Is this pill supposed to be swallowed or put under the tongue? I had gotten a couple from the hospital and the nurses couldn't even tell me what I was supposed to do with them. Please help me figure out what to do. ## This is listed as being a sublingual tablet that is meant to be dissolved under the tongue, though there is no harm if it is swallowed, it will just take a bit longer to work, if you do so. Ready to stop taking loratabs ## Have you asked your doctor about using Subutex to get off the Lortab? Most pain management doctors should have a general understanding of what you need to safely get through the withdrawal phase of such medications. In the event that you can't get Subutex, I'd even consider cutting the Lortabs into smaller fractions so you can take a partial dose to help ween down and lessen your need for more addicting meds like Subutex. I only say that because I've been reading a number of posts stating how some people use Suboxone, Subutex, & Methadone to get off one med and they ironically end up getting addicted to those one's as a result of taking them for so long. I ran out of subutex last night - can I take suboxone today? ## Hi Ash, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Subutex and Suboxone. So with that being said, I wouldn't anticipate having any problems when switching between one or the other. Also, because Subutex contains the same active ingredient "Buprenorphine", taking the two meds together or within a short a time frame of one another would also be similar to just having an higher dose of Suboxone. I have been on 16 mg of subutex for ten years, last Tuesday I had surgery and decided that I was going to try to come off the subutex, use the pain mess I was prescribed for the surgery and then be done with it all. I was prescribed perk 5 mg every four hours, and at the time of the surgery I had been off the subutex for 24 hours (I know that's not long enough) To my surprise taking the perk as prescribed held me over at least in the beginning. By Monday night I was in terrible withdraws (despite still taking the pain medication as I have been). By about 4am I took half of a 8mg sub (which was around 10 hours after the last perc I've taken) The 4 mg not only took me out of WD but it down right got me high. Hey everyone after recently being released from prison, so many great things are happening in my life however my painful desire to use opiates is still strong and almost led me to ER yesterday.
