I have been taking Oxycodone 10 mg tablets four daily and Oxycontin 10 mg once daily at bedtime for several years. For the past month I've been going from hot to cold daily. Sometimes it only lasts for a short while, but more and more the episodes are lasting most of the day. Could this possibily be caused from my doses needing to be increased? I really don't want to increase the amount of these meds, but these hot/cold/hot/cold spells are driving me crazy. I'm a 71 year old woman and even the amount that I'm presently taking continues to make me sleepy, and this is why I don't want to increase the amount that I'm already taking. Thank you for any help you may offer. ## It is really hard to say, according to FDA reports, there are many different issues that could...

After two years on oxycodone 10mg 4x daily withdrawal between doses was getting unbearable so doc switched me to morphine ER 15mg 2x daily with oxycodone 5 mg for breakthrough pain. I just started today. I took the pill at about noon and now it is 7pm and I feel withdrawal symptoms. I want to know if it is common for morphine ER to not last a full 12 hours as advertised. ## Hello, Liz! How are you doing? I am sorry about how you feeling? Has there been any change? The issue here might be due to the fact that Morphine is not as strong as Oxycodone, each 15mgs of Morphine is equivalent to 10mgs of Oxycodone, Thus, your dosage has not actually be changed, or increased. My husband was given narcoset (spelling?) for severe neck and back pain, now he is so dizzy he can't stand; is this normal. ## Did you mean Norco or Percocet? They are two different medications. Norco contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. Both, however, are narcotic pain medications and yes, dizziness can be a side effect, especially if he is not used to taking narcotics. It should wear off, as his body adjusts to the medication and it should only last for an hour, at the most, after he takes the medication. If it lasts longer than that, doesn't wear off or gets worse, then he will need to stop using them and contact his doctor. He may also experience other side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are...

I've only been taking subs for the last 2 days roughly at maybe 8-10mg for those couple of days. How long should I wait until I take oxycodone to make sure the effects actually work. I have no other history with suboxone and the last time I took any oxycodone was a little over 2 weeks ago. I would say my metabolism is above average. However, I just don't want to waste the 15mg of oxycodone that I do have. Also, do i have any risk of randomly having withdrawals from the oxycodone after taking it this one time? ## Also, I forgot to mention that it has been almost 2 days since the last dose of suboxone(which was about 3mg). ## I'd like to know the answer to this as well as most cases have people who have been on sub for years. ## Finally the question I need answerd... and no an...

Dr in Galveston Texas who is able to prescribe pain medication like Vicidan ## Hello, Sundowner! How are you? You'll need to see a specialist to have such medications prescribed, due to the new requirements set forth by the DEA last year. what color do these pills look like? ## There is no 60mg of the instant release Oxycodone, it is only available in 5mgs. There is a time released tablet in 60mgs, called Oxycontin, which would have the marking OC or OP on one side and a 60 on the opposite side. The tablets should be red. I take 5MG oxycodone 2x a day. Last dose was yesterday 4am and 3pm. Is it safe for me to drink next day, late afternoon? ## Hi survivor, According to research from umm.edu, drinking alcohol with oxycodone in your system can cause potentially dangerous side effects such as difficulty breathing, confusion, dizziness, slurred speech, and impaired cognitive function. For those reasons they recommended that patients avoid alcohol during the course of treatment. The interaction between these two drugs also categorizes it as having a "high interaction potential". This may mean that even just a few sips of something could do you in. Better to play it safe in my opinion. Hope this helps!

Pain relief needed. Do they make a oxycodone patch, or something similar besides fentanyl? I used fentanyl for about 5 years.
