Im 31yrs old now and I been taking oxycodone 10/325 for 17 yts after injuring my L5-S1 and both legs in an auto accident. It generally takes roughly 15-20 mins to work and I'm finding that I'm having to "DOUBLE UP" and am considering asking to increase my dosage at my doc visit next week. Are there any suggestions out there? I am being changed from 50mch every 48 hrs and 40 mg of hydrocodone a day to oxycodone and the doc only gave me 15 mg three times a day ir release and i am hurting bad. I have a feeling this is not even close to what i am use to. What should i do or say to my doc. I am working with the va military docs which are very strict. ## So you were on a Fentanyl patch that you changed every 48 hours and the Hydrocodone and they've now cut you down to 15mgs of Oxycodone 3 times a day? There's really no way this is going to work, you're going from a time release patch of the most potent narcotic available, down to just 45mgs a day of Oxycodone and that's not even taking the additional Hydrocodone into account. I am recovering from the Whipple Procedure for pancreatic cancer performed last April. I have severe and at times chronic pain / nerve damage in the incision area. I've only been taking subs for the last 2 days roughly at maybe 8-10mg for those couple of days. How long should I wait until I take oxycodone to make sure the effects actually work. I have no other history with suboxone and the last time I took any oxycodone was a little over 2 weeks ago. I would say my metabolism is above average. Trying to go down on being pill dependent. I stop cold turkey went 9 day's the 1st time I tried. It wasn't pretty my hold body was in shock. 2nd time trying to go without now, just take half my pill instead 2 times a day it's working but body is not happy and seem like my blood is on fire, bad headache, sweats, stomach hurts in different parts. The first question is the subject line. The second question is my directions state take one every day yet my BP is high several hours before my next dose. I guess taking it twice a day at a lower dosage might be in order. Of course I will run that by my Dr. The question is what potential damage am I incurring during those hours before the next daily dose ? i am on oxycodone 15mg 4 times a day and 30mgs of methadone. I now added a 75mg patch of Fentanyl. Will the patch work? Will i feel the patch? It's been on for 3 hours and i don't feel any different. ## I'm on 30 to 40 mgs of methadone daily and 15 mgs of oxycodone daily. I ran out of my meds and cant fill my them until tomorrow. was taking 10/325 endocet for a couple weeks, doc knew that I was taking 1 and a 1/2 at a time, switched me to 15mg oxycodone no Tylenol little green ones, they are not working that well, b 4 it was 15mg oxy with 550 mg Tylenol...he doesn't want me to take Tylenol really, is it to much to ask him for the 30mg oxycodone instead, cause with eating breakfast, lunch etc and my weight 270pds...its tuff to get pain relief from the 15mg and even adding another half of a 15mg...just wonder if anyone has any advice or knows what I am trying to say...or if anyone has or is in this situation...I new here. any comments or suggestions would be great...how do I know when someone answers or comments on my questions? thx T-bone ## I see this is an old post but thought someone else might find this i...

I was just given this med Oxycontin10mg twice a day by my dr for pain but I don't know how long until it starts working. I have Vicodin but I don't really know how much of it I should take to help with the pain. I have only taken one dose of the oxy ## Oxycontin is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and it will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes, after you take it, to start working. Then it is slowly released for approximately 12 hours. As to the Vicodin, you shouldn't take more of that than what your doctor, or pharmacist has instructed. I used to take half an Oxycodone 5/500 as needed for cervical for neck pain and it worked fine. Last night I took a whole dose for the first time because of sever stomach pain from vomiting all day. I may have eaten something bad the day before but there was nothing more in my stomach and the pain kept me awake (but I was exhausted from the ordeal). My refill is Endocet 5-325. I guess I had an allergic reaction because my feet started burning in the middle of the night and I was going insane. I iced them in a pan of cold water and ice for as long as I could (30 seconds in/30 seconds out) until I finally felt numb and fell asleep. I've taken subutex for a long time know for chronic pain, in my opinion it's been awesome. I just had surgery. My surgeon was very forthcoming about everything. i usually take 1 blue 30mg oxycodone pill but right now, i have 6 5mg oxycodone pills-is it ok to take all 6 at once if im use to taking 1 30mg oxycodone pill? ## Good question,.....on one hand I would say ther shouldn't be any problem taking six 5mg tables. However, when combined and taken together this may seem like an increase to your body.
