I took about 1/3 of a 8mg suboxone at around 9 this morning and it is around 4pm now and i am still feeling dizzy and naucious. Is this normal or did i take too little of a dose. ## The proper Suboxone dosage really depends on the drug you were taking and how much of it you were taking, so it can vary from person to person. Learn more Suboxone details here. What dosage have you been told to take by your doctor? You may have taken too low of a dose, but like I said, it depends on how much you were taking of the drug you were on. Did you wait until you were in full withdrawal before taking it? ## I just started sub's (1, 2mg) yesterday for oxy addiction. I slept well, woke up with no W/D symptoms. I feel very dizzy, normal ? Also, can I take a 5 mg valium as I have been using them for...

I took about 1/4 of a suboxone 8mg film at about 8:30 this morning. Of I take a 30mg roxy at 10:30 tonight, will I feel it or will it be a waisted. ## Yes, it will. You should give it at least 48 hrs after your last Sub. I know..I tried. I wasted 8 15 mg. oxys because I couldn't wait! Hope this helps! ## Other reports here on the account of personal experience suggest that one only needs to wait a minimum of 12-24 hours in order to feel effects from opiates after suboxone. My assumption is that these figures are probably based on how often you take suboxone and how much you typically take when you do take it. So all I'm reiterating here is that there's no specific waiting period that'll work for each and every individual. One should probably use their own best judgement ...

I took my last pain meds @ 5 am today and I plan on taking suboxone until I'm able to make it to my appointment. It's 8mg and I know I shouldn't take the whole thing. My question is if I only take it for 3 days will it bother me when I get my pain medication? ## Please wait 72 hours at least. Or the the naloxone in that suboxone is designed to make you sick such as vomiting etc. ## I was on methadone for around 8 years and if I couldn't find that any opiods would work. I recently choose to begin Suboxone and I am on day 8. The first few days were rough but day 3 felt like a new person. Felt better then I had in years, my sense of taste and smell have came back, I felt great even though I'm only sleeping average of 4 or 5 hours a night. Today is day 8 and I actually s...

How long do i have to wait b4 being able to take Norco for the pain till I see a surgeon ## Hello, Leann! How are you feeling? I am sorry that you're in pain. It usually takes about 3 days for other pain medications to start working, again. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as dizziness, headache, nausea, constipation, and dry mouth.

Unfortunately two weeks ago i decided to pick up some H and i went on a two week run. i decided to stop what i was doing knowing it wasnt going anywhere good so i called my friend who has suboxone and i picked up one from him,I split the 8mg in half taking 4mg on the second day of WD and then taking the other 4mg on the next day. After the last dose which was Three days ago now i told myself im done with all of it. I suprisingly dont feel that bad right now thank god.Now back to my question, I have a prescription at home for Naltrexone 50mg to be taking in the morning and at night. Hi, Just started on suboxone yesterday and had a couple questions.. Started abusing lortabs about 6 years ago after several failed surgeries... About a year ago, I switched to 30mg roxys..... in April I Did 28 days in rehab, stayed clean about a month before relapsing... About a month or two ago, I started doing the dreaded "H" because of the cost. Was doing about a point or two a day sometimes alone and sometimes I'd take a few roxys with it.. Anyway, did last of the H (a point) on Saturday (today is Wednesday) and 2 roxys on Monday.. Was able to get 5 - 8mg sub strips and took about 2.5 mgs of one strip last night around 6:00. Was soooo scared about precipitated withdrawals so I waited a full 25 hrs after last roxy before I took strip. It was definitely hell waiting it out...

I am on 8 mg og Suboxone a day. I take it at 6am. I know it should last atleast 24 hrs, but it seems as if I go to sleep during the day, I wake up sick. Is this possible, that when I'm sleeping my body burns off the suboxone quicker? ## No, that doesn't make any sense. When you are asleep, your metabolism actually slows down, so if anything, it should take longer to process a medication. Have you spoken to your doctor about this problem? It is highly possible that the current 8mg dosage you are on isn't enough for you. Another problem that may cause you to wake up sick, has to do with the same slowing of your metabolism when you sleep. And it has to do with if you are eating or drinking anything, before you lay down. Are you doing this? When you do this, the items you ingest...

I took a suboxone 8mg and I have some serious pain. Will vicodin work on the pain or not? I am not looking to feel high, this pain is horrible. ## Hi Cheryl, Sorry to hear about your challenges with pain. From what I'm reading in other related discussion threads here, the general consensus I've gathered is that most patients recommend waiting an estimated 48 to 72 hours to reap the full effectiveness of their pain meds after Suboxone. This is in part due to Buprenorphine's long half life of 24-60 hours (est.), which has a higher affinity than other opioids on your receptors. I hope this helps! ## i have been taking 80 mg of oxycontin and 60 mg of oxycodone day for 7 years due to back pain.i stopped last week and started suboxene. I've been quite ill for a few days but fe...

So i got 2 8mg/2mg strips to try because i have a slight dependency to vicodin which i normally take 15 to 30mgs of a day for a little over a year for chronic skeletal back and neck pain do to sever early on set arthritis. So my question is if i take these 2 strips for the next 2 days (one per day half in the morning and the other in the afternoon/night before i go to bed so i can not be in pain when i sleep) how long after i take the last suboxone will an opioid drug like my vicodin, be able to start working in my body again for relieving my body pain? ## Well first, you need to be aware that you have to be in full withdrawal, before you take Suboxone, otherwise it can throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, according to the NIH. Once you take it, it will take about 72 hours...

trying to detox from subone have been on 8mgs a day for 15 months need help please thank you. ## Hi confused, I hope I don,t confuse you more but heres what I did when I got down to 8mgs. By the way, it was my sub. drs. taper plan. For 2 weeks I alternated, day 1 8mgs. day2, 4mgs. day3, 8mgs.day4, back to 4mgs. This averages out to 6mgs. I kept this routine up for 2weeks then tapered to 4mgs. From the 4mgs I tapered 1mg. per week. After the last week on 1mg. I stopped completely. I was taking the strips and when I got down to 4mgs. sub dr. prescribed the 2mg strips just because it was easier to cut. Tapering this way was a walk in the park. No wds. bettween tapers. Last week on 1mg I woke up couple times thruout night but went right back to sleep. No problems after that. Been off subs s...

Hi, I started suboxone yesterday after being on methadone for 3 and half years. I went from 85ml to 30ml. I waited 36hrs before taking my first dose of 8mg yesterday, it made me feel ok but not great. I took 16mg this morning @ 8:30. An hour later I was sick and 5 hours later sick again, I feel like s***! I want to go back to methodone asap!! When would be safe to take some methadone? Honest answers plz. I really do not want to be sick again. I cant handle this! Thanks x. ## I have been on 16 milligrams of subutex similar to suboxone for 2 months today I start methadone at 35 million liters this is 24 hours after my last dose of Suboxone and at this moment I'm starting to feel the effects of methadone so in my opinion 24 hours is sufficient time to switch over. ## Hi Amanda - just i...

I took a 8mg Suboxone 48 hours ago. I have a 60mg morphine to take for pain. Will the effects of the morphine work or do I need to wait longer? ## Hello, Shantastic! How are you? It usually takes about 72 hours, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yeah in theory it's supposed to last 72 hours, but that's the bupronorphine. The naloxone only lasts for a couple of hours. The bupe lasts longer to keep your tolerance up and your opiate receptors "busy" so other opiates will (again in theory) not have anything to bind to, making them ineffective...

Ok..so I've been on Suboxone 8mg strips for 2 years. However, I've been only taking 4mg a day starting a week ago and have only taken 1mg the past 2 days. I have a fentanyl patch because, frankly, I'm tired of suffering with my ungodly back pain. My question is probably predictable, but given the low doses I've taken, if I use the patch tomorrow morning, will I feel the effect? If I do use it, tomorrow morning will be 24 hrs since my last dose of 1mg suboxone. ## Generally, it takes 72 hours for the Naloxone in the Suboxone to process, before you can take other opiates and have them be effective, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, s...

I have been taking 60mg of Morphine daily for a year. This past week I took 3-4 8mg Dilaudids daily. Last night I went back to 60 mg Morphine. This morning I took 6mg of Suboxone and was in withdrawal 20 minutes later. I had to take a 1 mg Xanax and fell asleep. I am worried about tomorrow. I have no more Subs but I do have a 60mg Morphine. How long should I wait to take the Morphine? ## Go see a Doctor and stay on suboxone if you wish to turn your life around. You got sick on suboxone as you took it way too soon after taking morphine and put yourself into precipitated withdrawal. Combining opiates with xanax puts you at much higher risk of overdose and death. Get help please ## I took 4mg of sub at 9am will I still feel the opiate if I do it around 3 or 4 pm today?? ## @Kayla, Based on...

I am dependent on norco 10/325 and was taking between 7-10 per day. I want to get off of them completely but the withdrawals are way too intense. I want to know a way to do so safely and comfortably. My situation is that on thursday mid day i had taken my last norco. By friday morning i had started feeling the withdrawal. I had gotten a 8mg suboxone and only took half and withdrawal went away really quickly all day friday. All day sat i was still fine on only the half then sat night i started feeling the withdrawal again so i took the other half. The rest of the day i was fine and all day sunday and all day monday. I have another suboxone tablet just in case it happens but am i doing this safely and will it work to get off everything completely? ## Dear dan, it all depends on how long u...

I can take up to 8mg per day but I only take around 4mg per day for knee pain. I have had mouth pain off and on for the last year and I thought it was a yeast infection so I went to my GP and they did a diagnostic and it was not a yeast infection. It eventually went away, I think my doctor gave me an antibiotic but I also ate tons of yogurt. It happened again and I was taking a medication that caused my body to dry out. I have a big problem with dry eyes so my doctor then felt that I had a dry tongue. I started washing my mouth out with violene mouth wash and using xylimelts in my mouth at night and that made it go away. Now it is happening again so I wanted to know if it could be my suboxone since I am no longer taking the other medication. If it is the while top of my tongue is sore a...

I took 2mg of suboxone yesterday afternoon. It has been a little over 24 hours. I do not use suboxone alot. When will I be able to take an opiate again? ## It's best to leave about 72 hours, between taking Suboxone and another opiate, unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I took 32mgs of suboxone over the course of one day. 14 hours after taking the last 8mg strip, I took a 30mg oxycodone and felt nothing. I went on suboxone last Demember, almost exactly a year ago today, and I've been off since late October. My doctor started me on 3 8mg tabs daily which I took every day for about 8 months. I told him 7 months into it I was ready to ween off which i did so in 4 mg increments. i tapered down for about 4 months going down 4mg sometimes in 2 weeks and sometimes in 2 months depending on how I was feeling. The withdrawal during this time was noticable but bearable and made me dread what coming off completely was going to be like. Once I got down to 1mg daily I told my doctor that was it and stopped going. The physical withdrawals I felt were like nothing I've ever been through before. Going on this medication after 160-240mg a day oxy habit seemed like a great idea at the time but I a...
