My husband has been taking fentanal patches for 2 years. He chews it after cutting it in strips. He usually does 50 mg to 75 mg a day. He took his last piece yesterday. How long does it take to ween off Suboxone? I've been taking 8 mgs for about 9 months. ## Hi willy, Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, "if possible". Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In my honest opinion though, I think if you took a look at this other thread on Suboxone Abuse, and read post number 42 by James, it would be of great help: You may also want to consider posting in that thread to gain more help and support from these other users with personal experience. Found a small circular pill. Yellow with teva printed on one side and on the other 832 on the other side. Found in my sons room and I just wanna know why he has a full bottle of them hidden away. I have been on generic Subutex for about 3 years. Prior to that I was on Methadone then switched to Suboxone. At 1st I took the Methadone and Suboxone for MAT, as I used to abuse alcohol and drugs. I've been clean from all illicit drugs and alcohol for 9 years. I have severe chronic back pain, prior back surgery, now defective due to post surgery trauma. My doctor is going to switch me to Zubsol, it's the only thing my insurance will cover. Will Zubsol still help with the chronic pain. I can't and don't want to take any if the other narcotics. I've been so strung out on Gabapentin and Flexaril, which severely affect your sleep. I found a little something which is a blessing. Chloral Hydrate. It comes from China. Omg I'm f***n miserable! I didn't think I would have withdrawals this bad after only a month and a half of taking thus drug everyday. It's literally comparable to a milder xanax withdrawal.
