Can hydroco/acetamin 7.5-325mg be taken prior to root canal ## Hydrocodone /acetaminophen is a narcotic analgesic and CAN be taken before, during and after a root canal. There is no ASPRIN in it, or anything that causes thinning blood ......since I believe that is why you are asking the question? Anyway....it is fine to take it or, if you are taking it, to continue without stopping for the procedure. ## You can take it, before a root canal, as long as your doctor, or dentist approves of you doing so, and is aware that you are taking it, however, you do always need to check, because people with some medical conditions cannot take it. I have some 12 year old Hydrocodon Acetamine. Is it still effective. I am sure my doctor will represcribe it for another regimen, but if I can save money I would like to use the old stuff. ## No, that's far too old, it would have lost effectiveness after 3 years, if it were still in the originally factory sealed container. Once in the pharmacy bottle, which exposes it to heat, light and moisture, it starts to lose effectiveness after one year. So, please see your doctor for a new prescription. Are there any other questions or comments?

I was prescribed hydrocodone-acetaminoph 10-500 when I pulled my back and was in pain. Is it safe to take with my: type 1 diabeyes; kidney transplant; 2 heart stents; and permanent valley fever? ## Was it prescribed by a doctor that is aware of these medical conditions and any other medications that you are taking? I was taking hydrocodon-acetaminophen 10-325's manufacturer mallinkrt which worked effectively. My doctor, against my wishes, switched me to hydrocodon-acetaminophen 5-325's. After 3 days, I experienced hypersensitivity, sleeplessness, extreme anger and became totally out of control. How do I approach my doctor, without offending him, since he is doing my knee replacement, to switch me back to the original script of 10-325's? ## The best thing you can do is to be honest with him and tell him of the problems you had. When a dosage is abruptly lowered like that, you experience both withdrawals and rebound effects and he should be aware of that. Learn more Vicodin details here. Did he give any reason why he was lowering the dosage?

i do not get relief from this pain medicine, what is the deal ## Hi baby, Unfortunately when it comes to choosing an appropriate pain medication, there's a lot of room for trial and error. If your body is accustomed to another manufacturer's versions of this, then its ineffectiveness may be attributed to the different binders/fillers that are being used in this particular tablet versus others. That's my theory anyways, given that nothing else is changed on the label when you switch between different manufacturer's brands/generics. The only thing I'd encourage patients to do in light of this, is to kindly ask the doctor to be more descriptive on the prescription he/she writes, in order to pick out a specific manufacturer that you feel works best from past personal exp...

If so, this tablet was manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a dosage that is no longer available, since the maximum dose of Acetaminophen in them now has been lowered to no more than 325mgs.
