I am on the methodone clinics ,I have a mirgain ,is it OK to take lannet ## Hello, Luisa! How are you? Which medication are you asking about? Lannett is the name of a pharmaceutical manufacturer, not the name of a medication. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! Methadone is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I'm on 100 mg of methodone and im thinking of switching to subut ex ! What is the side affects I have heard so many diff. Stuff so could u plz help me ## Hello, Dawn! How are you? Subutex carries the risk of causing the same side effects as Methadone and other opiate narcotics. The active ingredient in it is Buprenorphine, so it can also be habit forming and cause dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, depression and constipation. The difference is that is isn't known to cause the withdrawals that are as severe as those of Methadone, nor to cause cravings. So, unlike Methadone treatment, where people usually end up on a lifetime maintenance dose of it, those who take Subutex or Suboxone usually end up eventually becoming entirely drug free. Are there any other questions or concerns?

i am perscribed 2 10mg methadone 4 x a day and i was sorting my meds for the weak and i took the wrong pile of pills and that was 6 10mg of methodone instead of my mixture of pills perscribed to me wich are 20mg methadon 8mg hydromorphine tinazadine and gabapentin should i worry about this ## Are you okay? Did anything happen? There is a chance that it could be too high of a dose and cause an overdose, but that would really be worse case scenario. Since you are used to taking Methadone, it would be most likely to just make you very drowsy and sick. Learn more Methadone details here.

i have found a bottle of pills in my mom's desk drawer they are round, orange or peach in color, with a M on one side and the other side says 751... are these methadone pills? ## No, the M on the pills actually doesn't stand for what they contain, it is just the manufacturer's logo. The tablets actually contain 10mgs of Cyclobenzaprine, the active ingredient in Flexeril, it is a muscle relaxant. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. I am looking for a pill over the counter to help me get off methadone ## Dude...mix all that with methadone and you will die or go into a coma.methadone amplifies their effects of all muscle relaxes and shot like valium and zanax ## @Christina, To my knowledge there aren't any OTC drugs that are specifically indicated for opiate withdrawals. Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, under a doctor's supervision if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. This is probably one of the most common ways in which people actively try to avoid severe withdrawal ...

I have been taking Methadone for opiate addiction for almost 20 years! It has worked for me! The only time I relapsed was when I moved from NY to Ohio and had to wait to transfer into a different clinic. I have been clean since 2002! My problem is; I recently lost my medicaid because I do not live with my 12yr.daughter and her mom anymore.Ohio Social Services does NOT give medicaid to single men unless they are on disability or SSI. I am on neither being that I am capable of working, even though I am a insulin-dependent Diabetic also.I work part-time making 8.00per hour. The clinic I go to is 60 miles away, and medicaid was paying for my transportation also. Now I am faced with two dilemmas...getting to the clinic twice a week because I do not have a car at this time (I do get "take...

Can promethazine be taken while on methodone? ## Hello, Vicki! How are you? Generally, it is best to avoid this combination. The both tend to increase the QTc interval of the heart, which could be dangerous. The FDA classifies Methadone as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Did your doctor prescribe them both?

Iwas put on Methodone 5-6 years ago for chronic back pain and fibromyalgia. My ankles starting swelling so my Dr. put me on a fentanyl patch. with Norco for breakthrough. I have ben doing pretty well. A few months ago I decided to get off the drugs. I have been on 25mcg patch for a couple of months, and the other day deciced it was time to quit.My Dr. knows what my plan is. Anyway it's been a pretty miserable couple of days. The second night I put on a patch for a few hours to sleep. So sincde yesterday I have been a real TWEEKER-restless body, flipping all over the place, can't eat, can't sleep, achy. Right or wrong I am rationing the Norco I have left atlernating with tylenol, and taking klonipin. It sucks. I am so glad that I am not alone, while at least I can read what o...

So if you are in severe pain and in the middle of nowhere and the only thing anyone has is methadone if you only took it once till you could get back and get help would you go through withdrawals? ## Hello, Ricky! How are you? According to the FDA information on Methadone, it has happened to some people, but it is a very rare occurrence. One would usually have to take it for a longer period of time to experience withdrawals. With one dose, you'll usually just feel sick and fatigued, afterwards. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## DO NOT TAKE METHODONE IF YOU HAVE USED SUBOXONE IN THE LAST 3 DAYS. I promise you...

My son has been a methodone for program for 5 months. He is disabled and his only means of income is $1,100 a month on SSD. He has to pay $35 a week to get his methodone. They ask him anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week for a U.A which they charged him $20 per diagnosis. This is from $40 to $60 a week that he does not have. If they do not get their money they refuse to give him his medicine. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford an extra $40 or $60 a week to give him. They hold him for ransom if he does not have the money. He tells them he will give it to them when he gets his check on the 3rd Wednesday of each month but they say no. If this fair?? ## Hello, Npet! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that your son is having. Is it necessarily fair? No! But is it legal, so t...

Learn more Methadone details here. That said, whether or not you are a candidate depends on how much of the Vicodin you've been taking. If you've only been using prescribed amounts, then you'll most likely be better off just tapering off it, rather than resorting to addiction treatment. How ...

I have a rare kind of polyneuropathy that affects my long nerves. I have had severe chronic pain for over 8 years. My pain doctor in Florida switched me from oxycontin to methadone because the oxycodone made it difficult to sleep. I recently moved to Mass. and so far the two doctors I've been to eliminated my breakthrough meds (oxycodone 30 mg. 4 times a day) and decreased my methadone from 140 mg a day (taken evenly in 10 mg a day) to 70 mg a day (10 mg. tabs throughout the day) and I am back to excruciating pain. I cannot work, eat a healthy diet, sleep, take care of my family, etc. Why don't any of these doctors realize that although there are risks related to taking opiates, that QUALITY of life is what is important to me? Do you know of any doctors in Mass. (Lowell area) th...

I'm bugging out I'm realty hitting. Bad people ruin it for us that are realty in pain ## Hello, Rich! How are you? Yes, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you will need to see a pain management specialist, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, now. Your doctor has no choice in the matter. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you ever tried pain management? The doctors that specialize in chronic pain ofte...

I'm on 130mil of methadone a day but got a couple 75mil tapenadols from a friend bc in 2 weeks had 6 teeth pulled and dentist only gave me 5mil hydros. So I just wanted to kno if I took them together I wouldn't go into withdraw. Please answer asap.. thanks guys ## Hello, Based on my research, using tapentadol with methadone can increase side effects like dizziness, impaired judgement or thinking, and difficulty concentrating. If you were to take all of these medications together for a considerate amount of time, there is the possibility of becoming dependent on them- so when you stop taking them you may experience some withdrawal symptoms. Everyone's body chemistry is unique though, so it's impossible for me to know how your body will react to the medications for certain...

i am taking 70 mg. methodone daily. i have been clean many years. going to meth. clinic interferes with my job. is there a place that dispenses suboxon. ## You can check Suboxone.com to see if there is a doctor in your area that provides Suboxone treatment. The way it works though, might cause you some problems. You do have to be in full withdrawal, before you can start Suboxone, because it contains both Buprenorphine and Naloxone, so the Naloxone can throw you into severe withdrawals, if you take it too soon. From what I understand, some of them do give take-home prescriptions, but it depends on the doctor's policies and the laws in your state. You can learn more about the medication here: Are there any other comments or questions?

Do these doctors prescribe methodone? I know someone that has used street drugs most their life. They need a doctor who can prescribe methodone! ## Hello, Margie! How are you? This website does not prescribe, nor sell any medications, it is an information only resource, I'm sorry. Under current U.S. law, Methadone can only be prescribed to treat addiction by someone specially trained in it's use, and it must be done in a clinical setting. So, while it may be expensive and inconvenient, a Methadone clinic is the only option. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Suboxone might be something to consider, since it doesn't require daily clinic visits. Is this pe...

My doc has changed my pain meds. I am taking 90 mgs. a day, and have been for 6 months. It doesn't work anymore. (Nerve damage from 5 failed back surgers and scarring from healing attempts.) He put me on 100mgs of MS Contin twice a day. I NEED to know what if anything I need to know about the transition. Scared as it a high dose. ## email me i have a question ## you're suppossed to get 100 mg of morphine to every 10 mg of methadone which means you should get 900 mg a day. Same thing happened to my wife. You need300 mg every 8 hours ## Pip is actually very accurate, Methadone is much stronger than Morphine and, if you've been taking 90mgs of the Methadone a day, you will need 337.5mgs of Morphine in a day to be at an equivalent dose. A twice daily dosing would require around ...
