i've ben injecting D's forever, but couldn't remember if the morphine needed heat. are they more like the shakers, or do you just need more than 1 CC of water? ## These practices are not safe, regardless of how you prepare the tablets for injecting. Outside of a lab, you can never remove all the fillers that these tablets contain. Not all of these are meant to be broken down by the human body and when you inject them, there is no way for your body to process these substances out and dispose of them. This creates the risk of blockages, which can result in strokes and embolisms. Can be snorted? Or best way to get into body (system) quickly ## It isn't safe to try to use any pill in a manner in which it was not intended. Tablets, especially these times released products, contain fillers and not all of them are meant to be broken down by the human body, instead they are normally just expelled in your waste. Crushing a pill to snort it, or mix it for injecting places these substances into your body in a manner, in which, it cannot be properly processed out and this creates the risk of blockages. If they were snorted, this could cause respiratory arrest and injecting could cause stroke, or embolism. Are there any other questions or comments?

My husband has a history of back pain since 1985. He has had 3 back surgeries, epidural injections and 2 spinal column stimulator implants. His last surgery in 2006 was quite successful. He was on 180 mg of Avinza and percocet for breakthrough pain. He has gradually reduced his medication to 30 mg twice daily of morphine sulphate and has maintained this dosage for 2 years. We have been patients of this primary care group for 25 years. The doctor that we both had been patients of retired, so we now see another MD from the same group. I see a different MD from this group than my husband. The reason being that I do not care for this D.O. that my husband sees. He has been seeing him for approx a year. If you inject MS contin, you are risking instant DEATH! Don't do it. ## Well, I wouldn't say instant death, there is a good chance that there will be some suffering and misery involved first, at least until they pass out from the OD. You are correct, though, it can be deadly and is not something that anyone should try. There are reasons it is in a pill form and not meant to given by injection. Recently after losing a family member (to the same painful disease me and my brother have) I found this package of really old vials of Morphine Sulfate, 10mg in a closet. I don't know when they expired as they have no date. But they look really old and are slightly yellowish. They were made by Wyeth to be injected using a device called a Tubex. The plastic wrapped package has 4 sealed glass vials with the needles and rubber stopper attached. My question is if really old morphine is dangerous or painful to use? If your taking MS Contin 60mg, and Morphine Sulfate IR 15mg and also injecting 20-30mg each day, can the drug test reveal this? ## They can detect the level of morphine I your system, depending on the me type if drug rest they do. But most just test for the metabolites, and the drug it's self.
