What are the different strengths of hydrocodone? ## There are many different strengths of Hydrocodone, they range from 5 mg to 10 mg along with 325 mg to 500 mg of Acetaminophen. Is there a particular pill you are looking for? ## which is stronger 5mg/500mg or 7.5-200 tab? ## 7.5/200 is stronger but easyer on your stomack .lesser acetaminophen lesser stomack ache! ## I have three different prescriptions..10-660, 7.5-750 and 5-500...which is the lesser of three evils? ## definitely 10/660 ## The 10/660 is NOT the lesser of two evils. It is the strongest pill that hydracodone has. The 5/500 milligram pill is definitely the more milder pill. ## I have 10-325. What's that? ## 10-325 most likely stands for a combination 10 mg Hydrocodone and 325 mg Acetaminophen. It's a relatively co...

I know a person that took a higher than recommended dose of Tylenol and they said that it equals up to 1 Hydrocodone. ## Hi Ann - There is no real equivalent dose between Tylenol (ingredient name Acetaminophen) versus Hydrocodone. They are two completely different drugs, plus the Acetaminophen is not even an opiate medication like Hydrocodone is. In fact, taking too much Acetaminophen puts the body at great risk of liver damage! So I hope that your friend is okay! There are some drugs which contain a combination of Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone (such as Vicodin and Norco), but in those drugs they act together. So as I mentioned, it is never a good idea to try and take a therapeutic equivalent of Hydrocodone by using Acetaminophen. I hope this helps and best wishes!

I am trying to find out how many grams of codiene are in a hydrocodone-APAP 10-500 TABITP. Anyone know? confused about it. ## 10mg hydrocodone with 500mg of acetaminphen ## Hydrocodone is similar to codiene, but the two drugs are both different from each other. ## That is correct, there is no Codeine in this, the active narcotic in this medication is the Hydrocodone, 10/500 means it contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, this is a generic for Vicodin. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. You can read more here: Did you have any other questions? ## funny v on back and cr 500 on font ## I have been given a generic prescription for Lortab. My prescription has always had the label, Watson on one side the other 3202 white oval tablet. This month my refill is different, white oval tablet with #2172 on one side. They told me they're from a different manufacturer, and they seem to not help as much. Is this a weaker brand, was told possibly a (placebo) can you advise me ? Thank you. ## Hello, David! How are you? Has there been any change? It is not a placebo, but there have been many complaints about it lacking efficacy. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You may need to consult your doctor about taking an alternative medication, for awhile, until you can find a ...

I recently went to CVS and forgot that they use some sort of generic for lortab called, well, I call it "Mallencrock (crock-o-crap). I have a refill. Can I go in and ask that they not make me pay for something I can't stand and doesn't work for me, and that I would like to have Lortab/Watson brand? ## There have been many complaints about the products manufactured by Mallinckrodt. Yes, you can ask them ahead of time if they have a different one in stock to fill your prescription, though it may be more expensive. If they don't, or won't order it in for you, you could always see about transferring your prescription elsewhere. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I actully did what you said and had it transferred to Walgreens and they happily gave me what I wanted...

I have been taking norco 10/325 yellow oval pill for a few years but yesterday what I got was different they were white oblong pills which says hyd/apap 10/325 mg tab amnea on it and the numbers on the tablet are G 037. Are they the same? The norco always worked very well but these white tabs don't seem as strong or work as well. ## Yes, they are the same, the tablet with the G 037 on it has just been manufactured by a different company, in this case Tris Pharma. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. How many have you taken, so far?

Wife has RA and has tried many different NSAIDs to relieve pain and reduce swelling. We don't want to take the standard RA Meds as the side effects are bad as well. Due to intense pain a few nights ago, I let her use some of my hydrocodone with acetaminophen and woke up feeling better than she had in months. What part of the drug is responsible for reducing the inflammation and then the pain to allow her to use her hands and walk. Are there other options we should look at for her pain/inflammation? Many of the NSAIDs haven't worked effectively for her. ## Hello, Todd! How are you and your wife? It could be that this is a good medication for her and she may need to ask her doctor about trying it. Was it the combination with Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen? It does take opiates to h...

I have been using brand name Norco 10 325 for some time. recently because of the DEA I cannot get them and nowi mallinckrodt s the only drug my pharmacy sells. I have read so many bad things about them on the internet, frankly I am about to have a nervous breakdown as I recently had rotator cuff surgery and I have to have the pain control to complete my therapy. I have heard good things but everyone says that the one to say the good things are crazy. help!!! ## I understand your concern, however, the only way to know if they will help you, or not, is to actually try them! You're not doing yourself any good by getting upset over it, please calm down. :-) It isn't that the people on either side of what you've read are crazy, it's that everyone is different, so some may not...

Has anyone found out if Lortab or Lorcet is a better hydrocodone option for chronic pain, if you're one of MANY people that have had BAD reactions to many of the defective, generic 10-325 Norco? Serious answers from chronic pain patients, please. ## They all contain Hydrocodone as the active ingredient, with Acetaminophen. Thus, there won't be much of a difference between them, they are all different names for the same opiate. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What type of bad reactions have you experienced? Can you please post back and clarify?

Although many have said one drug is the same as the other I find that Qualitest hydrocodone 10/325 seems to not affect me as far as making me drowsy and extremely tired. It does so help with the pain but it does not make me so I can not function. The other manufacturer Mallincor (spelling not right) their hydrocodone makes me so tired I have to literally go to bed. Strange I think that if two drugs are identical how can they have different effects to you. I prefer to not take any hydrocodone but until I am through this pain I prefer to take the one that does not comatose me. ## While they contain the same active ingredients, there can be fluctuations in the amount of them that are in generic medications, additionally, the inactive ingredients can be entirely different. Thus, the one fro...

I filled my prescription at my pharmacy that I always use and I received a different brand marked 10/325 RP. Didn’t think anything of it or notice until I checked due to me not feeling any difference in my pain level after an hour and I usually feeling a big difference after 30 mins. My concern is that this is a less effective knock off of hydrocodone and isn’t going to keep my chronic neck and back pain under control. Has anyone experienced this with this brand? Am I able to go back to the pharmacy with my concerns and ask for a non generic. I don’t see the use in taking a pain medication that isn’t providing the same level of relief. Thanks! ## What you've received are Rhodes Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone (NDC 42858-0203). There have been many complaints abou...

I read many articles claiming that the opiate portion of a Vicodin tablet is in the specks. Any truth? ## Hello, Demetria! How are you? No, it is not true. They colored specks are exactly that, just colored specks that the manufacturer used to make their pills look different than all the others on the market. How a tablet looks is entirely up to their whit and whim. The Medication, however, is dispersed throughout the entire tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have experienced many generic brands, including Watson and Qualitest. My pharmacy just changed to the Amneal brand 10-325 hydrocodone/APAP. I am just not sure what to think about this. The pills have an IP on them. What have been the experiences of others taking this specific generic brand? ## Because these drugs can affect each individual differently, my opinion is that trial and error through one's own personal experience is the only way to accurately judge the efficacy of a specific tablet. On the other hand, I do get the sense that some brands/generics are manufactured with less quality inactive ingredients than others, potentially making them more prone to cause side effects or placebo-like responses from varying degrees of bioavailability. I haven't taken the Amneal bran...

I am currently on an oxycodone m/r script, and find that it certainly does not last for the claimed twelve hours per tablet. No matter what, my doctor refuses to prescribe anything for this 'breakthrough' pain, not even a 20mg OxyNorm to carry me over. I have heard, however that a DIFFERENT analgesic is best in this situation. Since most drug information sites and forums are American, the drug which keeps cropping up and is most highly recommended to me is hydrocodone. This is NOT available in the UK, and despite many attempts, I can find no place to access it. The only other country which uses hydrocodone, in a much better pure form, is Germany, where it is available under the brand DICODID by Knoll, 10mg per tablet. Unfortunately I have had just as little success in tracing a ...

after reading about so many types of codone medications, I was wondering why is there so many different kinds. Aren't most of them suppose to treat pain control. While reading the articles on a lot of them they all say the same thing. Why can't a patent be for a lifetime instead letting them expire and letting every pharmacustical company produce their own version and confusing everybody about which one is best. I could only come up with one answer for this question. MONEY RULES and a persons life really doesn't matter. I feel like the original makers should have the opportunity to either improve or discontinue making any and all pain Meds that they produce, giving the next maker a chance to produce it's version. For example: There should be just one form of Hydrocodone,...

I have had many Qualitest Hydrocodone 10/325, printed different. Right way is v, turn over3601, which is correct. Others , the V is upside down. Totally different printed pills. This should not be happening. I am concerned they are counterfeit pills. Happened to me twice now. NEVER use to have this problem. ## It's not counterfeit, it just has to do with the pharmacy ordering from a different soarse. Like meds from the V.A. are marked different. Right no with DEA and FDA cracking down is making it hard for pharmacies to get any type of pain medication. Sad part is that this is creating people who are in need are going to the streets for meds, this in turn is more drug dealers out there so now DEA can keep there jobs. I think it's a bunch of b.s cause I take 15mg. of morphine and...

7.5-750 Vicodin or 5-325 Percocet --- Which is stronger? ## Hello, Jan! How are you? These are actually equivalent. So, neither is really stronger, it just depends which works better for you. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Vicodine IS Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is the name of opiate found in many different types of pain meds. Same as Oxycodone is the type of opiate found in percocets, tylox, roxicets, etc. Lortab, vicodine, hydrocodone, and many others are same just different names. I have a white pill with 500 on one side and IP 190 on the other side, does this pill have Hydrocodone in it? This tablet contains 500mgs of Naproxen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling (NDC 65162-190). Inactive Ingredients: - Croscarmellose Sodium - Povidones - Magnesium Stearate Ref: DailyMed ## Naproxen and tramadol, are they the same thing? ## Absolutely not. ## how many can i take before it affects me in a bad way? ## Pills are a lot like alcohol in the sense that its a slow & PROGRESSIVE toll it WILL take on your body, more specifically your liver. And everyone's tolerance is different. The more u take the MOR...

I was in a bad accident back in March of 2012, I was on a snow machine ( mobile for who call it that) and was hit by a large SUV. I had a shattered pelvis, broken hip and broken femur. I've found that the qualitest 5/325 white pills with red specks work best for me compared to other brands, but of late I've had to take more to feel a relief. I'm wondering if they make the same type just stronger. I don't know if it's the red specks they use in them that makes it different with others. I also just moved and am worried my new state won't have that brand even if I can't get a raised dose with my next doctor. I hate taking so many, wish I didn't have to take them at all to be honest. I have tried to go my normal route and stop taking them to lower my need for...
