Is Methadone completely out of your system in 72 hours, or does it take longer? Since Methadone seems to last longer that 4 - 6 hours, I was just wondering? ## Although your system can rid itself of the methadone within about 72 hours in most cases, traces of it will still be detected in your urine for up to 3 weeks...longer if you get a blood test. ## It took me 3 months to kick methodone. After that, I had paws for another 4 months. Don't get started on that evil stuff unless you plan to stay on it for life. It's by far the worst withdrawl ever. Beware, you have been warned. Been clean from opiates, had a relapse, went to a methadone clinic but still on of course. If left up to them I would be forever with the money they're making in a private facility. So i've brought myself down to 10mg over period of time. But my question is how long does it stay in your system? I am on 70mg of methadone daily. Before I was on methadone heroin would only last in my system 2 days, 3 days at the most and that's only if I barely drank water and spent those days in bed. Now that I'm on methadone it's not that easy. Unfortunately, I have used heroin again and am due for a urine screen soon. I just started a new job that doesn't test on initial hire but rather between 1 and 4 months after you start and there's no warning when it's coming. I was on Oxycodone 30's, between 2 and 3 a day for quite a while. I can't work in withdrawls but I needed to kick it because I became dependent and it actually made my back pain worse after a while. So I got a handful of methadone and dosed daily at the following numbers: Day 1: 40mg, Day 2: 30mg, Day 3: 30mg, Day 4, 20mg, Day 5, 20mg, Day 6 20mg. Nothing past that. That got me through the oxycodone withdrawls pain-free and I had no withdrawls from the methadone at that dose for that period of time....though I know treating with methadone is dancing with the devil. I am on a methadone clinic and they just started taking levels of clonidine in our urine, if you are not prescribed, you get immediate discharge, no detox. Please help. ## I couldn't locate a definitive source for this answer, however a few references noted that Clonidine stays in your system for roughly 2-3 days for a urine test.
