Since being told about pancreatitis and gallstones until I am cleared for surgery am living in constant pain. Can't have normal existence that once was. The meds are so unbelievably expensive so I'm trying to find a way to just be happy and pain free until I can be fixed. ## I have cirrhosis of the liver and also have hepatitis c. The Dr's suggest I get on the liquid methadone but I can't get a way to the clinic in peoria Illinois everyday and can't afford the cost. I'm dependent on opiates and I need help before I die due to liver damage. ## @Karen, I haven't heard much about COD (cash on delivery) when it pertains to filling mail-order prescriptions... But one thing I would encourage you to do is contact the usual pharmacy you fill your scripts at and see w...

Trying to substitute 20mg oxycodone 3x a day with vicodin. How many vicodin a day would equal? ## Hello, Cici! How are you? You should not take more than your doctor has prescribed. The ratio, however, would be 30mgs of the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin to each 20mgs of Oxycodone. The problem is the Acetaminophen that is also in Vicodin, it is dangerous to take too much of it in any 24 hour period. Thus, if the current dose you've been prescribed of Vicodin does not help you, it would be much safer to speak to your doctor about adjusting your dosage, or trying a different medication. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My doctor has me on 10mg every 4-6 hours. Is this dosage safe? I was on Norco 10mg every 4-6 prior to this and this pain reliever seems much more powerful. ## Hi DeDe, The dosing instructions for this drug are as follows: "Dosage should be adjusted according to the severity of the pain and the response of the patient. It may occasionally be necessary to exceed the usual dosage recommended below in cases of more severe pain or in those patients who have become tolerant to the analgesic effect of opioids." The "usual" adult dosage is one tablet every 4-6 hours as needed for pain; so what you're doing now is fine. It may just be that you aren't used to the strength of oxycodone and therefore may or may not feel the need to use a lower dose, equivalent to that of Nor...

I am curretly taking Oxycodone. I was taking Methodone, and I am still having no luck with my pain and all the doctors I have seen won't give me anything stronger. Can I take both kinds of pills to help get rid of the pain? ## white round pill with watson 932 ## Its not a good idea at all! Your doctor may have short changed you when he did the conversion? I took Methadone for 11 years before switching to Oxycontin 3 months ago. The switch was very difficult! I had Methadone withdrawals for 3 weeks which made my pain even worse. I continued to hurt much more than I ever had while taking Methadone but my pain doc wanted me to give it 2 full months. I was about at wits end when the 2 months were up. That's when my doc reworked the conversion and admitted he short changed me because...

I take 5 mgs. of percocet twice daily for approximately 2years now. I am so tired of taking them. today I didn't take any and I feel a pressure in my head. My last one was about 12 midnight. Is this gonna get worse? ## Hi BB, The exact progression of oxycodone withdrawal may be different for each individual. However, from what I hear, symptoms tend to get worse over the first few days before leveling out. Usually for drugs like this, the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, under a doctor's supervision; if possible. Failure to taper may result in much more severe withdrawal symptoms than you might originally anticipate; and could even prolong the withdrawal process over several weeks. For some people with a high tolerance, 10mgs is not a lot. But since you'v...

How much is too much? Is it safe to consume alcohol while taking Oxycodone 80mg? ## How much is too much of a naroctic depends on your individual body chemistry and your tolerance. The longer you use a narcotic substance, such as Oxycoodone, the more your body gets used to the dosage and the more you will eventually need to use to get the same effects from it. If this has not been prescribed for you, then you should be aware that this is a very dangerous drug to use without a doctors supervision. It can have serious side effects and is highly addictive. As to using it with alcohol, NO, that is very, very dangerous. You should never combine any narcotics with alcohol. ## you should never, never, mix oxy. 80 mg, with alcohol. you might not wake up. its one or the other, not both ## In fac...

I found 4 year old expired oxycodone in my medicine cabinet and I would like to know if its still safe to take? I don't know much about medicine so I'll just write what the label says: OXYCODONE W/APAP 5/325 TAB MCK subsituted for percocet and the pill has a 512 stamped on it? ## If you are asking if it becomes dangerous as it ages, the answer is no. It does not, however, these medications will lose potency over time, so it may no longer work as well as it did when it was new and may have no efficacy left at all. Taking more, to try to relieve pain can be dangerous, since these also contain Acetaminophen and too much of that can be toxic, to the point of being fatal. The wisest idea is to properly dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription if you need help with p...

My husband, just had a rod takin out of his leg, and the gave him 10mg oxycodone, but one isnt helping. Wanted to see how many he could take safely to help with the pain.... ## It's kind of difficult to say given the limited information in your post. How tolerant is he to opiates? Has he been taking them for a long time? Learn more Oxycodone details here. When it comes to narcotics, a lot of it depends on the person's body and tolerance to them. Someone that's used to taking them regularly can tolerate much higher doses safely, than someone that rarely takes them. The best suggestion I can make is to call his doctor and tell them that the current dose isn't helping.

I take oxycodone 5 mg for back pain. I got the new K18 tablets and I read on another forum that you cant dissolve these pills. I have swallowing issues and have always chewed them. It's confusing because there is a score on the pills so I always thought that meant you could break them in half. I don't feel the effects of these pills much and I am wondering what you know about these tamper proof pills and can a person request pills and can these be safely and effectively broken in half? ## Is there a coating on the K18 Oxycodone tablets that prevents them from being water soluble? ## Round & White Oxycodone tablets with imprint K 18 (NDC 10702-018) contain the following inactive ingredients: - Lactose Monohydrate - Starch, Corn - Cellulose, Microcrystalline - Silicon Dioxide ...

Any ideas on meds to take to offset it I know my body will hurt for a while ## Hello, Mrs. ATC! How are you doing? The severity of your withdrawals will really depend on how long you've been taking such medications and a slow taper is really best, because it will help minimize them, as much as possible. I've never taken oxycodone/acetaminophen 7.5/325 in my life until yesterday for pain. I took a total of 1 3/4 pills total and don't plan on taking any more. I took 1/2 pill at 10 am, another 1/2 at 2 pm, 1/2 at bedtime and this morning I cut the remaining 1/2 pill in half and took that at 7 am. When would it be safe to drink wine? It is now 12 hours after I took the last 1/4 pill. ## Hello, Olivia! How are you? After 12 hours it should fine, but it would be best to double check with your pharmacist to be certain. The main reason you are told not to drink with it is due to the way alcohol tends to worsen the side effects, which can include depression of the central nervous system. In some cases, if someone indulges in too much of either one, there is a risk of death, according to...

My pain from an old broken neck was not helped by Norco 10 so my doc prescribed oxycodone 15 mg 4x daily. It didn't help but I kept it up. After 3 weeks my pain level was much higher than it had ever been and I began having severe deep muscle seizure cramps which got worse and very serious. I told my doc and he said stop those meds immediately. Some people can have a life threatening reaction to oxy. Be careful with it. . Everyone be safe out there. ## Hello, Cruncheo! How are you? It's always possible for some people to have a life threatening reaction to any medication, even seemingly innocuous over the counter products. Does anyone know of a new (or new to me) Oxycodone 30 mg with a coating? The coating is just like what's on Oxycontin. The only ones I've been prescribed so far are the blue M's. Look identical but have the coating. They really don't taste like any type of oxy. They are very strong. I can feel it all the way down my arms to the tips of my fingers! I wasn't really looking for these effects - just need pain relief for my hip and back. Anyway I am having trouble finding info on the Internet about these "new" 30s. I just need to know that they are in fact oxy and are safe? They're so strong that it worries me a little. Any comments are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!?? ## Hello, Charlotte! How are you? I took a Robaxin, Gabapentin and an Oxycodone together and I just wanted to know if that was safe? ## According to FDA warnings, taking all 3 of them together could cause increased depression of the central nervous system, which could result in increased insomnia, dizziness, and drowsiness. Taking too much could result in coma, and possible death. How are you feeling? Did you experience any problems?

I'm on 30mg of oxycodone with 342mg express pain relief containing ibuprofen lysine and extra power reliever tablets containing paracetamol, aspirin and caffeine is this ok ## Hello, Mavis! How are you? Both Ibuprofen and Aspirin are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so you shouldn't be taking them both. It's safer to stick with one or the other, to avoid overdosing yourself. As reported by the FDA, you also increased your risk of bleeding and possibly experiencing a stomach ulcer by taking too much of them. Oxycodone is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have a small bottle of oxycodone concentrate liquid and I take three 30 mg tablets at once, 3 or 4 times a day. So I have a high tolerance and I'm trying to figure out how much I can take of the liquid to be safe? How long does it take for oxycodone liquid to work? ## You would need to do a conversion to determine the amount of Oxycodone per ml of liquid solution. Typical concentrations are either 20mg per ml of liquid, or 5mg per 5ml of liquid (per this site's dosage list on the Oxycodone page). So first off, is the concentration listed on the bottle? If so then you would need to measure out the appropriate amount of liquid by doing a conversion. For example, if your body is used to a 60 mg dose of tablets (which is very high, by the way), then the goal would be to take the c...

Can I take oxycodone and dilaudid and be on the fentanyl patch at the same time safely? ## Hello, Hauler! How are you? Has your doctor prescribed all of these? The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
