How Long Does Morphine 30 Mg Last By Taking It

I am forced off morphine as drug panels allowed doctors to force legitimate pain patients off meds with no legal protections for patients. The pain associations that promoted drug evaluations, did not advocate that patients be withheld pain meds, unless they had aberrant behavior more than 2 times. Veterans killed themselves because of a intolerant policy that forced them into withdrawal. Many were forced into withdrawal then given drug panels, and many could not receive treatment for their disabling pain. The DEA called the VA the candyland drug dealers for veterans, said there is no legitimate use for pain, that patients just want to feel high. They have gotten away with it so far. The Federal gov. participated in this cover up as 50,000 people committing suicide a yr. is not a public...

I have been taking 60mg of Morphine daily for a year. This past week I took 3-4 8mg Dilaudids daily. Last night I went back to 60 mg Morphine. This morning I took 6mg of Suboxone and was in withdrawal 20 minutes later. I had to take a 1 mg Xanax and fell asleep. I am worried about tomorrow. I have no more Subs but I do have a 60mg Morphine. How long should I wait to take the Morphine? ## Go see a Doctor and stay on suboxone if you wish to turn your life around. You got sick on suboxone as you took it way too soon after taking morphine and put yourself into precipitated withdrawal. Combining opiates with xanax puts you at much higher risk of overdose and death. Get help please ## I took 4mg of sub at 9am will I still feel the opiate if I do it around 3 or 4 pm today?? ## @Kayla, Based on...

My doctor gave me Morphine Sulfate ER 30 mg tablets and said they would last longer for pain than what I was taking, which was Oxycodone 10/325. The Morphine pills don't seem to last that long for me. What should I tell my doctor to prescribe me? Right now I take 2 of the Oxycodone and 2 of the Morphine a day. Before I was taking 5 of the Oxycodone a day and it just wasn't getting me through the day. I just had my 2nd surgery, 1 on my neck and 1 just recently in my lower back. In a lot of pain in my shoulders now from I guess the neck surgery and am going back to work soon but I need to know what to tell my doctor - what kind of pain medication might work better or at least suggest something to him. I have been doing research. Can you help me please? ## Hello, Robert! How are yo...

is it safe to mix morphine and clonazepam ## My Dr put me on 30 mg of ms contin for chronic pain after a spinal fusion. There was damage to my sciatic nerve so the surgery didn't help and the nerve pain was still in my right leg even 3 years after the surgery, I have been on clonazepam for 4 years for R LS and dyskinesia for 4 years.Recently I took the prescribed amount of ms contin and the clonazepam and i ended up in the ER for an overdose, Is this common with these 2 drugs? ## My wife has had polio, scoliosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and Reynolds syndrome... she takes morphine and Percocet together... lately, she's been taking clonazepam to help her sleep... That combo sometimes knocks her out... like OD... I've taken her to the hospital 4 times in the lasts 4 months... She...

My husband is on 2 - 30 mg morphine daily. He feels terrible and just wants to get off. How? ## From personal experience, I can tell you that even only using it as prescribed can result in severe withdrawal symptoms if you stop cold turkey. Mine lasted for nearly a month. The best way to stop Morphine is to slowly taper it off, that way you minimize the withdrawals. He should really consult his doctor to get the best taper schedule and be under a doctor's supervision while he is stopping it. It is a very potent narcotic. Has he spoken to his doctor about his desire to stop using it, yet?

I have taken off-green color *generic morphine 30mg e.R for a number of years with good results / 4 chronic pain. Now pharmacy is giving me morphine tab - 30mg e.R made by a lab called *mallinkrt. Taking it does bother my stomach, and does not last as e.R should. Seems alot of this stuff being substituted at pharmacies. Twice I've been given this made by mallinkrt lab and it doesnt work. Anyone else having this trouble? ## I have problems with MSContin but that is quick release. They decided to put me on 15 mg KADIAN which is lon lasting as in time release all day- hour. I take it 3x'x a day. No problems but its not generic and costs me 50.00 each script. The morphine is supposed to also extend the life of percocet which I take 4 times a day with 3 of them being taken with the k...

I am taking morphine sulfate er 30mg tablets twice a day and also taking morphine sulfate imm rel 15mg once, sometimes twice a day. Finances won't allow me to get the morphine er at this time. Question: what is dosage of morphine imm per day without morphine er for 5 or 6 day until I can get the morphine er? ## They are both Morphine, so the dosage would be the same, however, the problem you are going to run into is that it is not going to last as long and since it is being released into your body much faster, this will potentiate the side effects, such as the nausea, dizziness and constipation that it can cause. Have you consulted with your doctor? You should really do so, before you try anything of this nature. It would probably work better for managing your pain to take a lower d...

I was taking 30mg oxycodone and the doctor switched to 15 mg Morphine ER and 15mg oxycodone and the pain is the worst it's been in the last 8 months. Am i going crazy or is it possible that the morphine does nothing for me. And if so I can't see the doctor for another 7 days ## 15mg er morphine is the least amount available in the er class of pain meds, er stands for extended release, this means that basically you are receiving 15 mg per 6 hrs, over a 12 hr period. and obviously you receive half of the dose you were getting with oxycodone. long story short, you Dr.isn't doing you any favors, only reducing your pain meds and increasing your pain!, 15 mg er morph doesn't do much at all! ## Morphine when taken by mouth is super weak. I am suprised you didnt have some feelin...

So I'm 30 years old. I have been taking various pain medications in very large doses for 15 years. I once ate 42 10/set hydro in one day. I was not worried about overdose on hydro, just acetaminophen. So I have a brain full of opiate receptors. From what I have read the longer and larger your tolerance well what happens is your brain builds more opiate receptors. So this is how high my tolerance is. I can take 36mg of Suboxone and the next morning at about noon take a couple hundred mg of morphine and feel full effects. So even though buprenorphine is so many times different in potency to morphine, the fact that it does not activate receptors but partially must play a major role in how Suboxone works with super highly tolerant patients. I believe my receptors saturation level may be...

Hello, I have an appointment coming up with PM Dr in a week. I am currently taking the morphine ER, 30mg twice daily, along with 4 10mg oxycodone per day as needed. .my questions are..is hydromorphone ER better vs the morphine ER in terms of pain control and how long it lasts in the body? I have very recently started to take these kinds of MEDS again and am trying to find something that works and I can afford. ..I know, good luck, right? Lol..anyway, I was also wondering if anyone out there might feel like hydromorphone is also better than oxycontin of similar strength? I know hydromorphone is way more potent than morphine, and I think I read that it is stronger than oxycontin also, but it seems to me that I have heard that the hydro does NOT last as long as the oxycontin. ..any help tha...

i have to change from Avinza 90mg. to M S contin 30mg3x/day or Oramorph 30 mg 3x/day I dont know which to go to as the generic version will cost the same. I can't afford Avina co pay anymore. ## Might be able to offer you some help. I was on Avinza, and yes it is costly. I found few years ago a website or place to get my medicine and you can have an income. Go to www.FreeMedicine.com to request application. The good thing is can have income level of $80K and family of four. Some sponsors offer help for patients who can't afford their co-insurance fees. I was paying $5.00 for s/h to be delivered by Fedex or UPS. I suggest to check out website, they carry over 5,000 types of medicines. They do charge a fee for each medication. Last I checked it was $10.00 and if they cannot provid...

Thirty mg morphine equals how many mg oxycodone? ## i have taken both within the last couple of months… i wouldn't say they are "equivalent" or use the word "equal" per se - but in my experience, they are interchangeable, & the doctor who prescribed both of them had prescribed 30mg of oxycodone and 30mg of morphine…. and i used them at the same dose and frequency…. imo, they are pretty similar… although the morphine is more sedating than the oxycodone….. ## Hi Jerry, According to an equianalgesic (opioid) chart from Stanford, Oxycodone is said to be about 1 1/2 times more potent than Morphine on a milligram to milligram basis. They conclude that 120 mg of oral Oxycodone is similar to taking 180 mg of oral Morphine. However, this is n...

i was taking 60 mg of morphine for 3 weeks and 30 mg for a week now 15 mg a day every other day how long will it take for me to withdraw from it i have taken the last of them ## i found a kind of light orange round pill with a N on one side and the number 60 on the other side i was wonder if you could tell me what it was and what it's for? ## Wenbee, there is no way to give a precise answer, because the withdrawal effects and how long they last is always going to vary from person to person. Some people don't experience any, while others can experience them for a month or more. James, I can't be 100% certain, because I have not seen them and can't find a listing with an image, but this may be a 60mg Morphine time released tablet from Canada. I take morphine 60 mg 2 at a time it has a m on one side 60 on other. I know it's extended release but how much do u get at a time and how long does it last? Plus I can take 5 to 6 30 mgs of oxycodone at a time so how many morphines do I need to equal that? ## Hello, I believe that the absorption rate of any medication is determined by weight and other factors that only your doctor can asses. Is 5 to 6 (30 mg) Oxycodone pills what your doctor prescribed to you? I'm not exactly sure how many grams of Oxycodone will equal 2 (60 mg) Morphine pills, however I do know that Oxycodone is 1.5 times stronger than Morphine. I hope that information is of help to you in some way. If you are considering changing your medication, I recommend that you pay a visit to your doctor.

I just went to a new pain dr. For 8 years I was on OxyContin 30mg. My insurance wouldn't pay so I was switched to 30 mg ms continue er. This worked fine. All with 5/325 Hydrocodone up to 4 daily for breakthrough. Within the last four months the old Doctor switched to 30mg IRR without telling me why the change. I think just mixed up. Actually it worked basically the same with the breakthrough meds. Now new doc changed to MS Contin er generic with same amount of breakthrough melds. I haven't started yet but am worried it won't work as well. Help ## Since it is a lower dose, it may not manage your pain as well and you may also experience some withdrawal symptoms. As listed by the FDA, withdrawal symptoms may possibly include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills and diarrhea. Is the...

I was taking 7.5 Vicodin they switched me to 30 mg morphine slow release the problem morphine is giving me a very bad headache will they get better or should I get switched to something else if so what would be the best ## Hello, Dan! How are you? How long have you been taking the Morphine? Headaches can be a normal side effect for the first month or so, but if it lasts past that time frame, you'll most likely need to switch to something else. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I have several questions. In general is morphine stroger than oxy ??? If oxy is stronger than morphine does anyone have suggestions on how to approach Dr ( this will b second visit. Dr seems sympathetic, is conservative) ??? Dr tells me MS Contin ER is supposed to last 12 hrs per tab, he started me 3x a day. I find that morphine only lasts 3-4 hrs @ most...how do I bring it up that I need more daily, something stronger than 30 mg ER, and or something for breakthrough (he can see that prev doc prescribed (30 mg IR oxy @ 8x daily as well as break through meds...he retired) ?? Any help or suggestions be appreciated ## Oxycodone is stronger than Morphine. For example, if you were taking a 10mg Morphine tablet, then to be an equivalent dosage, you'd only need 6.67mgs of Oxycodone. Learn ...

I am currently taking 60mg of morphine sulfate ER twice a day and 30 mg of oxycodone HCL four times a day. For some reason I came up short one morphine on the last day of my prescription, so I only have one I can take instead of two until I get my new script tomorrow morning. Instead of taking the last morphine this morning, I waited and took it around 4pm tonight. Will I have withdrawl symptoms from missing a dose of Morphine, but continuing to take the oxycodone 30mg? ## If you didn't have any during the interim, where you didn't take it until much later, then no, you should be fine. However, if you do, they'd be mild and may include rebound pain, diarrhea, dizziness and fever, as listed by the FDA. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the ...

My mom has chronic pain due to her low back. Has been on Morphine 15 mg SR for at least 15 years also Percocet 5mg for break thru pain. Last appt. with MD we explained that 15 mg was not covering her pain. I asked to bump her up to 20 mg (I am an RN) but was told that is not how it goes and was given a RX for Morphine 30 mg q 12 hours. She was on q 12 hours prior. Mom is sleeping 90 percent of the time. Has no real need for Percs anymore. Wondering if this sleeping all the time after getting adjusted to dose soon. Thank You for helping me. For over 10 years, I took 820 mg. morphine sulfate ER daily to manage chronic pain, trigeminal neuralgy and osteomyelitis in my jaw...(yes, I know that is spelled wrong, but don't want to take the time to look it up right now) Anyhow, about 1 1/2 years ago I started tapering myself off of it, one, because of the costs...astronomical, ridiculous, really..and for the last 6 months or so have been taking either 15/30 mg. regular release morphine every 4 hours. When I called my doctor to get an appt. for refills, the soonest appt. is 17 days away and I've only got about 1 week of medication left. I still have 200 mg. ER morphine left, but I don't want to accidentally overdose...do I still have a higher tolerance from being on it for so many years? ## Old mom The best and safest ...
