Trying to find a doc that will prescribe methadone and breakthrough medications. I appreciate any help given. I have herniated discs in my back and a host of other maladies. ## Hello, Stuck! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will no prescribe that I can refer to for you. If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist, now. Do you have a PCP that may be able to refer you to someone? Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

2 weeks ago i had malaria and was given Anti-malarial tablets, but during the course of medication, i started feeling burning in my stomach up to the chest. My Dr gave me Esomeprazole for ulcers and said if it continues i should go in for an endoscopy; but till now the burning continues and I am really so uncomfortable. A friend of mine recommends that i try using Pylokit for treatment. Please advise me ASAP. ## idk what pylokit is, but I do know with omeperazole and sacrafate aka sulcrafate helped tremendously while the omeperazole kicked in. I was able to wean myself of the sacrafate (as ususally this is not a long term solution) eventually after eating a lot of yogurt I got off the ompereazole. Oh my apologies the pylori is the ingredient in yogurt I think it's the healthy bacter...

Can this be a form or substitute of benicar hct ??? ## Hello, Robb! This tablet is manufactured by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and they list is as containing 200mgs of Hydroxychloroquine. The FDA shows this medication as being used to treat or prevent malaria. Its typical side effects may include nausea, blurred vision, headache, unusual bruising and weakness. So no, it is not a substitute for Benicar and will do nothing to treat high blood pressure or a cardiac condition. Bencher contains the active ingredient Olmesartan, which is classified by the FDA as an ARB. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and hypotension. Were you given this in place of Benicar? ## Yes by mistake of the pharmacist....... I noticed that the pills were different tha...

i was given this drug as an alternative for my high blood pressure medication lisiopril seems to be making me feel lousy ## The new medication you've been given combines the ACE inhibitor Lisinopril, with the diuretic Hydrochlorothiazide, which is used to help reduce the amount of water in the body. The addition of the diuretic can cause most side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness and stomach pain. In addition, it creates a very real risk of dehydration, if you aren't taking in enough fluids. Some of the symptoms of dehydration may include: dizziness, leg/muscle cramps, severe malaise/fatigue, increased thirst and hypotension. When taking this medication, you should make sure to take in, at least, 2 liters of liquids, each day. That way you make sure your body has enough fl...

White capsule shaped pill with Watson 716 325 mg on it, what is it? ## Watson 716 325 mg is a now discontinued form of Quinine Sulfate 325 mg from Watson pharmaceuticals (NDC 52544-0716). [1]. Quinine is a medication used to treat malaria and babesiosis. This includes the treatment of malaria due to Plasmodium falciparum that is resistant to chloroquine when artesunate is not available. While sometimes used for nocturnal leg cramps, quinine is not recommended for this purpose due to the risk of serious side effects. It can be taken by mouth or intravenously. Malaria resistance to quinine occurs in certain areas of the world. Quinine is also the ingredient in tonic water that gives it its bitter taste.

Decades ago, as many as 20 indications were on the books for sympathomemetic amines. They continue to be used unabated for many reasons as they are so effective when other drugs had little amelioration for the malady. ## Hi Kim, I appreciate you sharing this topic on sympathomimetic amines. And it seems to me that if many of the types of drugs that fall into this category weren't so heavily abused (such as amphetamine, ephedrine, etc) they would eventually be given more light for other more meaningful uses. The following link from The US National Library of Medicine is a good example of amphetamines being looked at for treatment resistant depression and how psychostimulants should be considered on a more frequent basis for their potential benefits: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3...

How long do the side effects (such as vomiting) last? My husband just started taking this drug and is feeling sick. ## Typically, according to the U.S. FDA, side effects may last about 4 to 5 weeks, until one becomes used to the medication. He may also experience dizziness, headache stomach pain, and flatulence. How is he feeling, now? Has there been any change? Is he on any other medications? ## After only one tablet of Lansoprazole, within a half hour I experienced serious anaphylaxis. It took years for me to find out that Polyethylene Glycol which it contains is a laxative for someone with malabsorption problems; a definite no no. I check every medication for it now. Even Pfizer and Moderna vaccines contain it, so doctors wouldn't give me those. I had Astrazeneca without any prob...

I'm 6wks pregnant and was treated for malaria given quinine 12doses.Also drank some herbal missed with gin . Now my question is my baby safe from deformity? ## Alcohol is never a good idea, while pregnant, in any amount, it could cause fetal alcohol syndrome, according to the NIH, so you need to make sure your doctor is aware that you drank something mixed with gin. As to the use of Quinine during pregnancy, it is the recommended treatment and, according to the U.S. FDA, no risks to the baby have been proven. Are you on any other medications?
