## My husband has been taking Hydralazine 25mg for about a month and now he mostly remains in bed, has broke out on his stomach, sides, & back. He has been experiencing tiredness, forgetfulness, and dry mouth. It's to lower his blood pressure but the side effects are not worth it and I have been putting calamine lotion on the itching and he takes benadryl. This drug is not good for you at all. ## Bennie, how is he doing? Has informed his doctor about these issues? There are other medications he can try to lower his blood pressure. It took me about a year to find some that worked for me, without making me miserable. Is hydralazine gluten free? ## Hydralazine is actually a generic medication, so it's manufactured by several different companies, which means that I can't check if the one you have is gluten free, without knowing who the manufacturer is of your tablets. Do you know who the manufacturer is? Or can you post back with the markings on them? ## I have the Camber brand. I currently take 25mg of Hydralazine Hydrochloride morning and evening to lower my blodd pressure. Can I take viagra? ## You should consult your doctor, before doing so, because it is really going to depend on your blood pressure readings. Combining the Hydralazine with the Sildenafil in the Viagra can cause additive effects, which could result in severe lowering of your blood pressure. Is there anything else I can help with?

In three days I noticed my breathing improved - not sure why that is. I pee a lot too. A little woozy - trying to get used to the medication and adjust to the drop in blood pressure; it's been high for awhile. ## The increased urination is a normal side effect of this medication, as well as most other high blood pressure/cardiac medications, according to the FDA. Just realized that I took Hydralazine 25mg three hours apart when it's supposed to be taken every eight hours. ## Took my 100 mg hydralazine at 3:30 and when I went to take my metformin and Lisinopril instead of grabbing Lisinopril took another hydralazine instead 6:30 , should I be concerned and should I take my Lisinopril or wait until bedtime when I usually take my other hydralazine ? ## Can I take 100 mg hydralazine 7 hours apart before the next dose. ## Taking an extra dose of Hydralazine within 3 hours may result in more lowering of your blood pressure than usual, and additional side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. My PCP prescribed Hydralazine to treat my BP after taking amlodipine, metoprolol, and carvidelol - not working for me. I was hoping that this hydralazine will work for me, 10mg bid 2 only. Now in 15 days taking this med, I always have shortness of breath, feeling that my lungs are super congested. Barely breathe and all in the morning, my anxiety became so aggressive, feeling of constantly sad. But I was also being told that it is just a matter of time that my body will adjust or adapt this meds. My Dr. in the US has prescribed Hydralazine-only, without any combination of meds. In India where I have come from, Apresol tablets contain hydrochloride also. What does hydrochloride do? Can I take Apresol safely as an alternative to Hydralazine? If not, what Indian drug is equivalent to Hydralazine? ## The Hydrochloride is not actually an additional ingredient. It just designates the specific chemical salt the medication was derived from, according to NIH reports. Thus, it is really the same medication. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

Presently I am taking Hydralazine, Carvedilol, and Hydroxychloroquine. I take hydralazine 25mg. or metoprolol 50mg. for high bp Both cause extreme dizziness so I can't function. Is there anything I can take that does not do this? Please help as this is ruiningnmy life. If you aren't taking medications consistently on a regular basis, that could be contributing to the problem, since dizziness can be a typical side effects, according to FDA reports, and it may take 4 to 5 weeks for you body to get used to them and for such side effects to taper off and go away. I take hydralazine, Htcz (hydrochlorothiazide), lisinopril and amlodipine. I have no energy what so ever when I try to work outside like in the garden. My blood pressure drops really low to where I almost black out. Any reason why this is happening? ## All of these medications can lower blood pressure, as well as treat certain cardiac conditions, according to FDA approved uses, and if you are working in the garden while it's warm, or hot out, that can also lower your blood pressure. Thus, it may be dropping too low during such activity. There is also a risk that you are dehydrated. Activity also lowers your blood pressure, so you may need a dosage adjustment.
