At 45 yrs old going on 46 yrs old I will now have to get surgery it is looking like as things are much worse and only surgery can help me, but the Doctor wanted to wait as long as I could before going under the knife. I mean I have been told Morphine won't help me at all and I will be in a lot of pain after surgery. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I'm wondering if there are any interactions between my hydroco-acet 5-325 and promethazine 25 mg. ## No, there should not be any adverse interactions with these 2 medications. Promethazine, which is an anti-nausea drug, is often combined with narcotics to reduce nausea and as a boost for the pain reliever. You should be fine. The only thing that would be a problem is an allergic reaction to one or both medications. ## Hello, Jen! How are you? Actually, there is one concern listed in the databases, due to the fact that both medications can cause sedation, so taking them together can cause a cumulative effect. You may find yourself very drowsy and dizzy, which could affect your ability to drive, operate machinery and etc. Thus, you need to be aware of this and be careful. Are there an...

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I had a tooth extraction yesterday, been taking I Norco 7.5-325 regularly since; took one pill an hour ago and the pain is still unbearable, can I take one more or even half a pill more? ## Hi Ryan, Generally with this type of drug the dosing instructions indicate that you should take 1 pill every 4-6 hours or so. I could be wrong, but I think this is mainly due to the concerns associated with Acetaminophen and liver toxicity. From my own personal experience, it should be fine to take a half a pill more, as they do make a stronger norco with 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. So it would be as if you're taking the stronger version of the drug. Learn More: Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone I hope this helps! ## Actually, if the pain is still that bad, after having had the to...

Hello, I had surgery to get a tumor removed from the abdomen and when I got out of the hospital the doctor prescribed to me hydroco/acetaminop 5 325 mg for pain. At first it was 2 pills every 6 hours and then my second refill he changed the orders to 1 pill every 4 hours. My question is, is there a reason for that? ## Hello, Joeyboy! How are you? Yes, there is a reason, because once you've been healing for a bit, your pain shouldn't be as bad, so you shouldn't need as much of the narcotic. Plus it also helps prevent addiction and they'll be easier to stop at a lower dose. What is stronger and how do these 2 drugs compare.....10/325 hydrocodone vs. tramadol 50 mg ## You really can't compare them, since they aren't in the same drug classes. The Hydrocodone in the Vicodin/Lortab is a potent narcotic analgesic. But the Tramadol is just a centrally acting analgesic, though it is derived from an opiate, it is nowhere near as strong and effective as the opiate narcotic class. Both can be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You can learn more Vicodin details here and you can learn more Tramadol details here. Which one has been prescribed for you?
