90 10mg generic are blue oval ## I have an extremely hard time concentrating on anything for more than a few minutes.(A very short attention span) ## Actually, there may be other generics 10mg tablets that are other colors, the size, shape and color are entirely up to the manufacturer, they do not all have to look the same. Ready to stop taking loratabs ## Have you asked your doctor about using Subutex to get off the Lortab? Most pain management doctors should have a general understanding of what you need to safely get through the withdrawal phase of such medications. In the event that you can't get Subutex, I'd even consider cutting the Lortabs into smaller fractions so you can take a partial dose to help ween down and lessen your need for more addicting meds like Subutex. I only say that because I've been reading a number of posts stating how some people use Suboxone, Subutex, & Methadone to get off one med and they ironically end up getting addicted to those one's as a result of taking them for so long. My suggestion is to take your time tapering off, but your doctor would probably h...

I am currently in rehab recovering from back surgery. I had three herniated disk in my back. My surgeon preformed Anterior Cervical Interbody Fusion surgery. I have been on 2 mg of Oxycodone every four hours around the clock for two months. I am a former heron user and have been clean for 7 years. I tried delaying taking my meds but after 5 to 6 hours, my withdrawal becomes too much. I cannot get the doctors here to understand how drugs effect me as an ex addict. This will not for be nor will I take that chance with my life. It has been great for the past 7 years after 20 years of being addicted. These places give people this drugs and have to plan other than to cut down the dose. I am going to be released in two weeks and have to return to work. I cannot go into detox, I have already b...

Can you get 5mg perks from one doctor and 30mg roxys from another even tho the doctor who wrote the 5mg perks did surgery on a knee and the doc that wrote the 30's roxy's does the pain management b4 the surgery.......will a pharmacy in jersey fill the 30 roxys or r they considered the same? ## Hello, Bob! How are you? No, since the lower dose is the later prescription, you likely won't be able to get that one. It's basically just going to be considered that you don't need it, since you have the other, unless the doctor specifically stipulates that it is to be used in addition to the other. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there an...

Please READ this as I am going to try to explain my best of my experience with these medications. I want to start out saying that life is what you make it. There are millions of people out there with a chemical imbalance such as ADHD, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY etc. With that being said I have all three of them stated above. I went all through high school without being on any medications. I tried some depression pills but never stuck with them but I made it and graduated with a B-C average but I did it. I first was introduced to the drug ADDERALL from my best friend who I worked with at the time. He gave me a 10mg instant release Adderall pill. I was scared to take it because I didn't do drugs besides drink on occasion. So I was scared what it was going to do to me. Well since that day my ...

The top rated ones have habit forming chemicals, like Xanax, Vallium. Are there any medicines that aren't addictive but still effective? ## I am afraid that ANYTHING you take regularly carries a risk of becoming dependent or addicted to it. The main thing of importance is to always see your doctor regularly and only take all medications exactly as prescribed. You are correct that those in the Benzodiazepine family are the most habit forming. You may wish to ask your doctor about some of the antidepressants, such as: Paroxetine: Or Pristiq: Some of them have been used to treat anxiety and have less addictive potential than the Benzodiazpines. Do you have any other questions? ## Yea i already considered anti depressants, but do they really work for anxiety and fear? The main thing abo...

Hello All: Eight years ago I had a gastric bypass losing from 294# to 117# (too low for a 61 yr. old female). Currently 145# & feel good from weight standpoint. I have had many adversities from the bypass with 4 subsequent small bowel resections. I cannot absorb generic meds. This leads me to excess costs on all of my meds. I was changed from brand Lexapro to escitalopram (generic) in June and by Sept., I was suicidal and required intensive treatment until I could get the brand Lexapro. My insurance (Medicare Advantage Plan) is a nightmare to cover any of the brand named meds even when my Psychiatrist states Brand medically necessary. Am also taking Wellbutin SR 450mg/day which is over the recommended max. dose. Dr. is wanting to change me from Wellbutrin SR to Adderall 30mg hoping ...

Ive been on suboxone for 4yrs for chronic pain&addiction but i cant find a sub dr anywhere, will medicaid pay for me to go bk on pain mefs? ## Hello, Phyllis! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. It will actually most likely be the doctors that you'll have a problem with, most will not prescribe pain medications for someone that has had a prior addiction issue. It may be easier for you to just stick with Suboxone, or to use Methadone. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you tried the search engine on the Suboxone website? Suboxone.com click here it lets you search by zipcode for doctors in your a...

is ultram related or in the same family as hydromorphone ## Ultram is not related to hydromorphone. Hydromorphone is Dilaudid, a class 2 controlled substance. A narcotic and addictive pain killer. Ultram is not even a scheduled controlled substance, is not considered a narcotic; HOWEVER, it has been proven to be addictive. Many people have gotten addicted to the tramadol in it. It has 50mg of tramadol in it. Side effects include insomnia, loss of appetite, euphoria, constipation, among others.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can advise me regarding safe, home detox! Finally had my last spinal surgery, two months ago. Have been on strong narcotics for many years now, and really want to be free from all the mind/mood altering substances! Insurance will not cover rehab, so I am really hoping for some realistic, educated advice. I'm on many different medications, but the ones I am specifically concerned about are: oxycontin 240 mgs. p/day, oxycodone 30 mgs. p/day, hydromorphone 48 mg. p/day, soma (these I abuse @ a rough estimate of 350 mgs.x 10-20 per/day), ambien 10 mg. p/day, and xanax 1 mg. p/day. Yes, believe it or not, (except for the soma), one doctor has prescribed all these meds to me, on a monthly basis, for the last six years! As you can imagine, my tolerance is ex...

I would like some opinions on this. I am a 20 yr chronic pain patient, who has an excellent trusting relationship with my doctor. I am only to use one pharmacy of course and over all they are great. On one of my pain meds I have been shorted several times over the past few months. One time it was 20, which I went back and told them to recount the inventory as of the shortage, or I may need to file a police report. They took care of that one. The others have been 5 or under, and I did not say anything, as I want to stay on good terms with them. Any suggestions? Thanks. ## Hello, Jobe! How are you? I had the same problem once, years ago and it was later discovered that someone was pocketing the missing pills to feed their own addiction. Under U.S. law, you should be getting your full pres...

I need to know how to break an addiction to fiorinal ## Fiorinal contains Aspirin, Caffeine and the Barbituate Butalbital. What kind of withdrawal effects you may experience depends on how long you have been taking it and how much you have been taking. I suggest speaking to your doctor. ## Doctors recognize that both physical and pyscholgical addiction may develop from prescription medication use, even following prescribed doses. It is not your fault. Please get help from recognized addiction treatment providers, including your own doctor. One may also develop medication overuse headache or MOH from too-often used meds. Breaking this cycle may be difficult, but can be done with help. Please ask for that help :) You deserve it. God bless. ## Regular use of medication results in what is c...

I have been taking Pregabalin for 15 months at 150 mg daily. I had my hip replaced two months ago and no longer need the meds. How do I taper off, step by step, so as to minimize side effects? ## Lyrica is quite easy to come off. Your Dr could prescribe a lower dose for two weeks or what I did was drop one pill a day for two weeks, then two pills a day for two weeks and so on. I had a bit of a headache but no problem. ## Hello, Rod! How are you? And thanks to Eunie for your helpful response. One caution I would like to add is to please do not stop this medication cold turkey, since it is an anticonvulsant, though it also helps with nerve pain, a sudden withdrawal could cause seizures. Typical side effects to this medication, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, mood swin...
