I have been on oxycodone 30 mg 4 times a day for years and it seems not to be working as well. Should it be ok to ask my Dr to up my amount taken daily? ## There are higher doses that your doctor can prescribe, though they likely won't direct you to take it more frequently throughout the day. My husband, just had a rod takin out of his leg, and the gave him 10mg oxycodone, but one isnt helping. Wanted to see how many he could take safely to help with the pain.... ## It's kind of difficult to say given the limited information in your post. How tolerant is he to opiates? I have been changed from 140mgs oxycodone to 40 x 2 mgs Oxycontin. I had so much more pain control with the Oxycodone but doc wants me on a ER medication and one for breakthrough. I am a vet from the war that has no end in sight, I am not special just a soldier like many of you out there. I was shot in the right shoulder and it came out my chest. I was very lucky. What other pharmaceuticals make oxycodone 10mg IR besides kvk tech and the ones that have "NP and 12" on the sides. I get headaches as a side effect from these and I'm assuming it's bc of the fillers. I didn't have problems when I used to get 5mg bc there seemed to be more options. What does a roxycodone 15 mg immediate release look like.. I was prescribed this today. I had hip surgery and was sent home with a little green pill with a m in a box on one side and a 15 on the other. Is this the same thing? My bottle says oxycodone 15 mg.. But it doesn't specify immediate release. ## There is no immediate release Oxycodone in that dosage, thus, the 15mg tablets that you've received are regular release tablets. Most unaffiliated pharmacies will always be cheaper in price for people without insurance. Walmart/Target/Walgreens/Costco/CVS etc are big chains and will not help ppl without insurance. Stay away from those phony Medical cards claiming to save on RX's prices, they do no good for you. They basically tell the pharmacy to charge you more than cost, and split the difference with the pharmacy, hence you pay more then necessary. I was prescribed 270 30 mg oxycodone take one every 2-3 hours as needed for pain. Is this a common dose? It seems extreme to me but my prior dose is not effectve anymore. ## It is not common, but if you are tolerant to Oxycodone and have been using it for a long time, then it is no necessarily dangerous, either. Hello, I was just prescribed by my pain doctor oxycodone 30 mg imm rel tab I get 90 pills every 2 weeks cause I have bulging disc in my neck C3-C6. This is my 5th different med I have taken I have been switched so many times trying to find something stronger that will relieve my pain.
