I was gave morphine while i was in the hospital for my appendix as well as phenagrin and CT contrast. I had a drug screen 6 days later and tested positive for oxymorphone. The dr that done the test said it wasn't possible for the morphine to be in my system that long but my liver specialist said it is possible because I have serrosis of the liver which slows down the metabolic rate of how my system breaks down the drugs. Oxy can show up as Morphine, but I would like to know if it ever goes the other way?.... Will Morphine ever show up as Oxy? Or is anyone aware of any false positives? Or does anyone know of any other related possibilities that would/could make Morphine may show up as Oxy? ## I just was tested I am on oxycodone and oxycotin. I comes up specifically for each drug now. Oxycodone breaks down to morphone, not morphine, not misspelled!!! It also shows as norophone. I have the paper in front of me. Morphine was NOT detected!! They are very drug specific. It even has different types of every individual opiate out there. Even benzo's are specific and muscle relaxers, like soma, flexerill etc.. Hope I helped

Recently was accused by my pain doc of using morphine and hydromorphone. I am prescribed oxycontin, oxycodone plus fioricet with codeine by my neurologist for migraines. I am not sure but was told by my pharmacist that codeine breaks down as morphine and hydromorphone in the body. I do not cheat on my medications. He also did not see the drugs he prescribes in my system which are the oxycontin and oxycodone. My only answer was I assume I had a bad migraine and had taken the fioricet/codeine. I can't take the other meds when I have a migraine due to nausea. I would really like a coposetic answer because I do not take morphine or hydromorphone. I am tired of being accused of something I haven't done. I feel if I have an answer to the break down of the codeine it would be so helpful.

Is it okay to break this tablet in half. It does not has any type of coating to delay its release into the system. It just has a bunch of fillers. I used to be a pharmacy tech. We were taught it was okay to break in half if it was scored, it should only be taken whole if in capsule form or had any type of coating (for slowing the release down.)
