How To Iv 30mg Morphine Er

After a brain & spine surgery a 1.5yr. ago (forever living w/ Chiari Malformation & related conditions, permanent damage, more surgery) I've been on 30mg. Morphine ER & Tramadol for breakthrough....but... (30mg. Morphine ER 2x's per day, a 15mg. Morphine midday and 2-4 Tramadol for breakthrough when needed...try to keep that very limited) my condition comes w/ headaches. Common. But they have been a bit more than expected-even w/ my sumatriptan, etc. Daily, a nagging heavy headache - not always a migraine / the Chiari h/a I know so well. However, it dawned on me that when in ICU, in a hospital stay recently for kidney stones (after last surgery especially, brain & spine) the nurses & Dr's realized that when they gave me the morphine (IV, not oral obviousl...

I've got a pinched sciatic nerve that has gotten progressively worse over the past 6 weeks. Finally went to an ER because the pain became unbearable. I had been trying yoga poses/stretches for the hamstrings. That really didn't help. I was in an ER yesterday, for about 5 hours or so, because after I had got up in the morning I was unable to move without excruciating pain in my right hip down through my right leg..I couldn't move on my own, and the paramedics that picked me up, OMG I was screaming and balling in pain.. Over the course of the 5 hours I was there in the ER, I got injected (through an IV) of FENTanyl 50mg (didn't help). About 40 mins later I got a shot of TORadol (30mg), didn;t help.. I crushed on of my morphine 30mg er tablets because it didnt seem to work my last dose and now ive read i should not do that my question is should i be worried or what signs do i look for or worry about ## Hello, Kitty! As listed by the FDA, the possible overdose symptoms may include severe dizziness, severe drowsiness, stomach pain, vomiting, low blood pressure, low heart rate and shallow breathing. I am taking ER Mscontin 60mg BID and 30mg IR Mscontin BID for chronic pain. Ive been taking this dose for about 6 months, and before that I was taking the 30mg ER. My sister said she heard that sometimes morphine can actually cause more pain instead of just taking away pain.
