How Strong Is Tylenol 3

i have back problems an i was givin some by a freind ## Because pain medications tend to effect each person differently (due to various levels of pain tolerance and severity), you can't really tell someone "how" strong something like this is. What works for them may not have any effect on you, or vise versa. The Tylenol ER isn't necessarily stronger than other forms of Tylenol (in regards to potency). All it does is simply last longer, since it's an extended-release version of the drug. OTC meds like this also aren't really intended for severe pain issues, but it may help alleviate minor muscle aches & body pain, such as arthritis. I hope this helps!

I've been on Vicodin, Norco,and now Tylenol 3 for pain. I'm getting ready to have knee surgery and than back surgery. I'VE BEEN TAKING THESE PAIN PILLS SINCE MARCH 2014. While the Tylenol 3 has 30mg of codeine and the other has 10 mg of condone wouldn't the Tylenol 3 be stronger ## I have been taking Tylenol 3 for eight years, going 2 to 3 times a day to washroom, eat loads of fruit and fibre. I have to take T3 at least once a day a sometimes not at all Depending on my bowel movements. I take 3 Tylenol 4's a day & just got 7.5/325mg hydrocodone today. Would lortab 10 or tylenol #4 be stronger than 7.5 hydrocodone? I did not get the script filled yet. Thank you. ## Loratab 7.5 is somewhat stronger than Tylenol 4, and normally preffered by pain patients over the codeine in the 4's. The 10's are stronger than the 7.5's. I am a hospice patient and was prescribed 1 - 2 tylenol #3 every 4 hours. I was wondering if this is a strong opiate? I've been taking tylenol #4 with codeine for over 18 years now for pain management. I would like to know what is the next step up because its not as effective anymore. You should not be cutting Hyslinga, it is a time released medication and doing so may result in your getting too much of the medication, at once. However, generally you can take Tylenol with it, as long as your doctor approves. I have been reading some information, and I am wondering if Tylenol 3 is the same as Hydrocodone? ## Based on my research, Tylenol 3 is composed of two analgesic or pain-relieving drugs: Acetaminophen + Codeine. But "NOT" Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is alot like codeine, except that codeine is said to be a natural derivative of opium plants whilst hydrocodone is synthetic. If Tylenol #3 has 30mg of codeine, why are the other meds with 10 mg stronger? ## There are so many generics available for these, now, plus the fact that Codeine is so mild compared to other pain treatment mediations, that there isn't really any name brand for most of them, anymore. They are generally prescribed as Acetaminophen with Codeine, with the appropriate dosages listed. The 325 is just the amount of acetaminophen (Tylenol) that's in it.

has tylenol been taken out of lortab 10/500 ## It hasn't been taken out, but reduced because of the effects on the liver. ## FDA now requires all prescription meds to have no more than 325 mg of tylenol in each dose. There is a form of Hydrocodone that does not contain tylenol. It is an Extended Release, it is Zohydro. ## Lortab 10/500 contains 10 mg of hydrocodone and 500mgs. of acetaminifen (Tylenol) if ya need something strong go on up to percocet (Oxycodine) and come in strengths from 5 MG's of oxy all the way up to 80 MG's. of oxy per pill

That's not advisable, though you may get more benefit by alternating them every 8 hours, if your doctor approves. However, for pain, the best to try first would probably be the Aleve, since it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that can help with both pain and swelling, while the Acetaminophen doesn't help much with swelling, which can easily worsen someone's pain. I usually take 2 lortab 7.5 every 6 hours. I haVe been reading a lot about the different in hydro and oxcy and the Tylenol in and what the numbers mean. Talking with friends who only have limited to none knowledge about the subject I heard about a lortab 10 or lartab 20? Is it more hydro fro pain relief or just more Tylenol added to them? I've had 3 back surgery and I am want more of the burning pain to go away. To me lartabs worked better than oxcy 5 or 10s. ## The highest amount of medication in Lortab, or any other hydrocodone combination med is 10 mg hydrocodone and 325 acetaminphen. The most amount of acetaminphen that a prescription meds can contain now is 325 mg.

I have osteoarthritic hips and run a restaurant, I am on my feet 5-6 hours a day. I currently take meloxicam 3-4 days a week with Tylenol Arthritis.
