Can I use Aspirin for my headache if I use this for the other pain! ## Hello, Fatima! How are you? Sorry about your headache. I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, but you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. Additionally, if you wait a little while, the narcotic may relieve your headache and you may not need to take anything else. Is there anything else I can help with?

How long after taking above drug should you feel some relief from the pain? ## Hi Rayna, This may vary slightly for some individuals depending on their metabolism, age, weight, tolerance, and other personal factors; but on average most people say they can feel its effects creep on within about 15 to 20 minutes after taking it. I don't know how severe your pain levels are, but you might want to speak with your doctor if you're barely even noticing the effects of this medication on your pain. How long have you been taking it for?

I use it for pain relief after lumbar spinal fusion for L5-S1. My pain is in the right leg this time and is worse at night. Why doesn't the med relieve pain at night ## Hi Lil, Sorry to hear about your challenges with pain management. From your description, it sounds to me like you may just require a stronger medication overall, or possibly something else that can be used as an adjunctive therapy to what you're already taking for pain relief. In either case, this is something best discussed with your doctor or health-care provider, who can suggest and offer other types of treatment options for you during those peak hours of worsening pain. The increased pain at night could simply be an indication that you're beginning to build up a tolerance to this medication's effects....

With a Hydrocodone Acetaminophen dosage of one tablet per 6 hours, would double vision be a problem after 4 or 5 days? ## Hello, Vickie! How are you? Yes, it could cause that for a few weeks, until your body gets used to the medication, since this is a narcotic. However, if it is severe and problematic, then you should consult your doctor, as you may need to try a different medication. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

taking one for tooth pain not helping can I take two is that safe every six hours ## Hi, Thinker! Sorry about the pain you're having. This is a generic for Vicodin, Norco, Lortab and others, which means that the Hydrocodone is a narcotic that carries the risk of being habit forming and side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. Additionally, the Acetaminophen can be toxic, if too much is taken in a day, so I have to say I wouldn't recommend doubling up, unless your doctor or dentist has specifically said it's okay for you to do so. Learn more Vicodin details here. Have you consulted your dentist to have the tooth taken care of, yet? If not, then the pain will just continue to be a recurring problem, because it's not going to go away,...

M375 on one side oblong split on the other ## Hello, Freda! How are you? Did you mean M 357? If so, this tablet was manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a dosage that is no longer available, since the maximum dose of Acetaminophen in them now has been lowered to no more than 325mgs. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Which is better to take for relieving pain from a pinched nerve (hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325mg or ibuprofen 100mg)? ## They really aren't comparable, to be honest. Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, while Ibuprofen is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. My daughter is 12 and her weight is 160lbs and she had surgery and they gave her 360oz of hydrocodone - acetaminophen 7.5-325mg/15mL and she takes 10mL every 4 hours. How long should this bottle of meds last? ## Hi Kayla - Can you please double check the total size of the bottle? 360 oz doesn't seem possible for a prescription since that equals over 10,000 ml. Do you mean to say 360 ml? ## I'm going to assume for a moment that the OP meant 36 oz of liquid since that equals about 1065 ml. That being the case, taking a dose every 4 hours equals 6 doses per day. BUT ... I will also assume only 5 doses per day since the patient is probably sleeping longer than 4 hours, and taking 5 doses per day at 4 hour intervals equals 16 hours of wake time. So ... 50 ml per day of liquid. 1065 m...

What is the difference between the 325mg and the 7.5/325mg tablets? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? There should be 2 numbers listed for anything that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, for instance, in the second one you've listed, that designates 7.5mgs of the narcotic Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, you've not listed the complete information for the first one, since that only lists 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Can you please double check your information and post back? I would like to know if this Rx will reduce swelling. Monday, I had Oral surgery for the removal of a tooth and this is the Rx. I take 1 tablet by mouth every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain. Tuesday, I was scheduled to return for flipper retainer to be inserted but I was not feeling well & was very swollen, so I postponed to Thursday. Thursday, the doctor said it was so swollen, he didn't want to bother the swollen tissue so rescheduled for the next Tuesday. ## Hello, Vicki! How are feeling? Has the swelling gone down, at all? And no, this medication won't really help much with swelling. However, the issue is that after having oral surgery, they want to be careful what they give you, to avoid increasing how much you bleed, which is why anti-iflammatories weren't given. ...

5/300 is 1/3 the price of 5/325 of hydrocodone acetaminophen at the pharmacy. Does the pain relief compare and is it worth the difference in price? We are talking $13 versus $38 for 25 mg difference. ## It's possible they have already raised the price with hydrocodone combinations meds becoming a Schedule II meds Oct 6, 2014. Everything from manufacturing to dispensing had to have tighter security and the cost has to be passed on to the customer. ## Hello, Debra! How are you? It really depends on how well it works for you. If you don't take this all the time, then you'll likely get adequate relief from the 5/300, though I don't show a listing for that dosage being available, so it would be best to double check with your pharmacy. My daughter has been taking hydrocodone 5/325 every 4 hrs since Thurs afternoon. 24 hrs ago, her dr moved it to every 6 hrs, and she took her last one at 615pm last night (it's now 1250a). Can you switch to extra strength, OTC acetaminophen now (500mg tabs)? Or should we wait longer after her last hydrocodone dose? Please advise. Thank you! ## You can take up to 3000mg of acetaminophen in a 24hr period. Anymore than that should be under a doctor's care/advice. ## According to the FDA, their 'liver warning' goes by a maximum daily dosage of 4,000 mg within a 24-hour period. This is not to say that you shouldn't consult with your doctor first, but it should allow for substantial flexibility in your dosing. If you're currently taking 1300mgs a day (325mgs four times...
