Does percocet come in 20mg? ## I'm assuming you're referring to the amount of the narcotic in it, the Oxycodone? If so, then NO, it does not. Percocet, which contains the Oxycodone, coupled with Acetaminophen, is only available in a maximum dosage of 10mgs Oxycodone and 650mgs of Acetaminophen. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness. (It should be noted that as a separate medication, by itself, Oxycodone IS available in much higher dosages!) ## Percocet comes in 15 and 30 mg tablet too so apparently you don't know what you're talking about {editor's note: message deemed inaccurate} ## That's wrong - Percocet come in 5mg. 7.5mg and 10 mg. That's it. You must be talking about Oxycodone by itself! ## {message removed due to...

Please do not waste your funds on these pills IP/204.They do not,I repeat they DO NOT WORK.I've never posted on any of these forums but it upsets me that I've wasted my money and I don't want anyone else to go through what I'm going through, still in much pain with no help at all. ## Hello, Ashley! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you've had. These tablets contain 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, there can be slight fluctuations from one generic medication to another, so this one might be slightly lower than the ones you're used to taking, which could explai...

Given that federal law permits generic pharmaceutical manufacturers to diminish principle ingredient(s) by as much as -20% (i.e. minus 20% as compared to the principle amount in the original or "brand" version), I am attempting to find a generic producer of Percocet that has proven to be more effective for others in situations like or similar to mine. Due to a hard fall, I sustained an injury called spondylolethesis (i.e. shifting vertebrae) from L4, L5, & S1. Corrective surgery was required involving a vertical abdominal incision below the navel and two low-back incisions on either side of lumbar spine to allow installation of the appropriate orthopedic spine hardware (e.g. screws, rods, posts, etc.). Since the post-op pain has only increased from surgery 2 wks. ago, and th...

Is a Tylenol 4, white round pill with 2065 v and 4 on other side, equal to a Percocet 10? Was just prescribed this from emergency room. But I have not taken it before. My doctor has me taking 4 Percocet 10's a day for back pain. Now have 2 healspurs and tendinitis and sprained ankle and in so much pain! Help please? ## Hello Marie! How are you? Codeine is actually weaker, so each one of the Tylenol 4 you take is only equivalent to about 6mgs of Oxycodone. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics. They carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Most ERs will not prescribe the more potent medications, such as Oxycodone, anymore. To get something stronger to help with more p...

What happens if you take expired Percocet? ## When did it expire? If it is within one year, it is still as potent as if it were still in date. All Rx's usually start losing their effectiveness at a rate of 5-20% each year. But otherwise safe to take expired unless discolored or crumbling. ## Well at least Im not the only one that knows the OP's dont work, and the old OCs were the brand until the end of last year. The old OCs work. I know that Walgreens had the OC's as generic but then was told not to sell them as Generic but sell them as brand. I did fill a perscription with 40 OCs brand and then noticed that they said OC on them. I have called a lot of Walgreens and they don't say much over the phone. I had two percrips filled as brand and saw that they were OCs. Now wh...

Same as above how many mg Percocet are usually taken for pain relief. What is a high dose and how often are 20 mg taken ## The highest available dose of Percocet, according to the FDA website, contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so there is no 20mg dosage available in the U.S. Were you referring to just Oxycontin tablets? They are available in a 20mg dosage, but do not include the Acetaminophen and they're in a time released formulation. It is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. As to how much is taken, that may differ from person to person, depending on what dose best controls their pain and what dosage their doct...

I was taking an oblong white Percocet 10/325, my pharmacy has changed to a round white 10/325 pill which is to me much stronger. Can there be such a difference in the same prescription but different manufacturers? With the round pill I feel tired and checked out. The other pill I didn't seem to have any effect unless I took my klonopin at the same time. ## Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984 the FDA allows the generics to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus, or minus 20%. Thus, it is possible that one may be stronger than another, since generic manufacturers don't have to measure against each other, only against the name brand. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects,...

have been taking generic percocet just filled the real percocet but the real does not seem to work like the generic one , is there a difference between the 2? ## They both contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, however yes, there can be differences between the name brand and the generic. The name brand is much more precisely manufactured. In order to be approved by the FDA and continue to be marketed it, they have to manufacture under strict regulations that ensure you get the proper dosage of the active ingredients. But, to make the manufacturing process easier and cheaper, the generics do not have to be controlled as strictly. Under federal law, they are allowed to vary in the active ingredients by as much as plus or minus 20%. This means that when taking the generic, you may have been ...

Are all generic percocet the same exact formula? The 4839V works fine for me but I just took 1 pill marked RP on one side and 5 325 on the other and felt really sick - numbness in feet, shallow breathing, chest pain. I've been taking percocet for breakthrough pain for years and never had this happen. ## My mother just received a new bottle of percocet 5 325 with R P on the other side. It does not seem to be working like OTHER brands she has received in the past??? I took one, which should have knocked me out due to my low tolerance. It did NOTHING! ## Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brands, in the amount of the active ingredients, by as much as plus or minus 20%, the FDA considers this to be an acceptable therapeutic window and it was...

I have chronic back pain due to a torn rotator cup, herniated disk and chronic arthritis. Had surgery on my rotator cup in feb of 2013....About 6 months later the pain was back and terrible... My dr did an mri and it showed a worse torn rotator in 3 spots. He had me do 6 weeks of pt, which was no help, then put me on percocet three times daily and it made a huge difference... I still had some pain but was able to do so much more. Now since the fda changed all these laws, I am in chronic pain constantly....It kills me to just take a shower. I live alone right now and cannot do surgery again and be on my own. I dont have family or friends to help like that. So since all the laws changed they had me on tylenol #4's.....3 times a day. Now...They wont continue with those!! When laws chan...

I have been seeing a doctor that refuses to prescribe my Percocet. I have recent MRI films that show disc degeneration, spurs, disc bulging and I have lost all of the curve in my neck. I have been on total disability since 2005.Since she substituted them with Tramadol and Soma muscle relaxants, I have been in so much pain that I cannot stand or walk for any period of time. I can only lay propped with pillows. Since this, I have gained around 80+ pounds in a little over a years time! I am miserable! Please help! ## I know of a dr that will give you the Percocet you are needing in Ocala. His name is Dr. Zhou and he is in the Florida Pain Management and Rehabilitation Clinic. I am a cancer patient and this amount scares me. I have never heard of taking three every 4 hrs. I have taken 2 before after my lymph node removal but never 3. Is this really safe? ## Hi Desiree, I can certainly understand your concern about taking too much Acetaminophen. 325mgs x 3 = 975mgs and then multiply that by 6 times daily (if taken every 4 hours) and you get 5850mgs of Acetaminophen - aka - a very toxic blow to your liver. Prior to 2016, the maximum daily dose of Acetaminophen was marked as high as 4000mgs... As of now, the new maximum was brought down even further to 3000mgs, to ensure liver health isn't compromised. If I were you I would not take nearly as much as was recommended; but I would encourage you to talk with the doctor about the idea of taking regular Oxycodone...

I have 3 herniated discs in neck and back and bulging discs. Also arthritis in my whole spine. Also, neuropathy in my feet. I'm almost 70. I have been taking 20mg Percocet 8am and 10 - 15mg at 3-4pm. What should I expect, if I continue as I am? I have tried going without 3 times now and can't do much of anything, but sit on hot packs in a chair all day. ## Some people do require such a medication for the rest of their life, it is nothing to be ashamed of, or worried about, as long as you aren't abusing them. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you taking Percocet, or just Oxycodone? Percocet contains Oxycodone with Acetaminophen. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! ## Thank Yo...

There is a noticeable difference in the pain relief level. Chronic Arthritis has left me virtually an invalid. Without these meds I have extreme difficulty moving and sometimes merely being at rest. I find the same prescription filled with Midlothian mgf to be less effective than the generic manufactured by Alvogen. Is there a difference in the formulation? Is there a possibility the midlothian brand is counterfeit? Prescription filled by Publix, usually from Alvogen but occasional from Midlothian. Hence the question. ## Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% in the amount of the active ingredients, sometimes problems arise, because they do not have to measure against each other, only against the name brand....

I'm trying to manage pain for degenerative stenosis and see that hydrocodone is usually in 5 or 10 mg pills, while oxy, which is supposedly 2+ times stronger, is in 20 , 30 or 40 mg pills. What am I missing here? ## Originally, since it has the Acetaminophen added, the Hydrocodone products, such as Vicodin, Lortab and etc. were meant to be only for short-term use. Just to treat pain that was expected to resolve in a week or two, such as what someone may experience after they've had surgery or been in an accident. Currently, the government is trying to transition it back to being used this way, by restricting how much doctors can prescribe and for how long, though they haven't completely managed to do so, yet. (This would be the same as the original intent for Percocet, which...

What is this white oval pill that says...Ip 207? Can't find it, and I've never had this much of a problem. IP 203 however is the next closest match I could find on the internet; and this is identified as a 5mg/325mg generic Percocet made by Amneal Pharma. Based off that info it's probably safe to assume that Amneal also manufacturers other pills with the "IP" marking, which means they'd likely have more specific details on whether IP 207 is...

I have been taking qty of 120/mo,10-325 (percocet) for 2yrs with no side effects. My new MD reduced the qty to 90 and all was ok. He then reduced the qty to 60/mo 2 weeks ago and now my back pain has increased so much I can no longer continue my 1/2 mile daily walks. On his progressive timetable that qty is to be reduced to 45/mo which will be intolerable. I think I will be ok taking the same strength for 75/mo or would I be better off taking a qty of 60/mo 20-325 extended release? I am 84 yrs old and do not smoke or drink. ## Has he stated why he wants to lower it so much? I am taking many medications at this time, due to having five major surgeries, in the last 7 months. I know what all the others are for, but for some reason, even my pharmacist couldn't tell me what it was. I need to know what it's for, before using it. I also take Lasix, but I take it for my blood pressure. I would like to know what this medication is, and what it's prescribed for, before taking it. Thank-you so much for yo...
