Is the Tylenol ER good for toothache ## Hello, Ray! How are you? Tylenol contains Acetaminophen, which is an analgesic, but it really depends on the severity of the toothache. It may help with a relatively mild one, but if it's severe and there's an infection involved, it likely won't help much. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Have you consulted your dentist?

G3722 blank on the back ## This isn't a Tylenol 3 tablet. The rectangular shaped tablet with the G 3722 marking, all separated by score lines contains 2mgs of Alprazolam, the active ingredient in Xanax. It is a Benzodiazepine and you can read more Alprazolam details here, if you aren't familiar with it. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dizziness and irritability. What led you to believe it was Tylenol 3? ## It's xanax made by greenstone pharmaceuticals. They are owned by Pfizer who owns the name brand xanax. They are very good generics because they put in 100% of the active drug or very close, maybe 95 to 98%, but well worth it, yet hard to find.

I have a infected wisdom tooth so my doctor prescribed me these on top ofpeniciilin. All the tylonel is doing is maken me feel sick all the time. Ive tryd eating on them but no matter what i feel like im going to be sick but i cant deal with the pain. What do i do ## Nicki, it's probably the Codeine in the Tylenol #4. I dealt with the same thing once and the doctor had to switch me to Vicodin, as it contains a different narcotic ingredient. You might be sensitive to opiates in general, in which case they may also decide to put you on a high dose of non-narcotic medications. Hope this info helps and good luck!! ## .Thank you very much. I am going to call my dentist monday and ask him for something different so i am not feeling like this anymore :)

I took three of them as soon as I got them ,I can't really tell I've taken anything. I'm wondering if I should take a few more because I have a hot tolerance due to cancer I'm terminally ill. ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? No, the Codeine in this is actually a very weak/mild narcotic and you cannot keep taking multiples, due to the risk of Acetaminophen toxicity. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If your current prescribed dose isn't helping your pain, you should contact your doctor so you can try something else. I'm sorry about your diagnosis and wish you the best. Is there anything else I can help...

Is tylenol 3 addictive, like oxycodne or hydrocodone? Is it also a class 2 med? I have chronic pain from a traffic accident a few years back (damaged pelvis & lower back, shoulders, etc.). I am quite active on "good days", like riding my Harleys, and don't want to be stuck having to take pain meds on days I can get by with regular tylenol (and wish to drive & be 100% alert). Thanks for your help, Stood ## Hello, Stood! How are you? Tylenol 3 contains Acetaminophen and Codeine, so while it still has the same potential to be habit forming as the others, it is a much milder analgesic. However, if you don't take them all the time, on a regular basis, you won't become addicted to, or dependent on any of them. That only occurs with regular use and/or abuse of them....

I have had to take generic tylenol 4 for a while since drs cant prescribe anything else. DEA fears I suppose... Surprise, yet a new generic brand aurobindo pharma...Not good!!! First time I've ever felt more pain after taking a medication and also feel very agitated and flush... I know how my medication works and this is just horrible horrible horrible... I called the pharmacy and they said there should be no difference... Really? This is very scary. Such a drastic change... ## This tablet is manufactured by Aurolife Pharma and they list it as containing 60mgs of Codeine with 300mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It isn't tha...

I am currently on what my doctor calls a "pain management" plan since nothing else has worked. I take Vicodin 7.5/325 which right now is to be my at-home-pain-reliever. I was prescribed tramadol 50mg previously to take during the day and it was awesome! No pain, alert and able to work. But good feelings faded and became nothing. Now my doc had me on the same Vicodin. And I take Tramadol 50mg. (1-2 every six hours as needed, max 6 per day - Same as Vicodin) and Tylenol 3 (300/30mg) 1-2 twice daily. I already don't feel anything with this tramadol t3 combo. What is a good substitute I can take during the day? Maybe not even take before driving (1.5 hour commute - part of the issue lol) but maybe take eight after my commute is done and my shift is about to start. Don't wann...

I know a person that took a higher than recommended dose of Tylenol and they said that it equals up to 1 Hydrocodone. ## Hi Ann - There is no real equivalent dose between Tylenol (ingredient name Acetaminophen) versus Hydrocodone. They are two completely different drugs, plus the Acetaminophen is not even an opiate medication like Hydrocodone is. In fact, taking too much Acetaminophen puts the body at great risk of liver damage! So I hope that your friend is okay! There are some drugs which contain a combination of Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone (such as Vicodin and Norco), but in those drugs they act together. So as I mentioned, it is never a good idea to try and take a therapeutic equivalent of Hydrocodone by using Acetaminophen. I hope this helps and best wishes!

Can I take Mucinex along with Tylenol & Amoxicillin / Clavulanate Potassium Tablets, USP 875 mg/125 mg? ## Hi Nancy, According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Mucinex, Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Amoxicillin. While this doesn't necessarily mean no interactions exist, I personally haven't had any issues taking these together in the past. However, if in doubt, it may be a good idea to double check with your doctor first. I hope this helps!

I took a 7.5 Watson 3203 and a 500mg Tylenol. Will I be okay? Took it for tooth pain. I have an abscess tooth. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? While doing so just once isn't likely to cause severe issues, it is always best to consult your doctor to be sure. The Hydrocodone tablet you took contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so it is never a good idea to add more Acetaminophen (Tylenol) to the mix. Taking too much in any 8 hour period risks causing liver damage or liver failure. Have you consulted your dentist for assistance? ## You can verify this information through the FDA and NIH, they recommend no more than 1,000mgs per 8 hours, and no more than 3,000mgs per 24 hour period. Are you on any other medications? ## Can I take Hydrocodone/Acetaminoph...

Dr switched me to Tylenol 4 from hydrocodone. It's making me itch with a rash. Why? ## Hello, Doug! How are you? With the itch, it is likely that you're having an allergic reaction and those just tend to get worse, with repeated exposure. Thus, you need to inform your doctor as this probably isn't a good medication for you to take. Other symptoms of an allergic reaction, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include dizziness, swelling and trouble breathing. Is there anything else I can help with?

slight whip lash, neck pain-difficult to turn head to the right ## It should be helpful in your situation, although Lyrica is typically prescribed for neuropathic pain such as Fibromyalgia or spinal cord injuries. (were you prescribed this by your doctor?) If you're dealing with muscle pain, have you considered safer over-the-counter products such as Advil, Aleve, Tylenol, etc? Regardless I'd say that you should get your neck checked out if the pain is moderate or more. Hope this helps! You can read more about this drug at:

If you use Norco for a few years to manage pain can you develop Cirrhosis of the liver or go into acute liver failure because of the Tylenol that it contains. I'm told excessive amounts of Tylenol and Tylenol in general are not good for your liver. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 Cirrhosis- as I'm told-more than likely due to Norco. Could this be true? ## Cirrhosis is not usually caused from Acetaminophen, it's most common causes are alcohol abuse, Hepatitis, non-alcoholic steatoheptatis, and hemochromatosis, according to NIH articles. Acetaminophen can cause harm to the liver, and may cause liver failure in those that take high doses, for a long period of time, though. Do you frequently drink alcoholic beverages?

My sister is on a BP med "Enalapril" for the past couple of years. She has recently started taking Tylenol Arthritis tabs. Are there any indications of drug interaction from this combination? She is 72 years old. ## She should check with her doctor, or pharmacist to be certain, but there are no interactions listed. The Tylenol Arthritis just contains a time released formulation of Acetaminophen, which is actually one of the safer medications for a high blood pressure patient to use. ## At age 60, I am concerned of the risk of organ damage (liver / kidney) from long term use of tylenol or ibuprofen for arthritis pain. So much so that I generally take good old aspirin, 3 tabs two or three times a day. My stomach is fine, I don't bleed easily. My blood pressure med is Atacand 3...

Here's some definitive info from Actavis who bought out Watson. fioricet.com Briefly: New formulation is out because of FDA requirements (reduces Tylenol from 325 to 300). No change to Butalbital or caffeine mg's Tablets are discontinued. Only capsules are available. The formulation without Codeine is NOT a schedule III drug (Actavis received an FDA exemption) If your doc writes for tabs you may want to discuss having him alter the scrip so that it doesn't get bounced. The good news is that it looks like the Brand Name will still be available. I had GREAT luck with West Ward for over 30 years. The white tabs by Qualitest suck so I'm going to pay the extra and go for the Brand to see how well it works. Good luck everyone. ## Has anyone ever heard of the mfg, of butalbital...

Can you take tuelonal pm for anxiety and sleep during detoxing suboconr ## Can you take Tylenol pm for anxiety and sleep while detoxing from suboxone ## Hi Teddy, From what I understand, neither Tylenol (Acetaminophen) nor Diphenhydramine (an anthistamine) act on opioid receptors or interact with suboxone in anyway. So personally I don't see how it could possibly interfere with suboxone being inside or outside of your system (during a detox) from a pharmacological point of view. However it would probably be a good idea to double check with your doctor anyways for that added peace of mind. Some alternative considerations that may also be worth looking into are, homeopathic sleep aids, melatonin, magnesium, various herbal preparations, ashwaghanda root, valerian root, white noise, med...

Want to quit taking amoxicillin after years of taking it. ## Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that is usually only taken for short periods of time to treat or prevent infections. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. Why have you been taking it for so long? More information may enable someone to give you better advice and ideas. ## As it apparently has antinflamatory in it and I have a bad back and cannot handle pain medications other than tylenol, and that isn't very good. It helps, but I want to see if I am no different without it now.

Right now I have a very painful stiff neck that's been troubling me for a week to date. Is this pill (imprinted s525) good for me to take to possibly relieve this pain? ## Hi Mike, The pill your describing imprinted with S525 is reportedly identified as Acetaminophen (500mg) + Diphenhydramine HCL (25mg). And just to confirm, this is a blue capsule-shaped pill with a National Drug Code of 51824-0017. Acetaminophen (otherwise known as Tylenol) may help a little bit, but Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine used for allergies, so it's pretty much useless for pain in my opinion. Have you considered making a doctor's appointment to obtain more effective treatment options? Kratom is something that helps me whenever I have a stiff neck and it's available OTC in most states. I have diabetes and neuropathy with severe pain in my hands, feet, and legs. My doctor has prescribed REGABA-BM for me for the last 2 years and says it will take away the pain I am having.
