I have been taking coversyl (4mg per day for six weeks) and have a very dry throat and mouth. How long will it take for this to clear up after stopping the coversyl? ## Those can be normal side effects, according to the NIH, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. However, if you are taking this to treat high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition, it could be very dangerous to stop the medication cold turkey. It would actually be best to consult your doctor, because you may need to try a different medication. Are you on any other medications?

I have been prescribed Neurontin and would like to know how long does it take to come out of your system? It is causing too many problems for me. Can you stop suddenly or do you have to ween your self from them?? ## Hi, Sweet Pea! Sorry about the problems that it's causing you. What types of symptoms have you been experiencing? How long have you been taking it? If you've been on it for awhile, at a high dose, suddenly stopping it could cause a risk of seizures, since it's an anticonvulsant. It is generally best to taper off of these types of medications. Have you discussed it with your doctor? ## I'm not on gabapentin anymore. I took one 300 mg 3 months ago that my Dr told me to take for my nerve pain and m.s. But I took a drug panel on July 15th. And today is August 1st...

I've been taking losartan for 4 weeks for terrible joint pain. I'm going to stop taking it since it has only been a month. Can I just stop it abruptly? ## Losartan is used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. It will not do anything to help with joint pain. And according to FDA reports, stopping it abruptly can create the risk of rebound elevated high blood pressure and elevated heart rate. Are you on any other medications? ## Losartan, i have been taking the 100mg for a week for high blood pressure and i have at least 1/2 to 3/4 of the simptoms in the side effects... its giving major back pain... how fast in your opinion can i stop this??? ## My father has been taking losartan 25 mg for 2 months and started getting a dry cough for a month now... Do you ...

I have been on hydrocodone for five years 10 mg for what started out for back pain. The time has come for me to stop since it has become an addiction. I will be out Friday 05/11/2012 and will begin to detox myself @ home. just wanting to know how long they take to get out of your system, and things to do to help while going through the with drawl process. ## While I don't have any personal experience with this medication, I have read that it could be in your system for about a week or so (depending on a number of factors). Usually for drugs like this, I think the safest way to stop taking them is to taper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of seve...

How long does it take 1mg xanax to enter your system? ## Quickly, 20 minutes or so! ## From what I could gather, Eddy's estimate was right on spot! It usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes max to start feeling the effects of Xanax. However, timing can also depend on the dose, your tolerance, and how much food you might have in your stomach at the time. Other benzotype medications such as Klonopin are long acting and can sometimes take up to an hour to notice relief. But if you're taking a lower dose of Xanax (immediate release) with no tolerance, I'd imagine that you'd notice it working within the first 15 minutes or so. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Xanax Details I hope this helps!

I am going to a reunion on nov.11th.and i take 900mg.of neurontin and 225mg.of lyrica per day, for 3 months.if I want to drink 5-6 beers at reunion could I stop taking these drugs for 2 days and get it out of my system, so I can safely drink at my reunion ## You can do that, if you wish, but you should consult with your doctor, first. Alcohol can also have a detrimental effect on some medical conditions, so you need to be certain it is safe for you to drink it. Are you taking them for pain or some other condition? In the case of these medications, you are warned against using alcohol, because it can aggravate the side effects, such as nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and CNS depression. ## If your same PCP is giving you Neurontin and Lyrica then he needs his credentials looked over. You ar...

I was on Evista for 2 years. I am suffering side effects of hip pain and flu like symptoms. How long after stopping Evista will the side effects go away? ## Hello, Julie! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. However, there is no definitive timeline that I can give you. It can vary from person to person and may take anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. Have you consulted your doctor to be sure that the Evista has caused the symptoms? They are fairly common side effects of it, but it's always best to be sure. As listed by the FDA, other side effects may also include leg cramps, hot flashes and abdominal pain. Are you on any other medications? ## I've been on evista for 3 days. Yesterday and today, severe pain in my foot and swelling o...

Been on 20 mg of methadone for six years. How long will it take to get out of my system? Thanks in advance. ## This is only intended to be an estimate, but most medications are usually out of your system within about 5 days after your last dose. And usually for drugs like this, the safest way to stop taking them is to taper off them under a doctor's supervision, if possible. So if you end up tapering, (which may be appropriate based on your description), then it will probably take a while longer before you can have your 'last dose' of methadone. Cold-turkeying just doesn't sound feasible after six years on any medication. Eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, staying hydrated throughout the day, and getting plenty of rest each night, will significantly aid your b...

I took Vicodin last night at 10 pm and I took suboxone this morning at 7 am. Am I clear to take opiates or not? ## Hello, Eric! How are you? You must be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone and, after taking it, it takes about 72 hours, before other opiates will be effective for you, again. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My dad (85 years old) was prescribed the loriderm patch for severe arthritis back pain and I noticed after he wore the patch for a few days he started to halucinate and was confused and very nervious so at the hospital they took the patch off. How long does it take for the medication to get out of your system? ## Hello, Marylou! How is your dad doing? How long was he using it? If he was only on it for a short period of time, then it shouldn't take more than a few days to be processed out. That's an odd side effect, however, since this is a topical anesthetic that's actually very mild and very little of it is absorbed. Are they sure it was from the Lidoderm? Is he on any other medications? ## Did you Dad take the patch off every 12 hours and did not put another on until 12 ho...

I was on xarelto for 1 month. I was taking 20 mg for a blood clot that developed from my mediport. The med caused me to itch so bad that I was switched to lovenox inj's. After three day of being on the lovenox I am still itching. It has mainly been my hands and my feet. How long do these medications work in your system for? ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. If you were on the Xarelto for a month, it could take a week or so for the side effects and reaction to stop. However, you should be aware that the Lovenox could also cause itching, as a side effect, along with dizziness, headache and easy bruising. In many cases, it's due to the change it makes to your circulation. The same can occur with other medications that affect your...

I have been using Pax for a few years for anxiety. A month ago I was told Pax wiil not be available in Sout Acrica untill middle 2017. The dr subscribed Urbanol 10 mg Twice a day. I only drink 10 mg at night. Been drinming it for 2 nights . How long will it take for by system to get used to the new pill to work? ## If you aren't taking the dose your doctor has instructed you to take then that is likely why your body is not getting used to it, yet, you likely aren't taking an equivalent dosage. Taking the amount your doctor has prescribed will likely help. The U.S. FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and irritability. Are you on any other medications?

Taking tracleer for ph for years. I'm 26 yrs old & weigh 133 lbs. I was taking 125mg 2x's a day. Blood work had been fine, Dec blood work showed high liver enzymes. All other test fine. I had alot of diarrhea & alittle vomiting. Dr took me off tracleer, still not 100%. ## Hello, Ray! How are you doing? If you were on it for years, it may take a few weeks, before things balance back out and you start to feel more normal, again. Do you take any other medications? Do you drink much alcohol?

For starters ive took klonopin .5mg twice a day for 2weeks and lexapro 10mg for 3 weeks now. The klonopin I was just taken off completely it was just being used till the lexapro took effect. Now my question is when will the klonopin be out of my system? The reason im asking the past 3 days ive been having terrible symptoms that look like side effects of lexapro but also withdraw from klonopin. So hopefully someone knows when this will be out of my system. I dont know if this is relevant but last time I was at my checkup I weighed 194lbs and was 5'10. ## Hi Bruce, From what I've researched, the estimated elimination half-life of Klonopin is reportedly 30 to 40 hours. Some medical professionals believe that medications take approximately three half-life's in order to be comple...

This is my first week on Belviq. At times I still feel hungry... How long does it take to get into your system? I'm also on Toprol 25mg... Would this drug be interacting with the effects of Belviq? I take 1 tablet twice daily of the Belviq... Thank you so much ## You are still going to feel hungry. It should help you feel full faster when you are eating. Make sure to take the medications before your meals and not with them. I think peak in your system is after two hours. They are coming out with a once a day which will make all that easier. ## Wait, if you are only taking once a day that may be the problem . This medicine should be prescribed twice a day. ## how Did belviq work for you? im going to start it today

Trying to find out how long to get this out of my body? I have been having hot flashes and chills. Also had rapid heartbeatoff and on . ## Unfortunately, those can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA, you may also experience headache, dizziness, and joint/muscle aches. However, it is really just going to be a matter of time for these symptoms to go away, once you stop taking it. Have you informed your doctor of the problem? There are some other medications you may be able to try, to see if they may not make you so miserable.

I got off my subs for a month and went back to full antagonists thinking I was gonna have gall bladder surgery. I can't take the opiates anymore so I went back to my subs two days ago after being on methadone for about two weeks. My question is why do I still feel so so weak and I'm not familiar with methadone, so thinking it's still in my system maybe and the two are fighting it out ??? ## Because methadone has such a long half life, I think your assumption is probably correct in that the two medications may be fighting it out on your receptors so to speak - potentially causing side effects such as weakness. MedsChat has a drug half life calculator on the home page here that estimates how long a specific drug/dosage remains in your body after certain time intervals; whereas...

I need a Doctor that will prescribe adderall or other ADHD medications in Portland, OR. I had a script before I moved here, but no luck finding a doctor that will let me have my script again. I really need this medication. I do not abuse it, but recently I've had a terrible time with Care Oregon. I'm willing to pay out of pocket, but some psychiatrists still will not even take an appointment with me bc I'm in the system under Care Oregon. In Arkansas, it was no problem. I had medicaid. My medicade was smoothed over due to the affordable care bs and it has been a year of red tape. I'm moving back to California and I am sure it will be very difficult there as well. Anyone know what I should do? I am thinking that I should schedule an appointment with a private practice and...

I have been taking tramadol 50mg for the last two years. I think i am addicted to it and it's deteriorating my health. So plz give me a suggestion as to how i can get off of it. ## A slow taper is usually the best solution, according to NIH reports. Withdrawals could cause nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, rebound pain, and seizures. Are you on any other medications? How much Tramadol are you taking each day? ## Kratom red vein....research it. I'm on day 5 cold turkey with little to no withdrawals....I was taking 8 to 20 a day for 3 years. I tried tapering and cold turkey before and thought I was going to die. For the past 4 days except for today I have been taking 8mg of suboxone, today I took 3-7.5 mg of Vicodin to no effect I'm guessing because of my blocked receptors, I'm looking to just continue my suboxone use, do I have to wait even though the suboxone already blocked everything, or will I go into precipitated withdrawals because there are opiates in my system? Thx ## @Curious, If you haven't received any kind of effect from taking a single vicodin, my opinion is that you should be fine to continue using suboxone as you were. However because I am not a doctor I would still encourage you to seek professional medication advice regarding this just to be on the safe side. There are also those here who have a lot of personal experience switching between the two and can offer a m...
