How Much Xanax Should You Take

I have a freind that has taken 12 xanex bars he has taken 8 in the past. He is very troubled and I want to know how much can a body take when they are use to taking so many at a time. ## here is the deal. benzos react wtih your GABA receptors. and taking that many bars is NOT good for your brain chemistry because it alters it. Meaning your GABA receptors wont fire liek you use to due to the receptor expecting some sort of drug. So if no drugs come than the GABA receptors cant produce naturally the right dose. Same with other respectors and drugs. TAKING SO MANY IS VERY DANGEROUS. you make like 6+ bars and do some heron or do some oxy along with a couple shots and your friend could end up dead. How long does it take 1mg xanax to enter your system? ## Quickly, 20 minutes or so! ## From what I could gather, Eddy's estimate was right on spot! It usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes max to start feeling the effects of Xanax. However, timing can also depend on the dose, your tolerance, and how much food you might have in your stomach at the time. Other benzotype medications such as Klonopin are long acting and can sometimes take up to an hour to notice relief. But if you're taking a lower dose of Xanax (immediate release) with no tolerance, I'd imagine that you'd notice it working within the first 15 minutes or so. I have about 17 Bottles of 90 2 mg bars or pills. My Doctor wanted me to have extras due to a withdrawal incident. The Doctor no longer is practicing, my new Doctor wrote for the same amount but now he is gone too. I'm not worried about running out for the next couple years, but what does concern me is possessing a giant amount of controlled medicine. How do I explain this quantity? Some of it was from 2010, most from 2011, technically expired, along with some newer scripts from the last 8 months. Usually you are not supposed to obtain a refill until we run out. I am going to France for 51 days and my physician has prescribed enough Xanax to take with me for the trip, but the pharmacy says it is not legal to dispense that much all at once. It is obviously impractical to return to the US for a refill. Is there some exception so I can go on this trip? ## Depends on how the Doctor wrote the prescription. There might be too many pills allowed for travel. Perhaps the doctor can write for a stronger quantity. What does the label say, what reason did the pharmacist give you? I'd look up the law before going as you don't want to be without your medication

My girlfriend died from aspirating on vomit from xanax and i'm trying to find out how much she might have taken for such a fatal dose? ## Hello, Burlington! How are you doing? I am so very sorry for your loss. But such a death would not be directly attributed to the amount of Xanax she took, but rather just to the fact that she likely took too much, passed out and then got sick, so she choked. Thus, there is no answer that I can really give you on how much would have been required, because it can vary from person to person. She could have taken 3 or 4, or as many as 20 to 30. Did the coroner do an autopsy? If so, were there any toxicology reports?

I'm on 8 mg.'s of xanax a day unfortanetly & the green bars that break into thirds is xanax (1 mg in the middle, two .5's on each side i've been told). I've gotten them many times & they're not the strongest form, that would be the round 2 mg's (white). ## What may be the strongest and most effective for you, may not necessarily be such for everyone that uses this medication. Why are you taking so much? Is your doctor aware of this? That is double the normal maximum daily dosage.

i got omnes that were rounded at the edges and thicker than usual. i would like tooo know what they contain and if they have aNY alprazolam in it. i dont feel much when i take it ## Where did you obtain them? If they weren't from a legitimate U.S. licensed pharmacy, then there's no way to be sure what you've received. Pills can be very easy to fake and if they don't look the way they normally do, then they are most likely highly suspect. ## I know on scheduled drugs you usually get a 5 day grace period if you run out early. I always schedule my next dr.s appoint 5 days before scrip runs out and they always fill them

Does anyone know the ingredients (with amount of each ingredient) and equipment needed to make alprazolam or xanax at home? ## No, it's really much more complicated than what you could do in your home and manufacturing such things, when you are not licensed to do so, is considered illegal in the U.S. This refers to both personal use, or for selling. I have just been changed to this brand in two mg pills. Light green in a bar shape. I though it was ok at first but it gets hot here in Kansas but I can take it. I began to notice a very high intolerance to the humidity. After about a week if stepped outside I started feeling sick. Later if I stepped into the sun I became very ill. How can I quater a green bar? They only break into 3's? ## These bar shaped pills are generally only meant to be broken into 3's. In this case you'd probably have to measure out your own lines before cutting it into four sections. Alternatively, I would suggest discussing this "dosage issue" with your doctor, so that you don't have to keep cutting your pills into four sections in order to get a small enough dose. From what I could tell, there are plenty of different dosage options available for Xanax. You may want to consider switching over to lesser strength if breaking the pill becomes too much of a hassle. Has anybody taken Contrave with Xanax? I'm not at a point I would give up Xanax (1 pill a day) for Contrave, because of ongoing reasons .. but I have read several people say Contrave left them with terrible headaches and I have read benzos can be affected by Contrave (which Xanax greatly reduced my daily headaches). So, just curious if anybody has been on both and if so if they felt one counteracts the other or resulted in any other side effects? ## From what I'm reading in the FDA warnings is that it depends on how much Xanax you take, taking too much of it with the Bupropion in the Contrave creates a risk of seizures, so does suddenly withdrawing from it. These are white, correct size,, oblong oval, and have a score in middle? ## It's not likely that Xanax would have no markings; but that would probably depend on where you obtained the pill from; if you got it outside of the U.S. or by any other means besides other than a valid prescription. U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have a unique imprint on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance and dosage. i was in the hospital friday and saturday. when i got out and opened my drawer my pills were gone. what should i do? ## Did you report it to the police? If not, then you probably won't have much luck getting them replaced. Just telling your pharmacy, or doctor that it happened, without any police report, or anything to back it up isn't like to merit any assistance.
