 10's were barely working. He said they did not appear in my metabolites. I called him out on this bc he must have lied. I never missed any dosages. I think he was wrong. ## Hello, Georgette! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. If you were only taking half of the prescribed dosage, then the amount might have been lower than it should have been and, in some cases, that's treated the same as it not being detected, at all. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is he still prescribing the lower dose for you? ## Well, I was on hydrocodone 10/325. I have chronic neck...

Male 210lbs - takes whatever whenever, but is taking over a dozen hydrocodone-apap 10mg/325mg pills in 24 hours. Is that bad? What's bound to happen?...What if he takes oxycodone 15mg also? ## Hello, From what I am seeing, daily consumption of hydrocodone should not exceed 40 milligrams in patients not tolerant to opiates. The PDR from 2006 states that Norco 10, containing 10 milligrams of hydrocodone and 325 mg of APAP (Acetaminophen) can be taken at a dosage of up to twelve tablets per day (120 mg of hydrocodone). This restriction is only limited by the fact that twelve tablets, each containing 325 mg of APAP (Acetaminophen), puts the patient right below the 24-hour FDA maximum of 4,000 mg of APAP. Some specially compounded products are routinely given to chronic pain patients in ...

is there a pain medication with ibuprofen that is stronger than the acetaminophen? ## Hello, Deloris! How are you? Yes, there is one called Vicoprofen that's available as the name brand and generic that contains Ibuprofen, rather than Acetaminophen. It isn't necessarily stronger, but it does work better for some people. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. To me... ## They are manufactured by Sun Pharmaceuticals and they list them as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, constipation, dry mouth, and dizziness. I have severe stabbing pain in my shoulder. When the pain starts my blood pressure shoots to 220/140 with a 133 pulse. I was prescribed Hydrocodone and sometimes if I don't get a severe attack it works. If I have a big attack I have Dilaudid prescribed as well. Which is easier on body? Tylenol 3 or hydroco/acetaminop 5-325 ## Hello, Hunter! How are you? Since they both contain Acetaminophen, neither is really any easier on the body, they both carry the same risks of possibly causing liver damage. As to pain relief, the Hydrocodone is far more potent and effective than the Codeine in the Tylenol 3. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## which is stronger-hydrocodone 7.5 325 or hydrocodone 5 325 ## Hi there! Hydrocodone 7.5/325 is stronger than Hydrocodone 5/325. I was taking hydrocodon 10-325 and now my dr switched me to Percocet 10-325 and when I take it it puts me to sleep for hours and keeps me drowsy all day is this what it is suppose to do when my other hydrocodone didn't do this to me I was able to stay active and alert and do my daily duties. ## Hello, Ricky! How are you? The Oxycodone in the Percocet is actually stronger than the Hydrocodone, so what you're taking now is more potent, which is likely why it's making you drowsy. How long have you been taking it? It should improve after about 4 weeks or so, once your body adjusts to the medication. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I get constipated from...

Which is better to take for relieving pain from a pinched nerve (hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325mg or ibuprofen 100mg)? ## They really aren't comparable, to be honest. Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, while Ibuprofen is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The FDA warns that Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Which one has your doctor instructed you to take?

I been taking 10-325 now I ran out but I still have 7.5-325 left can I take then even tho I been on other ones is there a difference ## Hello, Blondie! How are you? From what you've listed, the only difference is the dosage, the 7.5mg is not as strong, but you should be able to take it, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I take one tablet of hydrocodone/apap 5-352 mg, but when I go to bed and wake up in 4 hours I can't get back to sleep. Can I take an advil pm to help me to get back to sleep? ## Hi Norma, According the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there is a high interaction potential reported between hydrocodone and the diphenhydramine in zzzquil / advil PM, stating that combining them may increase your risk of certain side effects such as: "loss of balance or dizziness, slurred speech, feeling confused, experiencing changes in mental awareness, or slow / shallow breathing." They go on to note that if adjunctive treatment is required, your doctor may adjust the dosage and/or frequency of dosing in order to mitigate any possible risk of side effect...
