I have just been diagnosed with narcolepsy and have been taking Nuvigil for five days and now all I can think about is intercourse, all day, all night. I have tried taking care of myself but still never feel satiated. This is very unusual for me, I am usually way too tired to bother with intercourse with my husband but he is all I think about now. I kinda like this feeling but it's a bit over the top. Anyone else get this kind of side effect and did it eventually go away? ## Hello- I have just been prescribed nuvigil and my libido is already elevated compared to my wife. I am sorry i know this doesn't answer your question. I just was wondering since you have posted this question if your drive has subsided or stayed the same, etc? I've been reading everything I can about this...

I have severe back pain and I'm on 50mg of tramadol 4 times a day. Ever since I started to take these my libido has been increased drastically. Has anyone else noticed the same? ## Hello, Amber! How are you? I've not heard it mentioned, but it does make sense, in a way. All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, for instance along with being habit forming, the FDA lists those for Tramadol as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Usually, it lowers most people's libido, but conversely there are always a few people who actually experience the opposite of any side effect, they may get diarrhea, very water mouth and an accelerated libido. Has anyone else that's taken this experienced this issue? ## Just started taking today....

Hello. I am new to this site and have been reading some of the posts. Very interesting. I am having a problem, even though I am a nurse. When I was on Pramipexole 0.125 a little round pill. One of the side effects I enjoy or did enjoy was a seriously increased libido. Since going on .5MG I have yet to see an increase in my libido or being in the mood, so to speak. It's a football shaped white pill with PX 2 only on one side. They are scored tablets. Made by Glenmark. (0.5) wondering if I simply became tolerant to the med. or whether this manufacturer puts out garbage. I'm tempted to take 1MG and see what happens. I am becoming more and more frustrated every day because my days seem so boring. I really enjoy the tension and coming alive on this medicine. The NDC # for 0.125 tabs ...

I have been on Cialis daily 5mg mainly for BPH for about two (2) months and it has definitely helped. I have also enjoyed the added bonus of assisting me with ED. The past few weeks, the ED benefits seem to have lessened. A bit of backstory: I am 69 and have only one testicle, one removed five (5) years ago due to severe prostate infection which "ate through" part of the testicle and causing severe, chronic pain. As a result of this, I have been getting ten (10) of the TESTOPEL pellets inserted in my backside every three (3) months. I LITERALLY am a different man as the time approaches for the implantation to be done i.e., much-reduced energy, depression, libido and general mood. Has anyone had experience where the daily 5mg Cialis is not as effective after a period of time. I w...

Hi doctor, I am taking Nexito Plus tablets for the past 4 years. Does Nexito Plus affect the libido in male body? I feel like my libido increases very often. Please let me know if this is because of taking Nexito Plus? Thank you ## Hello, Raju! How are you? No, typically it would actually cause a loss of libido, as reported by the U.S. FDA, though there is no way to be sure how any given medication might affect any given person that takes it. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Please be frank and tell me whether the coveram 5/5 drug affects the libido or not? ## Yes, libido issues can be a normal side effect of most blood pressure, and cardiac medications, according to the NIH, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. There are other medications that you can try, you may want to ask your doctor about them. Is there anything else I can help with?

how long after discontinuing losareten can i expect my libido to return? i am a 59 year old woman ## Hello, Sheryl! How are you? It could take a couple weeks for things to return to normal. What medication have you switched to? Most blood pressure and cardiac medications can cause loss of libido, as reported by the FDA, so it's really just a matter of trial an error to find one that works for you, without causing unwanted side effects. They may also cause nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Your age may also be having an effect on your libido. Are you post menopausal?

My Gabapentin intake was increased to 2500mg a day and since then it has increased my libido dramatically. I was just wondering if there is anyone else who has had this side effect? It's not a bad side effect but I was just wondering. ## Some medications do that to some people, in some others it may cause the opposite effect. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight changes. Have you experienced any other issues from taking this higher dose? ## I just got prescribed Gabapentin, 900 mg/day and this is day 5 and I'm still feeling loopy. If you don't mind me asking, why are you on such a high dose? I'm on it for a few nerve damage issues, but have noticed my mood is a bit more upbeat.

I started on bupropion xl 150 mg, taking it to help with my libido ( 50+ years old going through menopause) and weight loss. Libido was great and lost a few pounds first week then nothing. Dr increased to 300 mg... I have been taking for 4 weeks, no weight loss and no libido.... I know this med can take awhile to work... any thoughts, will it begin to work soon? Anyone experience same thing? ## That's rather odd, while the FDA does list it as not being known to decrease libido, it is also not known to increase it in most people that take it. It is also not usually used, by itself to aid in weight loss, it is usually accompanied with Naltrexone. The FDA warns that this combination, known as Contrave, may cause headache, nervousness, dizziness, and anorexia. Did your doctor try you on...

My doctor prescribed me Ciplar LA 40 because I have a very little problem of tremor in my hands. I am also on Olmetor-H 40 since long. Someone told me that Ciplar LA 20 will affect my libido. Is this true? ## Hello, Jaspreet! How are you? It is possible, but not everyone experiences such a side effect from taking it. As listed by the U.S. FDA, other typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've tried several different brands of adderall, and I find the pink round tabs with markings cor 136 on them are by far, the strongest version available. As far as side effects go, minor dry mouth, slight loss in appetite but not major weight loss, and the major side effect that I personally get, is increased libido. Like 100 Xs my normal, or regular libido. It ended a LTR I was in due to my constant, errrr... urges, I guess. But I'm not sure if the increased libido is such a bad thing. I actually enjoy it as it makes intimacy much, MUCH more pleasurable. Does anyone else have this type of, or similar side effects? ## It is more commonly known to cause the opposite, as reported by the FDA, however, it is also a well known fact that sometimes medications cause opposite issues in...

I'm taking amlodipine besylate 10mg for high blood pressure maintenance and my libido has deteriorated. Is it because of this medication? By the way I'm 52 yrs old, thanks.. ## Yes, most blood pressure medications are known to cause loss of libido as a side effect, according to NIH reports, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. You might want to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication to see if it doesn't cause you the same issue. I am on Lyrica but I read somewhere that it affects libido and it increases depression and suicidal thinking. Please let me if u have such experience. Thanks. ## Hello, Ivan! How are you? The U.S. FDA does list those as being possible side effects of it, as well as nausea, dizziness, mood swings and weight gain. However, not everyone experiences all the side effects of any given medication. Have you had any problems with it? Can anyone else that's taken it chime in?

I've used both testoderm and androderm, and one brand works on me while the other brand does not.Any comments? ## Which works better? ## In my opinion,Testoderm works best. Androderm does nothing for me. ## It can vary from person to person, so it is best to use what works best for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including weight changes, irritability, mood changes, and increased libido. What dosage have you each been prescribed?

I was on HRT implants for about a year. Had nothing but good results with it, felt great, no weight gain, good drive, lots of energy. The draw back is the cost so my doctor suggested Estratest (generic) I started taking it about two weeks ago, mainly for libido and mental clarity. It makes me dizzy. Even when taking it at night I'm dizzy during the day. I feel the dosage is too low and might need to be increased but with the dizziness only one tablet is causing, I am afraid. Do the symptoms resolve after taking it for some time? ## In theory, they should go away, after your body gets used to it, but with hormones that can take about 3 months. Are you sure that's whats causing the dizziness? What are your blood pressure levels? Have you been dehydrated, at all?

I have been on methadone treatment for about 2 years. I originally started going to a clinic and took the liquid. I was at about 200 mg per dose. I couldn't keep going to the clinic, and keep a steady job. I ended up finding a pain management doctor that prescribed me the pill form. We worked out a plan to taper down because methadone is just not good if you want to have energy, an increased libido, sweat, and all the lovely other symptoms. I ended up tapering down to about 60 mg per day then my doctor decided that he wanted me to switch from methadone to subutex. So, we made a plan to get down another 30 mg. I took the 30 mg for a week, then he told me he was ready to prescribe the subutex. My last dose of methadone was Friday morning at 6 a.m. I ended up making it 56 hours before ...

Hey guys, Lived with Low T for 30+ years. I'm 55. Libido is low, fatigued, fat, sleep disorders... Doc is going to give me the Testopel treatment for Hypogonadism (pituitary and testes problems). Questions I have: 1) Will libido improve? I'm reading posts that it worsens. Why is this - doesn't seem logical? 2) Any increase in energy and overall physical performance? 3) Muscle gain and fat loss associated with it or not? Thanks all... ## The non-improvement to the libido can be normal and usually only lasts for a few weeks, it's generally just due to your body getting used to the new hormone level. Yes, there can be an increase in energy and performance, as well as muscle gain and some loss in body fat, but it really works the same as the above, there may not be any immed...
