I have been on 2mg bars 4 times daily for over 5 yrs. When taken as prescribed it is the best. I have bipolar disorder and severe anxiety. Just ask doctor first and be willing to try other benzos cause one might work better for u. ## That is a huge habit. You are hooked. I am hooked. I'm not going to judge you at all. However what happens if you run out, or the doctor moves or stop practicing. Xanax is a wonder drug, but is very hard to stop, perhaps the hardest drug? You must experience it to know how lovely Alprazolam is on the way out. Getting back to you, 8 mg a day is a lot and so many here have lost their prescriber for a variety of reasons. Good luck!

The xan G3722 don't do anything for me. I use it to sleep or if I have a panic attack. Since they don't work within 20-30min they do me no good. I've been on 2mg xanax BID, somaqQID, and Lortab QID for about 2.5 yrs plus. My tolerence to the xanax is goign up, so that got me interested in the XRs. Also, are there really 3mg BARS? b/c i've had the green bars and it is absolutely confirmed it's 2mg xaniez. ## Yes, there is a Xanax XR 3mg available, since it is an extended release, it is usually only taken once a day. These are branded as ALPROX (which I have never tried so can not give any opinions on strength or efficacy, although I have heard that they are indeed alprazolam but as with most Pakistani medicaments, are understrength.)
