Is it safe to take Hydroco Apap 10-325 mg when taking Cumadin(Warfarin)? ## The Acetaminophen, that is coupled with the Hydrocodone, can increase the blood thinning properties of the Warfarin and thus, increase the risk of bleeding. Is the prescribing doctor aware that you are taking both? Sometimes, the dosage must be adjusted accordingly and you should know to watch for any signs of bleeding and report them to your doctor immediately.

I have taken Hydroco/Apap for about six years for chronic pain. Sometimes the caplets are white, sometimes yellow. When they are yellow I itch badly after taking them. I have taken the dosage as prescribed by Dr. and started with no side effects.The last 3 days though I have experienced frequent vomiting and can not even keep water down until the med has worn out.Is there any relation to vicitin which is what I thought the Dr. was supposed to prescribe to th pharmacy. ## Well, the Hydrocodone in this is a narcotic, so it can cause the nausea and vomiting, as a side effect, especially if you aren't used to taking it. What difference between Watson/10-325? ## Both contain Hydrocodone 10 mg and Acetaminophen 325 mg. ## BL is correct! Thus, the only difference is that they have been manufactured by different companies. Watson, of course for the one, and Intrapharm for the other. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is this pill consider Norco and dose it work as good as the Watson? ## Hi JoAnn, To answer your first question, Hydrocodone bitartrate + APAP is a generic for brand name Norco. The APAP is simply an abbreviation for Acetaminophen. In terms of how it compares to the Watson (Actavis) formula, this is something that can only be determined by you since everyone is affected different by the same medication(s). What is the difference? ## The 10/325 has 5 more mgs. of hydrocodone than the 5/325. Go Figure!!!!! ## That is correct, one tablet has 5mgs of Hydrocodone and the other has 10mgs of it and the APAP is just medical speak for Acetaminophen. I had a tooth extraction yesterday, been taking I Norco 7.5-325 regularly since; took one pill an hour ago and the pain is still unbearable, can I take one more or even half a pill more? ## Hi Ryan, Generally with this type of drug the dosing instructions indicate that you should take 1 pill every 4-6 hours or so. I could be wrong, but I think this is mainly due to the concerns associated with Acetaminophen and liver toxicity. From my own personal experience, it should be fine to take a half a pill more, as they do make a stronger norco with 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. i've been taking this for 2 years. i only take 1/2 and most days i only take 3 halves. i can go 8-12 hours when i sleep without any withdrawal. my pain doc isn't concerned about me being addicted. said my dose is too low. ## What has your doctor suggested? Is Hydrocodone Apap 10/325 good for pain? ## That would be the narcotic Hydrocodone, and 10mgs is the most you can get these in, and Acetaminophen 325mgs, A narcotic analgesic. My husband takes the Hydrocodone/Apap 5-500MG Tablet by Mallinckrodt. When we went to a different drug store, they gave us Hydrocodone/Apap 10-325. The drug store says it's the same as Hydrocodone/Apap 5-500MG. This can't be true? ## Well, no, obviously not, this is clearly a different dosage of the medication.
