Just wondering if this was a typo..7.5/500? All I can find is 7.5/650 and 750. I know it is generic Vicodin but am worried about the directions saying take 1 or 2 when the previous script was for 5-500 and only was directed as take 1... I do not want to take more than before...5-500 was more than enough,.. Need to know if I should break in half..... ## Can you provide the imprint from the tablets? Including all letters, numbers, and/or logos? Then I can double check the dosage for you and the normal dose taken. NO EXPIRATION DATE ON FULL BOTTLE. GIVEN TO MY MOTHER FOR CHRONIC PAIN. DOES NOT TAKE AS OFTEN AS IT WAS PRESCRIBED FOR. HOW LONG SHOULD SHE KEEP THIS BEFORE IT HAS LOST IT EFFECTIVENESS. THERE IS NO EXPIRATION DATE ON THE PRESCRIPTION AND THIS CONCERNS ME. ## A pharmacy or hospital always dispenses these with a one year expiration date from the date of the prescription. In addition, these types of medications do not turn dangerous after the expiration date, they simply start to break down and lose effectiveness, so even if it is past the year, they may be less effective, but still safe to use. (Please note, this does not apply to all meds, there are some exceptions that can become dangerous after their expiration!)
