I was put on pain management years ago. I've had many of surgeries and have pelvic neuralgia , bulging discs at L5 and S1, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease and bi-lateral neuralgia. I became addictive 2 the pain meds. And went on methadone. I was on (110) mg. a day. Once I got down 2 (24)mg. I was in such bad w/d I went 2 my Dr. In tears. He gave me 2 choices, stay on the methadone and increase the amount or go on suboxone. I went on the subs that day. I had come down 2 far with the methadone 2 start over, again. My question is: would any Dr. Ever put me on pain management, again? I suffer so severely with pain, I can't take much more. Even if I have 2 let my husband hold them 4 me ang give them 2 me as prescribed. Please, any suggestions may b helpful. ## I work in an...

I have been in Pain Management for 15 years. I have the usual round of diagnoses. Herniated discs at cervical, thoracic and lumber spine. Bone spurs through out. I have spinal cord compression in my neck. Pain. I just switched from 16mg of Exalgo (Dilaudid ER) with Fentanyl ir for breakthrough- back to 100mcg Fentanyl patches with 15mg Morphine 3x a day for breakthrough. I feel like a trapped rat. To the outside world I'm a professional woman, mother of 3 grown children. I'm no different from any other junkie though. I wanted to go into suboxone assisted substance abuse treatment. Then I found out that, for quite a while, you have to be at the program every day to pick up meds (and go to therapy/group). I'd lose my job! I can walk into Pain Management, ask for Suboxone and l...

Is cost me my house, job, family and my soul! I lost who i had worked so hard to become! This went on for 6 years til suboxone well that was nice but after 5 years on that and yes taking too much and running short i had to get it from anywhere i could til i was due spending extra money and time to find it afraid of withdrawls. I am looking for a doctor in and around the Pennington Gap area or within 100 miles for pain management who will treat me with suboxone as I have tried other pain medicines which just leads to more problems. I have been in addiction treatment with this medication for two years now and has gave me my life back. It is not the best pain medication but I can function and not feel drugged up by it and can live a normal life the best it can be. I am 48 and have been told by the doctor my problems will only get worse as I get older and am disabled because of them. Because of all the drug abuse it is so hard to get help and this is why I went into the substance abuse program to begin with because I couldn't find a doctor. Please, I need some doctors listed that will treat long term with thi...

Pain management with soboxone I'm in chronic acute pain & I need a doctor that will treat my pain w/ soboxone. Please help me!!!!!! ## you may need to post what state you are in and your city of one close by. ## Sorry to say. Subxone is not a pain drug. It is used for patients with a drug addiction to needle drug abuse. Found this out the hard way. When you do find a doc to prescribe legitimate pain meds. You will be discriminatied for ever taking this med for pain. Repeat it is not pain medicine. ## Hello Amber (and Goldie), I too suffer from chronic pain due to degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, and bone spurs on my cervical and lumbar spine. My doctor at UCLA has me taking Suboxone as a pain management and it is the ONLY thing that works for me. I hate to take drugs ...

As a brief background - I have very advanced Degenerative Disc Disease, along with bad arthritis/spurs/nerve damage - all in my neck. 5 of the 7 discs are in terrible shape - I've been told by several doctors that it is very advanced for my age (34). I've been through a great deal of pain management including massage therapy, physical therapy, chiropractors, injections and procedures on my neck. Not a whole lot has helped and I'm trying to avoid surgery. For approximately 12 months the pain was managed by my pain management doctor on short acting oxycodone (30mg 3 times per day). Wasn't the best schedule, especially long term, to manage the pain. So I made the decision to get off that dose schedule by switching to suboxone. Exactly 1 month ago I switched to suboxone, tak...

I have been on suboxone for 8 years now. B 4 that, I was on methadone for almost 5 years. I had a lot of surgeries and have a lot of medical problems. I was on pain management (opiates) for 10 years and became an addict. I'm afraid if I get off the suboxone I'll b back on opiates. Due 2 the pain I suffer. How long can I stay on suboxone. Has anybody else been on it 4 a long time? I just don't want 2 b back 2 where I was or go through what I did ever again. ## Hi Cats, Thanks for sharing your story, and sorry to hear about your situation. While there is no single right answer for how long you should be on Suboxone for, this is usually determined on an individual basis in consultation with a knowledgeable doctor. From what I've been reading online, Suboxone tends to work b...

I am on pain management and take oxycodone 10s and 30s i took a suboxone 8 for 2 days and ran out how long am i gonna start to crash before i can take some methadone pills friend gave to me to hold me till my next script refill ...out of meds is my problem! had a ruff month and took more then i had to! ## Hello, CtJake! How are you doing? All of the medications you've mentioned carry the risk of being habit forming, since they are all narcotics, so you really need to be careful about taking more than prescribed and then adding in others that haven't been prescribed for you. I also do not have an answer for you on when you can take the Methadone, generally the doctors that prescribe Suboxone have been specially trained in its use and would advise someone on that. The calculations...

I was just wondering if some doctors prescribe Suboxone for pain? ## Most don't and from what I understand, insurance companies won't cover it for anything other than drug dependency issues. I have heard of a few people who have taken it for pain but its typically only prescribed for pain as a last resort because of other medical issues making the person unable to take anything else. Why are you trying to get on suboxone? Long term use of it for something like pain management is in my opinion a nastier habit to kick than regular opiates. The Dr Appts are very expensive and the withdrawal lasts months. If your concerned about taking opiates for pain I'd urge you to look into other alternatives. And if you're looking to get off of opiates for pain management just remember,...

Im in an addiction treatment program and I'm taking two 8/2 mg strips a day. I've been a slave to opiates for approximately 25 years. I've reached the point of being fed up with being dependent on pain pills to function. my addiction dr suggested trying to find a pain management dr who would treat my chronic pain with suboxone. It does alleviate my pain ...or might I say ..makes me functional and the pain tolerable. is this an actual option? I've done research on this and have gotten mixed reviews on the subject. I trust this site and follow it daily so I'm asking for some information and suggestions. I function better on suboxone than on oxycodone dilaudid or morphine (I've been prescribed them all plus some others) give me some feedback. What should I do or is ...

I am trying to find a doctor in Salem, Oregon who will do a pain contract for pain management for multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, failed back surgery syndrome, brachioplexus neuropathy and palsy, to get my quality of life back. I was on MS Contin 30 mg x 3 and Oxycodone 5 mg for breakthrough. ## Hi, If you're wanting to get on Suboxone call Wellness And Recovery at 503-589-0539 in Salem, Oregon. They're the only clinic licensed to prescribe Suboxone for pain. It's $200 cash every month though. They don't take any insurance. They will give you a receipt that you can turn into your insurance to see if they will reimburse you. The doctors name is Dr. Hellman. Their are lots of reviews of her online, all good.

I have been off suboxone for 2 months. When I go see a pain doctor and they check and find out I use to be on the suboxone, they wont give me anything for the pain. I lost both my leg's 4 years ago but I'm walking now, it hurts like hell. I live in DENTON texas. If any one knows of a pain management doctor that is understanding please let me know. I do not care if he does not take insurance. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. DALLAS is fine too.

I was on 80mg of oxycontin 3 times a day and it was no longer helping after taking it for many, many, many years. I switched to Suboxone for my Chronic Pain Mgt. Was on 6mg films for the 1st year and always had extra, as I took them at night. I was shocked how well they worked along with Flexeril for my back, leg and feet pain. Then I was cut to 3mg film once a day. I usually take the 6mg film every other day, and still forget at times, so I may only use 11 instead of 14 in 28 days. I recently tried to cut to the equivalent of 1/3 a day, but the insomnia and anxiety were off the charts after only a few days. At my last appointment it was Student Teaching Day. My Doctor explained how I am there for pain management which is why I haven't been completely we end off the medication. He a...

I have had 4 nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and allergic reaction to suboxone and fentalyn for three herniated discs lower back. I had to go back to oxycontin. My doctor has stopped taking workers' comp and I can't find another pain management doctor that will prescribe meds. I have been told that an operation cannot guarantee being pain free, and may make me worse, which I can't imagine living with. My life is consumed with living with this, and the government should stay out of the doctor patient relationship or question it for people who do not use drugs recreationally or abuse them. Government is scaring doctors away from treating the people who desperately need them. Does anyone know a pain management doctor in Nassau County, South Shore near Oceanside? Thanks ...

I'm on day four of no subs after a 24 mg a day treatment for pain and addiction. I wish i never touched the stuff. My pain management doc reccommended them to me after a year long perc and vic habit. I wish i just would of suffered throught the few days of WD from that instead of going on subs. THEY DID GIVE ME MY LIFE BACK. BUT!!!! They are very very very hard to let go of. The WD is not as intense as dope sick but it is drawn out and mostly mental. The first week is achey and pissed off. I know that because thats how far i got before then started subs again. I'm on day four trying again. I got some valium this time to help me throught the worst of it so I'm hoping I will win the battle this time. I'm at work today and i'm an emt and i'm getting through on energ...

im am trying to get off painkillers no doctor will help i have 4 kids i need to worry about is there any place to buy suboxone leagly ## Unfortunately the only legal way to get Suboxone is through a prescription from your doctor. If you're trying to wean off I would highly recommend visiting a pain management doctor or specialist as opposed to a regular MD, since they are generally less reluctant to prescribe the types of medications. For more information on doctors in your area that are known for prescribing Suboxone and other related medications, I'd recommend checking out the the link below: buprenorphine-doctors.com/find-a-doctor.cfm I hope this helps! ## hi, i am assuming you are a woman, a mom of 4 children, looking to get off of opiates...i agree with david...i myself hav...

Does anyone know a pain clinic that perscribes oxycodone and doesn't judge you? ## Hello, Superm! How are you? Due to the new regulations, all doctors must proceed with extreme caution when prescribing controlled substances, or they risk losing their license to practice medication. Oxycodone is a very potent narcotic analgesic that can be habit forming and is very frequently abused, so you really just have to be prepared to jump through the hoops, if you want a doctor to prescribe it for you. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Do you have a PCP that could refer you to someone? ## If you find one please let me know! ## Looking for pain management clinics or doctors in Kentucky that will accept patients who have been on suboxone for the past two years.

So I'm on sub for pain management. I started it August 2013. I was on upwards of 720 30mg IR morphine and oxycodone with no abuse issues, but most certainly my body was dependent and I felt like the pills were causing more pain than not. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis that started in August of 2009, and so far nothing to treat RA has worked for me. So I entered pain management for chronic pain. Anyway, knowing my body was fully dependent I wanted to w/d in a safe environment away from home and chose a clinic near Boulder, CO. I was expecting them to give me clonadine or something of the sort, but they didn't. In the middle of my w/d, or as I call it, Indian Sweat Hut moment they gave me something to put under my tongue, I slept like a baby. The next morning I woke with a migraine a...
