Is Roxie 10 stronger than morphine 60just wondering what's best to take I find morphine last longer than Roxie ## Oxycodone is one a half times stronger than Morphine, so, going by the doses you've mentioned, the 60mg Morphine is stronger. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation, it also carries the risk of being habit forming. This is the highest dosage unit of immediate release morphine made anywhere, just the one brand, VERMOR-60 by Verve Healthcare. I take them simply because they are much cheaper than any other morphine sulphate I have ever come across, and I need three 'rescue' doses of an opioid analgesic daily since my Oxycontin 120mg tablets seem to last only 6 hours, and not the twelve claimed on the box... I have been using ER 60 mg morphine sulfate x 2 daily with other meds. No one has this medicine in Tampa area and being legally blind I have no way to go to 50 pharmacies to locate because they won't tell you on the phone. Hi. I have been on 60 mg of morphine sulfate for 3 years. Me and my doctor talked about either upping my dose of morphine or changing it, so we went with a higher dose of morphine. I take morphine 60 mg 2 at a time it has a m on one side 60 on other. I know it's extended release but how much do u get at a time and how long does it last? Plus I can take 5 to 6 30 mgs of oxycodone at a time so how many morphines do I need to equal that? ## Hello, I believe that the absorption rate of any medication is determined by weight and other factors that only your doctor can asses. Is 5 to 6 (30 mg) Oxycodone pills what your doctor prescribed to you? I'm not exactly sure how many grams of Oxycodone will equal 2 (60 mg) Morphine pills, however I do know that Oxycodone is 1.5 times stronger than Morphine. i have been taking 60mg.morphine sulfate with little relief i just started on methadone hcl 10mg. & found them to be stronger & more effective my wife just believes that it is the change but i am convinced the methadone is stronger who is right? ## It would take 15mgs of Methadone to equal each 60mgs dose of the Morphine, so I'd have to give the win to your wife. However, there is a caveat, it may not be just because of the change to a different medication, it could be due to the fact that the Methadone may just work better for you. I find it ridiculous that sooo many people are messing around with schedule II narcotics yet have no clue to the potency, side effects, drug interactions, etc.. are you people not adults? Oxy is indeed a good 1.5% stronger than morphine and not at all subtle like morphine.. Most doses of Oxy that are between 15-30 mg are IR's not ER (extended release like most morphine)... I have had 6 back surgerys with pins,screws and many of fusions.over the past 5 years or more have been on oxycodone 10-325 4 to5 times a day. Now with new pain management on 5-325 oxycodone 2 a day for break through and 15 mg morphine sulfate every 12 hrs. In pain consistently. The above medicine was recently changed from OxyContin 40mg CR to Morphine Sul Tab 30 MG ER due to Insurance not covering the OxyContin. when I went for a refill after hospital discharge medication ran out! I cant see that morphine 15 mg does anything for me. I was taking 40 mg oxcontin twice a day and something else for breakthrough pain. Since going on medicare supplement insurance I can't get the oxycontin through the company. I was taking dilaudid for the breakthrough pain but living, in Florida, I can't find it at all here. Does Oxcodone do as good as the morphine? I don't know that I can even get that here though. They have cracked down so much on what is dispensed in Florida that any meds is hard to get. My medicine has been changed from oxycodone 30 mg with opana 60mg to the oxy 30 with morpine sul 30 mg er** I was wondering will it work as well? ## Oxymorphone / Opana is quite a bit stronger than morphine, so unless your taking alot more morphine pills I can't see how it can. But maybe you will have a good reaction to it.
