I just left Walgreens in Nasjville, TN and was told that that they can't fill my prescription for 10/325 (Lortab) due to a problem with the manufacturer. I called a Publix pharmacy that told ne that a change in the delivery scheduling is causing the shortage. I sure hope they clear this up soon! ## Hello, Bennie! How are you? I am 57 yr old Male, I have congestive heart failure with injection ratio of 15%. It appears that when I take hydrocodone I have more energy and less breathing problems. Has this been found to be a benificial side affect. I have had RA since I was nine. I've been on EVERY RA medication you can think of . I've had hips replaced and revised as well as knee replacements and spine surgery. It's been tough but I'm a fighter. If your doctor/surgeon was aware of this allergy prior to writing your script, then it's likely that he/she did so with your best interest in mind. One of the primary factors that doesn't seem to be well known to the public, is that the FDA allows active ingredients in generic meds to vary by as much as 25% from the actual listed dosage. This could potentially mean that a 5mg hydrocodone may actually turn out to be 3 to 7 mgs depending on the manufacturer. Aside from that, subtle differences in the "inactive" ingredients (binders/fillers) could also impact the absorption/overall efficacy of the medication. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In my opinion, another key component to weaning off is to have your doctor make you a tapering schedule on a calendar in order track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame.
