I would like to chime in here. If all possible do not take oxycontin er. I have been on them for 7 years now. I was taking Norco for a muscle disease I got for chemicals when I was in the army. I had a heart attack later on and my doctor at the time said I had to take these OXY. That it was safer if I knew what I know know I would have punched him in the mouth. I was on 140 mg er. I am now chemically dependant on them. It's miserable up and down wake up in the morning in full blown withdrawals. I have been self tapering myself off of them. This is a very very miserable. I am now down to 10 mg 3 times a day. Getting ready to go to ir's. I dropped 10mg ever couple of weeks to get here. I will never take another opiate when I can get off. If you are in my boat I am here to say you ...

I was prescribed percocet 5-325 for a toothache. I haven't taken them in a couple days BT the dizziness hasn't went away and I keep having hot flashes. Is this normal or should I go back to the emergency room?? ## Hello, Heather! How are you feeling? Side effects shouldn't last that long, after stopping them. Have you visited a dentist, about the tooth issue, yet? If you have an infection, it could be what's causing these symptoms. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## ...remains in your bloodstream no longer than 20 hours. It depends on the person and the severity of their pain, but it's generally dosed every 6 hours. Hey! So a little background on myself, I have been dealing with back pain for over 5 years, and finally switched to a new clinic who has confirmed that I have MS and Ankylosing Spondylitis Reactive Arthritis. I also have 2 discs out of place (L3 and L4). My doctor recently started me on Oxycodone HCl 5mg every 4-6 hours, but not to exceed 4 per day. Well here is my issue: they last a whopping hour and a half tops. So then I have to sit around in pain while being a stay-at-home mother to a 2 y/o, for at least another 2 hours. But I don't want to take more than prescribed, and I am not sure what to do at this point. Is there anything that lasts longer than this?? Thank you in advance! ## Hello, KLM0116! How are you? It is normal for your doctor to want to start you off with the lowest...

My doctor gave me Morphine Sulfate ER 30 mg tablets and said they would last longer for pain than what I was taking, which was Oxycodone 10/325. The Morphine pills don't seem to last that long for me. What should I tell my doctor to prescribe me? Right now I take 2 of the Oxycodone and 2 of the Morphine a day. Before I was taking 5 of the Oxycodone a day and it just wasn't getting me through the day. I just had my 2nd surgery, 1 on my neck and 1 just recently in my lower back. In a lot of pain in my shoulders now from I guess the neck surgery and am going back to work soon but I need to know what to tell my doctor - what kind of pain medication might work better or at least suggest something to him. I have been doing research. Can you help me please? ## Hello, Robert! How are yo...

After two years on oxycodone 10mg 4x daily withdrawal between doses was getting unbearable so doc switched me to morphine ER 15mg 2x daily with oxycodone 5 mg for breakthrough pain. I just started today. I took the pill at about noon and now it is 7pm and I feel withdrawal symptoms. I want to know if it is common for morphine ER to not last a full 12 hours as advertised. ## Hello, Liz! How are you doing? I am sorry about how you feeling? Has there been any change? The issue here might be due to the fact that Morphine is not as strong as Oxycodone, each 15mgs of Morphine is equivalent to 10mgs of Oxycodone, Thus, your dosage has not actually be changed, or increased. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, diz...

How long does feeling last he took one and 5 325 oxcodone his arms here but the not the feel he took at 6pm ## Hi Connie, It's a little difficult to understand the entirety of your post due to grammatical errors, but immediate release oxycodone has an estimated half-life of 4 hours - At which point only 2.5mg out of the 5mg would still be active. I believe this is why typical adult dosing charts suggest taking 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed for around the clock pain relief. 5mgs is also the smallest available dosage of oxycodone (at least to my knowledge) - So you could always talk with your doctor about going up to 7.5mg or 10mg if the 5mg isn't sufficient. I hope this helps!

I get 10 mg. Endocodil in Mexico made by BioGenTec. It is supposed to be the same as the oxycontin prescribed to me in the U.S. However it is not the time released version that I prefer, and is very expensive. Mexico will not allow Oxycodone into the country by mail. Is there any legal way around it, and cheaper? ## I teach english here in Chihuahua Mexico and none of the pharmices here have oxycodone so my doctor gave me Liberaxim it's 2 milgram morphine doesn't take my pain away please help ## I have tablets that are supposed to be 20mg oxycodona tablets from Mexico made by Biogentech. Hi, I'm new to this and am having the same problem. I live in SWFL in port Charlotte. I have severe chronic lower back pain and neck pain. Ive been seeing the same pain mgt Dr for 2 yrs. I got my prescription last week, and drove 200 miles, and can't fill the roxycodone 30's 150. Ive gone to Walgreens for about a year, with no problems. I went there last wk amd pharmacist told me we don't have them, and even if we did, I'm not comfortable filling the script. Ive tried all the mom amd pop pharmacies, and was told they're not taking new patients. So what am I supposed to do? Like a dummy, I also had a script for flexeril amd lyrica. I sent out the lyrica by mail to be filled. I let Walgreens fill the fexeril. She asked me are you sure you want to separate these? I ...

i would like to see how the pills look to make sure im getting the right medication ## Since there are different formulations of Oxycodone available, the time released, the immediate release and the regular release, the last two of which are also available as generics, I cannot possibly list descriptions and markings for all the tablets on the market. Oxycodone is also available combined with Acetaminophen in several products, such as the brand names Percocet, Roxicet or Endocet and this is also available as generics. What are the markings on the ones you have? That is what enables us to identify them for you. I can tell you that if you are on the time released formulation, Oxycontin, they are very easy to identify, since they are only available in the name brand, which is manufactured ...

I've been taking oxycodone 15mg green tabs for chronic pain management. My last prescription I dropped off at Walmart pharmacy. When I picked up my prescription the pills the pharmacist showed me looked very different from the green round pills I'm used too taking. Theses pills, made my Rhodes made me sick immediately. I suffered withdrawal like symptoms (headache, dry mouth, anxiety) and had little or no pain relief for two weeks. I see my doctor again on Friday and I'll not be filling my prescription at Walmart as long as they are carrying Rhodes brand oxycodone. ## Hello, Lyn! How are you? Is this exstended release? I can't figure it out it doesn't seem like it lasts me 12 hours but I don't know if I can take anything else because I'm not sure if they are extended release or not ## This tablet is manufactured by Caraco Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 20mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation. Generally, they last 4 to 6 hours, but you should follow your doctor's dosing instructions. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I've only been taking subs for the last 2 days roughly at maybe 8-10mg for those couple of days. How long should I wait until I take oxycodone to make sure the effects actually work. I have no other history with suboxone and the last time I took any oxycodone was a little over 2 weeks ago. I would say my metabolism is above average. However, I just don't want to waste the 15mg of oxycodone that I do have. Also, do i have any risk of randomly having withdrawals from the oxycodone after taking it this one time? ## Also, I forgot to mention that it has been almost 2 days since the last dose of suboxone(which was about 3mg). ## I'd like to know the answer to this as well as most cases have people who have been on sub for years. ## Finally the question I need answerd... and no an...

doc gave 10mg oxycodone ER but can only take 1 every 12 hours and its not working for pain!! wondering if u can take it sooner than the 12 hours? ## You may take one sooner, depending on your tolerance level... how long you've been taking the medication, etc. I wouldn't take it any sooner than 6hrs from your last pill. Time release pills often do not work as well as regular release pain medications I've found. Instead of taking another pill sooner, you might want to talk with your doctor and see if they will put you on a pain medication that isn't time release. ## You should not exceed your doctor's dosing instructions. If the given dosage is not helping you, you should inform them, as you may need a dosage adjustment, or to try a different medication. The FDA warns ...

Any idea if oxy immediate release by Rhodes Pharma may be left over from a placebo study ? ## Starting last month, I was given these in 20mg tablets. I always feel sick, have a headache, and get no pain relief. It's awful. I just left a message for my dr to see if I can forfeit these, drop my dosage, and get another manufacturer. Something is really, really wrong with these pills. ## Unfortunately, not every product from every manufacturer works for everyone that tries it, since we are all different. I know that doesn't help your situation, I am just giving the basic facts. You are not the first to complain about this Oxycodone, and I am sure there will be more complaints, as well. It worked well for me, when I took it, after dental surgery, but that was several years ago, and I...

I have chronic neck and shoulder pain and have been getting 30 mg oxycodone outside of the doctor. my friend moved out of state. how can i get a doctor to prescribe them to me? please help running out ## Hello, Nickelboy! How are you? Well, you're not going to be able to go to a doctor and just ask them to prescribe Oxycodone. It is a controlled substance and doctors are taught to view that as being drug seeking behavior, so they'll usually refuse to prescribe anything. You'll need to see a doctor, get a diagnosis and assessment, then discuss your treatment options. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that co...

I am taking 5mg (blue tablet) twice a day for back discomfort. I’ve been on it for quite s while I would say couple of yrs. I want to know if it can cause me to have a seizure every so often. They can’t find out any cause for them. I have no history of them or no one else in my family has seizures. I never ever had them before. I also get hot flushes through my whole body that last about 5 minutes or so every once in awhile. I want to go off them. How do I go about it. Is there a pill less strength than 5 mg(oxycodone). ## That is the lowest strength that I am aware is available, though if it is a regular release formulation, you should be able to cut it to lower the dosage, with your physician's approval. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habi...
