Dr states they are equal. 1 mg clonazapam is to 1 mg of Xanax . Totally different He stopped 2 mgs a day without any concern of withdrawal because he gave me 3 mg a day of clonazapam. Anxiety has doubled and it does not take effect as quick ## I've only taken 2 Klonopin in my life in an attempt to possibly switch over and I found that same near instant relief from anxiety without feeling weird like when I tried Ativan. It totally worked ## Ram man, As eddy stated most seeking relief from anxiety find clonazepam ( klonopin ) effective It WILL NOT produce the same sedative euphoria that Xanax and other traditional benzo's tend to.As such it's often used as a step down substitute for those dependent on Xanax . The dosage prescribed 1 mg. three times daily is appropriate and qua...

I had my knee surgery yesterday and am on hydrocodone 10/325. It manages pain pretty well but it seems to make me itch. I plan to call the Dr, but would like to know an equivalent pain medicine that I may tolerate better for this? Not taking it or not taking it as often results in significant increase in pain. ## Hello, Kalisnick! How are you? Percocet might be an alternative that you can try. It contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you have hives with the itching or are you just feeling itchy? If there are no hives, then it may be just a side effect that will eventually go away, as your...

Since the above tablet is expensive, I was looking for a substitute. Does anyone know of any that are available? ## What country are you in? If I have this information, I may be able to get some idea of what else is available for you. Nervup-OD is actually a nutritional supplement, it contains: lpha lipoic acid 100mgs, folic acid 1.5mgs, mecobalamin 1.5mgs and pyridoxine 3mgs. It is often given to help people that have certain types of nerve pain, since a lack in these vital nutrients can contribute to or cause it. Have you tried asking a pharmacist for a cheaper alternative that has the same ingredients?

I have high anxiety and high blood pressure cardiologist subscribed Bystolic after reading reviews I am so scared to take this drug I understand some side effects are normal but not seizures whay do I do ## Hello, Kelli! How are you? If you have high blood pressure, you are at far greater risk from not taking the medication than you are from taking it. High blood pressure creates the risk of heart attack, stroke, congestive heart failure and many other possible health problems, many of which could be fatal. As to Bystolic's side effects, the most commonly experienced ones reported by the FDA including headache, dizziness and fatigue. Seizures are very, very rare and most people that take this medication do not experience them and they are most often due to overdose. Have you started...

I have been takeing a weight lose medacine and i havent takeing methadone in a year and a helf but i tested postive for methadone in a urian test . How long does methadone stay in fat cells??? ## Hi happy, From what I've been reading Methadone is considered to be very fat soluble, and with chronic use, can remain in your fatty tissue for quite a while. How long exactly? I don't know, but the time it takes may be substantially different for everyone depending on how much body fat we carry, what our diet is like, our metabolism, how often you used to take the medication, what dosage you took it at, and several other underlying factors. Were you taking any other types of medications or dietary supplements at the time that could've caused a false reading? ## I was always told a ...

There are generics available for the drugs that are in arthrotec and I am wondering if it will be as effective if I take them separately. It would be a lot less expensive. ## You can find Arthrotec 50 for about $ .50 per pill versus approximately 8 times that price from an americam drug company. These are made by Pharmicia Limited (a Pfizer subsidery) ## Yes, taking them separately will still work the same as taking them combined in one medication. It is often done, if it is cheaper for someone than buying the combined, or name brand medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Arthrotec is listed as containing Diclofenac and Misoprostol. Is there anything else I can help with?

Ia Lunesta a controlled substance. Medco is only refilling it once when my doctor prescribed it for 12 months ## The reason they are doing that has nothing to do with the drug class, it actually could be due to one of two reasons: Your insurance and what they cover. Most insurance companies set up a certain list of drugs they will cover and how often and they will not allow refills on some items that they do not consider necessary for long-term use, you will need to see your doctor for a refill or have them phone one in whenever you need one. They also don't want to be laying out the money to cover regular refills every 30days on a drug that you might not be using that often or you might stop taking after awhile. Another possible reason has to do with how your doctor prescribes it, ...

I have a CVS (Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome) condion. I experience alot of pain during a cycle. Lyrica works so far. I have experienced no vomiting or nausea during these days. But the side effects are kicking my butt. Dizziness, blurred vision, hyper, I can't stay seated. Staying up very late. Do these side effects subside or go away after the body get adjusated? I'm wired! I'm 43 years old and need to relax. ## I wanted to talk to the person that has CVS! My son has it too, was wondering how they diagnosed you and how often episodes occur. ## I had to see a GI doctor who did a stomach emptying test to rule out gastroparesis, an h. pylori test to rule that out, I had an upper endoscopy years ago otherwise they would do that. If I'm taking Norco 10/325 mg how many pills can be taken in a 24 hour period? ## everywhat the doseage, the Dr. recommends, if you need a increase speak with him about it ## To add some specifics… It is actually the Acetaminophen in these that causes most of the problems related to overdose toxicity, rather than the narcotic Hydrocodone. It isn't safe to exceed 4,000mgs a day, taking more than that may be fatal and, even if you don't suffer fatal effects, you could cause severe liver damage, or go into liver failure. It is often thought to be extremely safe, since it's available over the counter in most countries, but Acetaminophen can actually be a very dangerous substance if used improperly. You can learn more Vicodin details here. Are there any comm...

Hi all. If this is relevant, I'm 20, male, and I've been taking Vyvanse for my ADHD for about a year. It has been a godsend to my GPA, but I do encounter some negative side effects from it: 1. Diarrhea. This happens consistently, about 20-30 minutes after taking vyvanse, which is pretty much how long it takes for me to notice the neurological effects of the drug. I have never, in my life, been so good at bathroom reader sudoku. With that said, this is still a problem to me. 2. Lack of appetite. I pretty much have to stuff my face before taking vyvanse, because once it is in effect, my stomach might as well be vacuum-sealed for the subsequent 8+ hours. In this time, food never even crosses my mind, and I often simply /forget/ to eat. 3. Impotence. Yeah, yeah- let's get all th...

Hi, my mom was placed on Lisinopril 10mg to lower her HBP. Unfortunately we noticed the dry cough. With the approval of the Doc., she was placed on Nifedipine 20mg to be taken two times daily. Sadly, its been two weeks since she stopped using Lisinopril but the cough is still there(it just subsided a little). She is also managing diabetes. Is it alright for her to use cough meds? ## Hi, Nikky! How are you? Sorry about your mothers cough. The Nifedipine usually doesn't cause it as often, but it can cause a cough, as well, in some people that take it. Has she consulted her doctor, again? Learn more Nifedipine details here. I have a pimple on my tongue I get them often ,is there anything I can do to avoid this ,and how would I treat it thanks ## Hello, Barbara! How are you? Inflamed taste buds are something we all experience, at one point, or another, but they are really harmless and just annoying, since they tend to sting and hurt. Generally, these infected ones occur due to spicy stuff, highly acidic stuff, trauma to the tongue and some medications. Once they occur, there's not much to be done, but to let them run their course, they'll eventually go away on their own. Ice on the tongue, or swishing with a baking soda solution may help alleviate the discomfort, according to the NIH. To avoid them in the future, you need to figure out what is causing them and avoid that substance in the future. Is ...

how often do you take them and how many pills per day? ## Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach, to treat or prevent conditions such as heartburn, GERD, ulcers and gastritis. And the dosage really depends on the condition being treated and its severity. For mild conditions, such as heartburn, a doctor will usually advise one daily, just before a meal. However, for more severe conditions, a person may require a higher dosage and a doctor will sometimes split it up into 2 daily doses. What has your doctor advised? ## Actually i am having omepraz d capsules for stomach pain i would ask you is there any other substitute for this

I used Gelmicin in Mexico to relieve the itching of bug bites... it seemed to work well but want to know if it really did work or was it a placibo effect? ## Hello, Douglas! How are you? When you have itching or irritation from bug bites, it is actually due to an allergic reaction to various components in their saliva, for instance, mosquito saliva contains a substance that helps keep the blood from clotting, for awhile, so they can feed and the raised welt with itching is due to your body having an allergic reaction to it…. That said, and getting to my point, one of the ingredients in Gelmicin is a steroid, Betamethasone, and they are often used to treat allergic reactions, because they can help reduce the body's immune response, as well as reduce the inflammation, so no, it ...

I have taked oxycodone and hydrocodone over the last 30 years due to chronic kidney stones (I have passed, or had removed, well over 50 stones in my lifetime) and a severely scarred ureter on my left side. Often I go several days without having to take a half of a Hydrocodone 5/325. That is my "go to" dose when my side starts to ache, and it usually takes the edge off. If not, I will take another half, or if it seems to be getting worse, an Oxycodone 5mg. They work just fine, but if I take an Oxy near bedtime. I won't get to sleep for about 6 hours. I don't feel agitated or hyped up, I just can't get to sleep. During the daytime, if I have to take an Oxy, I don't feel much other than the pain subsiding and a little bit of a euphoric feeling. On my sleeping pills it says "Apo-Zopiclone"... Then in brackets on the prescription label it says GLA. My question is, what does APO mean...and what does GLA mean? Thank you. ## What's APO 37.5/25 on my sleep medications stand for ## In Canada, and some other countries, medications are often listed according to manufacturer, and name of the actual chemical, so in this case, the APO stands for the manufacturer Apotex. The GLA stands for the distributor, since Apotex licenses their products to several companies for dissemination across the country. The 37.5/25 is the designated dosage of the substances in the relevant medication. Zopiclone may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, sleep actions, and next day hangover-like effects. Years ago Nubain used to be a popular and effective drup for pain. It was the only thin that relieved my mom's back pain or my migrain headaches. I am a nurse and haven't heard of anyone getting Nubain in years so I asked an MD recently. He couldn't give me an answer. If it's not classified as a narcotic and relieves pain, why aren't more doctors prescribing it? ## Nubain contains the active ingredient Nalbuphine, which is still considered an opioid, though you are right, it is not classified as a narcotic and doesn't fall under the controlled substances act. I am not sure why it isn't used more often, though it may be due to the fact that it was found much more effective in women and it can actually increase pain in men. This fact actually resulted in the U....

My doctor prescribed the liquid hydrocodone/APA 7.5-500mg/15ml to me for pain. The pharmacy label says to take 1 TEASPOON every 6 hours. This seems unusual given that this dosage seems to be most often given in 15ml doses as opposed to the 5ml in a teaspoon. I took it as the label recommended and honestly can't tell a bit of difference. Is it possible that the pharmacy mislabeled? Based on what I have read, I should be safe to 15ml at a time, right? I sure would like to take the full dose tonight so I can finally get some rest. ## What does the pharmacy list for the dosing amounts in the 5ml? Did you check to see if they substituted? They sometimes do that if they don't have the dosing form that your doctor prescribed in stock. Have you called the pharmacy to ask? If they just m...
