I'm on the second day of being off of Lisinopril after being on it for two weeks with really bad side effects. Chills. Itching, stomach pains, headache. My question is how long has the side effects lasted for everyone? Thanks, RB ## HI, Roddy! Sorry about the side effects you suffered. If you were only on it for 2 weeks, it shouldn't take too long for them to wear off, maybe a week or so, but it can vary from person to person and you should double check with your doctor. Have you already consulted your doctor to switch to a different medication? It isn't safe to just abruptly stop a medication like this, if you were taking it for high blood pressure or a cardiac condition. ## Hello Thanks for your reply! I'm on day 5 of being off of it. I'm going to try nature method...

I take lisinopril once a day at 9am. By mistake, I took it last night at about 1 am. Should I miss taking it for the rest of the day? ## What dosage do you take? While it is always best to double check with your doctor, the FDA usually instructs you to skip the next dose, then just resume your normal dosing schedule. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. ## I take losartan 50mg at noon, I notice it takes at least 6 hrs. before I get a good reading. If I cut the tablet in half and took both halves, would it maybe kick in a bit faster. Seems to have a coating on the pill. ## I'm taking lisinopril 10mg during the day and my readings are perfect, but after 4 or 5 my blood pressure goes up to 150/90 or...

What experiences have you had using lisinopril? I started using it 20mlg in the am. I think I am doing better using 10 in the AM and 10 in the PM? ## My doctor prescribed 40 mg. Lisinopril for my high blood pressure. Within a day, my pulse was under 50 and my bp was always under 90/50. I complained and he lowered it to 20 mg. daily. That is a little better, but now I'm having heart palpitations and dizziness. I think he's trying to kill me. If your doctor doesn't take your complaints seriously, you MUST switch doctors! I am going to this week. ## When they gave it to me in the hospital, last week, it caused a horrible headache and nausea. I was miserable. Lisinopril is used to help lower blood pressure. Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and fatigue...

I have been taking lisinopril for about a year with an annoying cough the whole time. Then suddenly last week developed a cough from hell, all day, and all night, no sleep, etc. Went to the doctor and they said it was the lisinopril and changed the perscription. When I was in line to pick it up the man in front of me was there for the same reason. Is there a bad batch running around? ## I doubt it is due to a bad batch, it is actually a very common side effect of this medication. For some people it is very mild and wears off after a few weeks, but for others, it continues or worsens and they have to switch medications. In all honesty, you should have talked to your doctor about the cough and something should have been done about it some time long before this. Are there any other questio...

I have been taking this medication for over 12 years my doc has been wanting me off this medication say it cause kidney problems etc. wants me in lisinopril 10mg. I'm afraid of weight Gain & other side effects. The last 6 months I have had some vertigo & migraine. They feel that triam/htz is causing this. Lisinopril seems to have same side effects. Very confused ## Hello, Lane! How are you? Yes, Triam/HTZ is a combined diuretic, which works by removing fluid from the body, so it can be very taxing on the kidneys and they likely do need a break from it, after this many years. However, the other side effects risks aren't really any different between it and the Lisinopril. Typical ones, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and h...

I've been on Lisinopril for almost 10 years. Started out taking 10 mg along with baby aspirin once a day. Im now on 20 mg once a day. Last year I got pancreatitis and am now diabetic due to my pancreas being inflamed. I believe it's from the Lisinopril and metabolism booster I was taking. I had another pancreas attack last Saturday but am feeling much better now. I'm not a drinker and there's nothing wrong with my gall bladder. I'm gonna try the mash diet but I'm scared going cold turkey on the Lisinopril, yet I don't want it hurting me anymore. What should I do? ## Sorry bout that. I read what I wrote. It's not the mash diet. It's called dash diet. Dietary approaches to stop hypertension ## Hello, Cheri! How are you feeling? Going off such a medicati...

low pulse, irregular heart beat ## I take both Lisinopril (10 mg daily) and Metoprolol (50 mg daily. 1/2 AM & 1/2 PM) These pills look a lot alike and it is possible to get them mixed up if not cautious. I did this about three times in a row last week. OOPS. But I'm still here and don't feel any side effects. I will be more careful in the future. Just thought I'd post this. ## i switched my metoprolol by mylan and my lisinopril by mylan to metoprolol by greenstone and my lisinopril by sandoz because it was cheaper but it sent me to the hospital. once arriving at the hospital they took my blood and said that i had a heart attack.. it was scary because i didnt feel right at all after i started takeing the generic forms. now im paying more for mylan but i feel as good as i ...

It can actually cause low blood pressure as a side effect. Learn more cialis information here. However, why haven't yo been taking the Lisinopril? My doctor gave me a month to get my blood pressure down - it was 150/95. I tried my best - eliminated salt, exercised like crazy - it was still high when I went back to him so he gave me this med. I felt nothing for the first week or so on it now I'm getting insane nausea. I can't eat. I lost 4 lbs last week. Food just makes me more sick. Coincidentally, each time I checked my own bp at the pharmacy or had the trainer do it at my gym it was 115/90 - not that bad. But he insisted that I needed something. I continue to exercise and eliminate salt in order to soon get off this med. I have a hard time believing that such a low dose would make me so sick. Could this be possible? ## Hello, Sunny! How are you doing? Sorry about the problems that you're having. Yes, a low dose could...

The possible side effects list this. For those who are user's of Lisinopril let me explain the term as I learned about it last Thursday: Steroid and epinephrine shots didn't knock it down, three attempts at intubation failed before they knocked me out and in those last few seconds I felt metal in my mouth, something going down my throat, a couple really good breaths and the sound of applause. I remember very little of the following day and was released a day later. There is something very unknown and unpredictable about this medicine where you can be on it for years without a problem and have a reaction to it like this! The ER doctor saw Lisinopril on my current perscriptions and said that's what caused it. An ex-ER nurse friend said that's what caused it. My doctor has ...

I have been on Lesinopril 20mg for a little over a year now. I just stopped taking it 4 days ago, trying to go natural on keeping my BP down. the first day I just did yoga each day, ate low calorie food as roasted veggies, and drank smoothies. My daily drinks consisted of Pomegranate juice and a spoon apple cider vinegar diluted with a cup of water. My average BP for the last 3 days was 121/78. Today I started having a severe headache, blurry vision and body ache in general. Is this common when you stop Lisinopril? While I do believe that I can keep my BP down naturally I am suspicious of the side effect of getting rid of this pill.. ## Hello, Rich! How are you? Yes, that can happen, if you suddenly stop such a medication, rather than tapering off of it, as reported by the FDA. You may ...

What is a small round pale peach colored pill with E173 imprinted on it? ## What pill is this and what is it used for ## Sherry: lisinopril / hctz is a med to help control blood pressure. ## Lisinopril hctz 20/25 is causing me to have hives all over my body, intense itching to the point I feel I am in an "outer body experience". The pharmacist told me the hctz is a histamine and after taking it for almost one month, it is now officially in my body, and my body has an allergy to it. So I've stopped taking it now, am taking a prednisone pac and using the hell out of benadryl cream and taking over the counter benadryl. I am ravaged. I started taking 5mg of Lisinopril about 2 years ago. Within a month or less I started having unexplained shoulder pain. Then they raised my dosage to 10mg per day. My joint and tendon pain keeps spreading. It's worst in my knees, but it moves around. I get it in my hands, elbows, hips, ankles, feet and even my neck. It feels like mostly tendon pain and tightness. It's like tendonitis without the swelling, redness and pain to touch. I'm gonna go off the Lisinopril tomorrow to see if it helps. If so I'm curious if anyone has had these issues with Lisinopril and how long they lasted once they were off the medication. ## That can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. However...

Age 44 Female, family history of heart attacks, strokes, hypertension. Finally went to the internist after feeling weird for about one year--I kept testing high BP repeatedly over the last year. I have 6 members of my family on lisinopril. Day One Lisiniopril HCTZ Report. To ease into it, I took a half pill (10 mg pill cut in half, so 5 mg). Side effects started within 2 or 3 hours. I had a (all too often these days) migraine when I woke up, so I cannot blame the drug for that. After I woke up, I took my BP 131/85, Pulse 83. Then I took my first half pill. Side effects: dry raspy irritated throat, it made it harder to talk at work, pretty bad muscle stiffness and cramping up and down my back (OUCH), general fatigue, weakness in arms, i tried to lift a laundry basket and i felt both of m...

I just started on 5mg of Lisinopril. I feel a little tired while exercising but nothign else so far - how long does it take side effects to start if you're going to have them? ## You should start experiencing them within a few days after you start the medication and they will usually last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks, which is about the same amount of time that it takes your body to get used to the medication. Learn more Lisinopril details here. From personal experience, the side effect I can tell you to keep any eye out for is the dry cough. When I was taking it, it took about 2 months for that to start and nothing relieves it, other than stopping the medication and switching to something else. The problem with it though, is that the cough is similar to the one you may get at the sta...

I've been taking lisinopril 20mg for more than 20 years. I have had side effects that come and go, such as coughing, lightheadedness, and dizziness. But now I have lightheadedness and dizziness all the time. Frequent urination, legs are weak, sometimes when I am walking I feel like I am going to pass out; and ED problems. I spoke with my doctor and he told me to stop taking it. I stopped taking it one week ago. My bp is 135/75. My question is how long will these side effects last before they go away? Thanks. ## Hello, Luis! How are you feeling? After being on it for so long, it may take a month, or so, before these effects go away and for you to start feeling better.
