I was prescribed hydrocodone-acetaminoph 10-500 when I pulled my back and was in pain. Is it safe to take with my: type 1 diabeyes; kidney transplant; 2 heart stents; and permanent valley fever? ## Was it prescribed by a doctor that is aware of these medical conditions and any other medications that you are taking? There are some concerns about the Acetaminophen having an effect on the kidneys, so you really do need to consult a doctor about this and whether or not it is safe for you to take. It can also have some blood thinning properties, so there may be some issues to be concerned about there, depending on what other medications yo are taking for you heart.

I was taking hydrocodon-acetaminophen 10-325's manufacturer mallinkrt which worked effectively. My doctor, against my wishes, switched me to hydrocodon-acetaminophen 5-325's. After 3 days, I experienced hypersensitivity, sleeplessness, extreme anger and became totally out of control. How do I approach my doctor, without offending him, since he is doing my knee replacement, to switch me back to the original script of 10-325's? ## The best thing you can do is to be honest with him and tell him of the problems you had. I have a round pill with a triangle and it says 524 ## This is actually a very similar medication which contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 200mgs of Ibuprofen, rather than Acetaminophen. My Dr. Switched my medication from hydrocodon-acetaminophn 10 - 325 to the 7.5 -325 starting this month Dec. 3rd. That's when I got them from the pharmacy,so I've been taking them for 10 days. What dosage was the Lortab that you were taking? Most of them have a lower dose of Acetaminophen in them now, which could explain why it isn't helping your pain as much. Ok my sister is worried about me taken the amount of this medication. I'm taken 2 tablets of hydrocodon-acetaminophn 10-500 as needed 3 times a day. This would mean I'm taken 60-3000. Is this gonna cause problems with my liver. What is a healthy liver number before one should start to be concerned. ## According to the FDA, the current maximum recommended adult dose of acetaminophen is 4,000 milligrams per day. So in my opinion you should be fine with the amount you've been prescribed. However other webpages have noted that Extra Strength Tylenol packages will now list the maximum daily dose as six pills, or a total of 3,000 milligrams, down from eight pills a day, or 4,000 milligrams. I got these from the va this month instead of the ones I hated..( the ones marked M367)...they look the same as the yellow hydro by qualitest...except they're white & the numbers are different... To me... ## They are manufactured by Sun Pharmaceuticals and they list them as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. why is this being a discontinued medicine ## The only thing that is changing is the amount of Acetaminophen. It is being reduced to 325 mg. The FDA has asked all of the manufacturers of Acetaminophen combination medications to reduce it. The changes will go into effect in Jan 2014.
