I have chronic neck and shoulder pain and have been getting 30 mg oxycodone outside of the doctor. my friend moved out of state. how can i get a doctor to prescribe them to me? please help running out ## Hello, Nickelboy! How are you? Well, you're not going to be able to go to a doctor and just ask them to prescribe Oxycodone. It is a controlled substance and doctors are taught to view that as being drug seeking behavior, so they'll usually refuse to prescribe anything. You'll need to see a doctor, get a diagnosis and assessment, then discuss your treatment options. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that co...

I am one of the patients of LF MEDICAL SERVICES. DR. MARJORIE LOUIS-JACQU WAS MY PCP DOCTOR. I TAKE 30mg OF OXYCODONE AND CAN'T FIND A NEW PCP. I'VE BEEN GOING BACK & FORTH TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR A MONTH NOW. CAN U PLEASE HELP ME TO FIND A DOCTOR WHO WILL WRITE MY PRESCRIPTIONS FOR ME? I HAVE TWO HIP REPLACEMENTS, LUPUS, AND JUST WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON 9/4/2016 WITH A BAD BODY & BACK PAIN. PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME? ## OMG, I feel SO bad for you. I've also been cut completely off my methadone but the Oxycodone they replaced it with just isn't working for me, and I'm on 30 mg of Oxycodone 4 times a day! Unfortunately, I just turned 71 and had been taking eleven 10 mg of methadone with close supervision by my PCP for over 15 years with absolutely no side effe...

...if the acetaminophen in Percocet enhances its action? I just had surgery for bone spurs and was given oxy, 5mgs. For some reason I thought that oxy would be stronger--I think I heard it somewhere--but now that just seems wrong. For that matter, why prescribe Percocet, given the liver implications, and instead just give people oxy and tell them they may carefully and occasionally supplement it with NSAIDS? ## Hello, Tristan! How are you? Yes, the Acetaminophen potentiates the action of the Oxycodone, for some people. It doesn't work for everyone. Oxycodone by itself works better for some people and, if you look at the FDA information on it, you'll see that it is also available in higher doses that are in different formations, including a time released one for better pain contr...

My back pain is through the roof, I fell off a ladder and cannot get a script. I can barely walk let alone work.I have no insure so I'm kinda up a creak and thw doc wouldn't even think of giving me a script ## The highest mg for Percocet is Oxycodone 10 mg/Acetaminphen 325 mg. If a dr has proof that you are in enough pain, they should prescribe you something for it. But that doesn't mean it will be what you want. You can go to a free or sliding scale clinic or a teaching hospital or public hospital if yuo don't have insurance. You will be charged according to your income. They will probably order diagnostics to see exactly what is causing the pain and making it difficult for you to walk. ## Thats not the highest. There is Percocet 30s. People give out awful advice. Every...

I am currently in rehab recovering from back surgery. I had three herniated disk in my back. My surgeon preformed Anterior Cervical Interbody Fusion surgery. I have been on 2 mg of Oxycodone every four hours around the clock for two months. I am a former heron user and have been clean for 7 years. I tried delaying taking my meds but after 5 to 6 hours, my withdrawal becomes too much. I cannot get the doctors here to understand how drugs effect me as an ex addict. This will not for be nor will I take that chance with my life. It has been great for the past 7 years after 20 years of being addicted. These places give people this drugs and have to plan other than to cut down the dose. I am going to be released in two weeks and have to return to work. I cannot go into detox, I have already b...

How much oxycodone 5mg can I take per day before it affects the Kidneys? ## Hello, Charles! How are you? How many have been prescribed each day? You should make certain that you don't exceed that amount. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. There is no set amount that you can take, before it may affect the kidneys, liver, or other organs. That can vary from person to person and depends on your overall health, pre-existing renal issues and etc.

Oxycodone is is a semi-synthetic opioid medication used for managing moderate to severe acute or chronic pain when other treatments are not sufficient. It may improve quality of life in certain types of pain. Oxycodone combination products are manufactured with Paracetamol (Acetaminophen), Ibuprofen, Naloxone, Naltrexone, and Aspirin.

I'm prescribed 10mg. Oxcys. I went out of town 3 days ago n forgot my med, so I took 5 leftover Norcos I had left in my makeup bag from when my pm doc changed me from Norco to Oxycodone. Does Norco act differently in my body than the Oxy? ## Does it act differently? No, it is also a narcotic and has the same action for alleviating pain. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, if you have a pain contract, you might have violated the terms, so it would be best to inform your doctor of what happened. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What is an alternative or an additive to 60mg of Norco/day? I have severe pain and after 7 years, I must have...

Does anyone understand the new opioid law that was recently passed? It seems doctors can not prescribe 30 milligrams of oxycodone without being hospitalized, or a cancer patient. What is going to happen to all the chronic pain patients? The suicide rate will go up, and illicit drugs will be used as a substitute. This law helps no one, but hurts all chronic pain sufferers. The government has gone crazy, and in their infinite wisdom overstepped their bounds, they are not doctors. ## It isn't that they can't prescribe it, it is just that they have to be very, very careful about doing so, or they could risk losing their license to practice medicine, as well as fines and jail time. This has made many doctors very reluctant to prescribe it and, in most cases, someone has to see a spec...

I was diagnosed 5 years ago with DDS and at first by back pain was minimal. After a year or so it began to get bad enough for me to see the Dr. every 3 months or so for a prescription of Oxycodone and 800mg Ibuprofen. I have since moved and my Dr I have now told me flat out he would not give me "narcotics". Why do Dr's treat us this way. I have medical records showing my valid medical issue. If anyone can recommend a pain friendly Dr who will not make me feel embarrassed to ask for help, please email me. I live in Avondale AZ ## Have you considered a pain management specialist? That would probably be your best bet to get the help you need, since many general practitioners aren't specially trained in treating pain and are reluctant to prescribe for it. One place you can c...

I take 5 of the15 mg Oxycodone per day. Last UA was negative, but I absolutely did take my meds. I drive 30 miles to Dr. and drink lots of water to make sure I can provide required sample. I take Synthroid for Thyroid. I never seem to feel effects of Narcotics when given mess like Dilaudid, Morphine, or Fentyanyl. I have been given these meds in the ER 5 times since 11/15 for dislocating my hip due to botched hip replacement. I am a Christian and do not lie or betray Dr.'s trust. What is wrong, and how can I prevent a false judgement against me because I would not waste anybody's time if I was not telling truth, I am scared that it might happen again and lose my PM status. ## Sorry for the typo's. Can I take lortab 7.5 with oxycodone 15? I am on a whole lot of meds for my knees, hips and back pain with nerve damage. So can I also combine these two meds together? ## You can, as long as your doctor has instructed you to do so. They are often prescribed together to enable better pain control. However, as reported by the FDA, you may experience more severe side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and drowsiness. Are you on any other medications?

I'm on oxycodone and ativan, but the ativan doesn't work with my anxiety. I had back surgery and I had cement put in. I broke 3 vertebrates. Is it safe to ask my doctor to put me on the valium with the oxycodone? When I was in the hospital that's what they were giving me. Even when I left, the valium seemed to help more with relaxing my back and dealing with panic disorder and my anxiety. But my question is, are those two safe to take together? ## Valium is also a benzodiazepine, just like the Ativan, so it will work very similarly for most people. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability. Are these the only medications you are currently taking? ## Sassy, Once your Fracture...

Not everyone is seeking to feel high! Some people just had major surgery on their arm in which they are dependent on a powerful pain reliever to be able to function, combined with physical therapy! Until you have sustained an injury such as this, please don't judge! In my opinion, or at least my situation, I was prescribed a prescription to Percocet, in which I was given Oxycodone, which I believe to be the same active ingredient as Percocet and Oxycontin, except with the anti-inflammatory of acetaminophen. Excuse my misspellings. I'm just interested in the difference! As I don't won't to be a gimp all my life. I'm only 43, and became disabled and unemployed due to a simple fall. ## Yes, Percocet, as listed by the FDA, would contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, not j...

Does anyone know if you can be prescribed Roxicodone and Oxycodone at the same time? ## U cant in Ky. But u can get Oxycodone & hydrocodone both. :) ## It would depend on the dosages and formulations. For instance, some could be prescribed an instant release Oxycodone for breakthrough pain and then a regular release or time released formulation for better and longer pain management. You can learn more Oxycodone details here. But it is the same medication, so you could not legally be prescribed the same dosages of the same formulation, at the same time. And as LadyM mentioned, you can be prescribed different narcotics, without issues, as long as the prescribing doctor feels that you have legitimate reasons for their writing for them. Are there any other questions? ## one is 30mgs of ...

I get 10 mg. Endocodil in Mexico made by BioGenTec. It is supposed to be the same as the oxycontin prescribed to me in the U.S. However it is not the time released version that I prefer, and is very expensive. My mom recently passed for what the coroner said was mixed drug toxcitity. Her Oxycodone level was 3.4mg/L they said it should have been between 0.02 and 0.1. It is possible that my mom could have deliberately OD as she was in a lot of pain and depressed. However, I have heard about build up of oxycodone in the system over a period of time. With older bodies they aren’t able to metabolize the morphine? I’m trying to find some answers and would appreciate any insight.
