After 31 months in a state correctional facility (for a non violent crime/ misdemeanors) I was released. I started taking Suboxone 8mg and have been since May 2011. I wanted to stop taking them but I knew the detox was not going to be easy and they don't really have a detox for suboxone except for Methadone and I do not ever want to go down that road again. The withdrawals I'm having from taking the Suboxone is kicking my ass. I am not sure what to do. I'm guessing I jumped the gun in taking it. If anyone knows what I could do, please help me. Does anyone know of any doctors in the Chicago area currently prescribing low doses of opioid pain medications? Something like 10-325 Norcos, 20mg-30mg oxycodone IR, 15mg-30mg MSIR or even Suboxone? I broke my back over a decade ago. I recently herniated another disc at L4 and am experiencing terrible pain that shoots all the way down my left leg and into my foot. I’ve been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and am also experiencing narrowing of the spine at L4, L5. I used to be on tons of these kind of medications and was weaned down on my own choice, but the pain has become unbearable and I need to be able to work. I have been on suboxone strips for over 3 years. I am prescribed 2 8mg strips a day. This month I over took my prescription because they are not lasting as long as they used to. The thing is I go to a pain clinic and they are very strict due to federal regulations. I never misuse my strips (shooting up, chewing, etc) but I did take more than expected this month. I have 5 strips left to take back with me and five strips left to take but I go back to the doctor on September 14, 2011. I am really scared that my levels will be off. I do not use to get high as I suffer from scoliosis, a pinched nerve, nerve damage in my lower left leg and left foot, and I have two bad knee's that will eventually have to be replaced. I just recently got prescribed soboxone after about a year and a half of shooting h. I still would like to get high maybe once a month. Does anybody know how long to wait? I take a sub before bed. i have to wake up bout six am for work and if i take an opiate at about nine willl it be effected buy the sub from the night before? I just found out my son is calling his heroin dealer after being on suboxeon for 3 months. Cna you shoot heroin while on suboxeon. His behavior borders on psychotic. ## I'm sorry to hear about your son. I am no expert just a person who recently started taking suboxone myself..From the literature I read that was given to me by my doc, I would say he can shoot it but it will have absolutely no effect on him because suboxone contains opiate blockers.
