Have you asked your doctor for help tapering off?

I am having low grade fever for last two months with temperature varying between 98.6 and 99.8 . I am having occasional hot flushes , sometimes several in succession. These are mostly in early morning around 4 PM . Sometimes there are only a few , sometimes more even lasting up to late forenoon. There is no regular frequency or duration. There are periods when they do not occur and sometimes they occur daily or even just for a day. Sometimes the hot flushes are followed by chills but not frequently. I am having Diabetes and hypertension for which I am on oral medication . I am not taking any other allopathic medicines. I am taking some homeopathic medicines for low grade fever. What could be the cause for these hot flushes , which are extremely uncomfortable . ## What medications do you...

My age 27 female ## There are medications that can help lower your fever, however, if it is caused by some illness or an infection of some sort, then it will keep returning, until you get proper treatment for the problem. I cannot suggest what you should take, since it requires an evaluation of your medical history, current medical conditions and any other medications you may be taking. You also didn't say what medication you have already tried. Some products that are used to help with a fever are: and However, as I said, if it is caused by an infection, this will requ...

My mother is 65 yrs and has been taking Losar for 2 yrs - now she has developed a dry irritating cough. The Doctor told her it is due to Losar and asked her to stop taking it. But it has been 4 weeks and the cough has not improved. She has developed other symptoms with the cough - very low grade fever (99.5) with chills and erythroderma of skin with itching on arms. She has dizziness and nausea in the morning also. When will the effects of Losar disappear. She is tired of coughing. Nothing improves the cough. Is there anything that could help? Her lungs are clear with no phlegm. ## Yes, Lostartan can cause a dry cough, however, it usually doesn't cause the fever, chills and other symptoms she is experiencing. I'm age 22+ and I've had a fever for two days now... Can anyone please recommend which medicine should be taken? ## I've had a fever and body pain for the past 2 days and l take a combination of the following medications, but my fever is still not going away. 1 Dolo 650 2 Zerodol P 3 Mox 500 4 Ranitidin 300 Can anyone please give me some advice? ## How high are the fevers you both are worried about? In most cases, a mildly elevated body temperature can be lower by using Paracetamol, or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, such as Ibuprofen, or Naproxen. The NIH warns that they may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, increased risk of bleeding, and headache. But it really depends on how high your fever is, and what is causing it. Are either of you on any other medicat...

If there was a fever caused by overheating or blanket, how long will it last? A day? Hour? ## Hello, Christina! How are you? As reported by the NIH, it shouldn't last very long, at all, if it was solely due to the blanket. Basically as soon as the body starts to cool off, the fever should start to lower. If it does not, then it was likely caused by some illness and not the heat of the blanket. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on 120mg of verapamil for about 3 months. I take it for vestibular migraines. My neurologist doubled my dose to 240mg last week to see if it would help with persistent dizziness. I've had zero problems on the 120mg. I thought I was doing ok on the increased dose, but started running a low grade fever (99.5-100.9). I really have no other symptoms. The fever is persistent and will drop down for maybe an hour or two with anti-pyretics. Then it pops right back up. It's very weird, and I've never experienced anything like this before. I dropped my dose 3 days ago back to 120mg to see if the fever would break - no luck. It's been over a week now and I have developed a slightly productive cough in the last couple of days. I'm waiting to hear from my neurologis...

Am suffering from cold and low grade fever since few monthes..just i took calpol 500 mg.bt am not getting the relief from ma disese..so,pld suggest any antibiotics ## Antibiotics are not effective on colds as they are caused by a virus. It would do nothing but increase the chance of whatever antibiotic you take to not work the next time you really need them ## Petty is correct. If it is just a cold, an antibiotic will not help and taking one just increases your chance of developing antibiotic resistance. The NIH lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. An antibiotic should only be taken if a physician has confirmed the presence of an infection and told you to take one. Given the low grade fever and that you...

I had shingles in my head and part of my face ner eye area I started taking 75 Gm twice a day then I took it once a day, and now I am taking 25 Gm twice a day, I want to stop it. ## In my opinion, such a low dose. Try one 25 gm a day for a few days and then nothing. ## I can only assume you didn't mean grams, gm, but rather mgs, as in milligrams. Can you please post back and clarify? At such a low dose, there should not be any need to taper. The FDA warns that the typical withdrawal effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, fever, and chills. ## Hi, I have been tapering from 2x75mg a day for 5weeks then dropped to 2x50mg, now on 2 weeks of 1x25mg then stop all together. Hi all, so I went on antibiotics last week to combat a sinus infection. At the time I started I had a low fever. Now the sinus symptoms have gone, but I still have a fever, and I am very nauseous and light-headed. Is this normal? Could this be a bad reaction to the amox? Help! ## Hello, Sara! How are you? Yes, those can be side effects of antibiotics, occasionally, they can be just as annoying as the infection you were trying to get rid of!!! You may also experience non-allergic skin rash, headache and diarrhea. If it worsens, you should consult your prescriber. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello! I haven't asked one of my stupid questions in awhile so I have one for you. I'm on a daily schedule of 5-5-5-10-10 Oxycodone. I've had a low fever for a week or two for unknown reason, and would like to take Acetaminophen but read that it increases the effects of Oxycodone. I don't want to take anything dangerous, so what exactly would be a safe medicine to take? Thanks for any suggestions, as I trust you for this advice. ## Hello, Mimi! How are you? Yes, Acetaminophen can augment the effect of Oxycodone in some people that take it, so you should always check with your doctor, before adding it. However, the same is true of all relevant medications that treat fever, so you need to ask your doctor which is safest for you. However, the increase is usually not that si...

I started taking this because of cellulitis. I have completed a full day of medication. I have a low grade fever and slight body aches. Is that normal? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? Yes, the infection will typically still be affecting you, after such a short period of time, as well as the side effects from the antibiotic. The general rule, if the antibiotic is working, is that you shouldn't see any worsening of your condition after a full 24 hours of taking it and then you should start to see improvement after 3 full days. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

The FDA classifies this as an antibiotic, so it can be used to treat or prevent various types of bacterial infections. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, you should not try to diagnose and treat yourself. You need to see your doctor for a proper diagnosis and for them to prescribe the correct treatment, if one is required. If you're guessing at the wrong illness and take the wrong medication, you make things worse for yourself by letting it get really out of control. Taking an antibiotic, if it isn't needed, could also cause...
