Hello I have been on opiates for about 2 years now and I was given a half of a quarter of a subutex and this is my first time taking it. I was wanting to know when it wears off? I think it threw me into full detox because I took 20 mg of hydrocodone 7 hours before I took the sub. I am aware I have a problem I just want to know when the sub will wear off. Took it at 1:30 pm, it's now 9:30pm. ## It usually takes about 72 hours, before other opiates will be effective for you, again. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## That is not necessarily true. If it's the only one he has ever taken and in such a small do...

Can I use an open liquid amoxicillin for a 2 year old that I got on 11/03/2016? He's been messing with one of his ears. ## Hi Sara, I see you posted this back on December 28th 2016 so you may have already come to a consensus on what to do... But I would say that if it has been left open for nearly two months or longer then that's probably not something I would recommend taking. Liquid solutions in particular I believe are more susceptible to going bad than tablets. Not to mention that any impurities might have made their way into the open bottle during that time period. I also think the effort to get a fresh antibiotic will ultimately be worth while, to ensure the safety and efficacy of the treatment. My best wishes to you and your son!

I was just given one of these pills as a substitute to taking 12 "512" percs a day. What am I to expect? How long is the time release? When should I take more if I ate some at 9am? Do they destroy you like the original OCs do? ## I am reffering to the 20 mg OP. Sorry! ## Hi Heidi, I personally don't have any experience with this medication, but thought I'd offer some information I've gathered, just to help you out: "Take OxyContin (OP) every 12 hours. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. Take your next dose 12 hours later. Call your healthcare provider if you are not sure about your dose of OxyContin or when to take it." Seeing this, I'm assuming that the time release effect lasts up to 12 hours. I could be wrong, but I do know that shortly wi...

I'm on pre gablin 200mg twice a day how long do I leave it before starting subutex ive been on pre gablin for 6 weeks ## Hello, Gav! How are you? There is no need to worry about taking Pregabalin and switching to Subutex, since Pregabalin is not an opiate. Some people even take it with Suboxone, or Subutex. The FDA warns that Subutex carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help? ## Iv just started 2day on 4mg subetex how long will it take for my body to get used to the change i was on methodone and took last dose sunday n started subetex 2day monday i also take gabapentin will that help with withdrawl

I take a oxy neo 20 mg at 930 am and want to know how long before i start feeling the effects and how long will it last in my system ## Hi maria, The amount of time it will take for you to start feeling the effects of OxyNeo is dependent on your own unique body chemistry and whether or not you eat food directly before/ after you take the medication. It shouldn't take more than an hour for the medication to make its way into the bloodstream..but if you do eat something with the medication that could make the process longer. The dosing information I found says that if you aren't taking any other opioid medications, you can take (20 mg) every 12 hours if necessary. Therefore, I imagine that 12 hours is the amount of time the effects are supposed to last. However, like I mentioned p...

If I'm taking suboxone and I ran out. If I take a 20mg opana how long will it take for the my body to metabolize it? ## Depends on the 1/2 life of Opana? Plus you may not even feel the effects of it due to Suboxones long long half life ## @Jay, The length of time any medication remains in your system is going to be dependent upon several factors including: the dosage taken, the duration of time you've been taking it, your age, weight, diet, whether or not you're taking anything else with it, etc. The only way I can personally help you to determine how long it might take for the Opana to leave your system, is to tell you the half life (like Matt mentioned above). Opana (oxymorphone) has an average half-life of 7-9 hours, which means that every 7-9 hours half of your last dose...

Hi My daughter has 2 bottle of amoxicillin in the refrigerator. Never used but already mixed. The pink one. The expiration date in the bottle says January 2018. Will it still be good to use? The actual date mixed was July 18 2016 ## In my opinion it should be perfectly fine to take. I say this because I would personally feel comfortable taking it based on the info you provided. Depending on storage conditions many prescriptions can reportedly last up to 40 years after the listed expiration date (with few exceptions such as tetracycline). Harvard University and the LA Times both have articles online recognizing this... But since it's not even January 2018 yet I wouldn't even begin to question its efficacy (especially because it has been refrigerated)... Does anyone else have thou...

Hello, I've been taking sartel 20mg daily every morning for the last 40 days. During my doctor's investigation my BP was about 140/100 in the day time commonly and rarely 150/100 for a few days. Now my BP is continuously 130/90 max and has been for 20 days. My doctor advised me to take 3 months worth of tablets. But i feel the need to stop the tablet. So please guide me. Shall i stop or continue? If i stop the tablet will my BP go up or cause any issues? I am very scarred to take this tablet. So please provide your expert opinion. ## Why are you scared to take the medication? I take 50mg of methadone everyday for 3 years went up as high as 200 mg but tapered down to 50 but for the last month I have dosed once every 3 days so I have been without methadone for 3 days now when can I take my dose of suboxone utterly scared of pre withdrawal please help ## Hello, Randy! How are you? You have to be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone, or it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I also am on methadone ..and I can tell you...

I have been taking 60mg of Morphine daily for a year. This past week I took 3-4 8mg Dilaudids daily. Last night I went back to 60 mg Morphine. This morning I took 6mg of Suboxone and was in withdrawal 20 minutes later. I had to take a 1 mg Xanax and fell asleep. I am worried about tomorrow. I have no more Subs but I do have a 60mg Morphine. How long should I wait to take the Morphine? ## Go see a Doctor and stay on suboxone if you wish to turn your life around. The last 3 dispensers I checked have significant amount of beads left over. I started checking as I seemed not to get relief any longer. I also am getting them from the VA I checked a couple 2 years ago and there was very little left after 60 doses. The 1st two I checked were close to expiration but the last expires Sept. 14th 2014 it is now April 9th 2014. It seems to sound differently when opening also. ## Hello, RonDon! How are you? You are not the first person to mention this. Have you contacted the manufacturer to inform them of the problem? Have you discussed it with your prescribing doctor?

I have some Buspirone that expired in 2008. Is it still ok to take this if I'm having some anxiety? ## Hello, Calvin! This medication is not listed by the FDA as becoming dangerous, once expired, but it does start to lose effectiveness, so in my opinion it would actually be best to dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription. However, according to the following article (listed below) from NIH, “the expiration date doesn't really indicate a point at which the medication is no longer effective or has become unsafe to use”, and is more of an arbitrary date based on the whit and whim of the pharmaceutical companies’ product “guarantee” that the labeled potency will last “at least” until that date. The article also goes on to not...

Is it possible to at least cut these in half in order to take a lower doseage? ## These are time released tablets and, even though they have tried to formulate them to prevent it, cutting them in half could still result in your getting too much of the medication released, at once. The Oxycodone in this is a very potent narcotic analgesic and getting too much at once could be very dangerous. If you require a lower dosage, you should contact your doctor, as they can prescribe them in a lower amount. Are there any other questions? ## I have cut these into quarters with no adverse affects. So it is basically become a 5mg dose. I like these because they do not contain acetaminophen like most other narcotic prescriptions. So one pill can last me up to 2 days. ## I need help and wanted to know...
