How Many Hydrocodone Tablets Should Be Prescribed At Time

I am on hydrocodone 20mg 5 times a day and I do not think the pharmacy is giving me enough for 30 days. How many milligrams is the pharmacy suppose to give me? ## Hi Deborah; 20mg 5 * per day = 100mg per day. 100mg per day * 30 days = 3,000mg total. Or in terms of tablets, 5 tablets per day * 30 days = 150 tablets total. I hope this makes sense and is helpful. Does that seem right to you?

Are they real? ## Actually, Watson has recently been removing the dye from many of their tablets, due to people being allergic or sensitive to them. Thus, several of their products are now white. I have been taking Hydrocodon-APAP 10-325 2 PILLS EVERY 4 HOURS 3 to 4 times a day for 15 years. My problem is the last few prescriptions I've received have not done much to help with the pain. The last few prescriptions are Watson 853 tablets. I have taken as many as 4 to 4 & 1/2 pills within an hour & a half & it was like I was taking nothing!! I have heard that sometimes the medicine is replaced with a placebo or that the Government is cutting down the ingredient that actually give fast pain relief. Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen comes in 3 strengths, Hydrocodone 10/Acetaminophen 325, Hydrocodone 7.5/Acetaminophen 325 and Hydrocodone 5/Acetaminophen 325. ## @Rest, I've never heard of anyone taking 500mgs of Hydrocodone, except throughout the duration of an entire monthly or bi-weekly script (i.e. if you took two 7.5mg tablets [15mg] a day for 33 days, you'd be at 495 mgs)... but for the sake of answering the question at hand, if you were to simply divide 500mg by 1.5mg, it would come out to roughly 333 1.5mg doses - Something that would have to require a patient to divide their 5mg pills into 1/...

my pain is too much to handle. the doctor cannot give me more than 30 tablets of hydrocodone/acetaminophen at a time. So I need to know how many Tylenol to take to help me. ## Hi Nikki, To my understanding, no amount of tylenol (acetaminophen) is equivalent to the effects of Hydrocodone, before experiencing what would be considered an overdose of acetaminophen - which can be extremely toxic to the liver. It sounds like your best bet would probably be to ask your doctor for a stronger pain medication (that you can take less of) or opt for a safer, more natural alternative that can be used as an adjunctive therapy to what you already take.
