How Long Does It Take To Get Addicted Percocet

I am addicted to opiates. Mostly Oxycodone, and Vicodin if I can't find my drug of choice. I am also prescribed Klonopin, 1mg 2X a day. A couple days ago, someone gave me 1 10mg Methadone because I was sick from not having my D.O.C. I was told not to take my Klonopin though because the mixture could be deadly. However I've just learned that mixing other opiates with Methadone can hurt you as well. So I took the methadone Saturday evening. Sunday I took Vicodin throughout the day, but did not take my Kpin. All day today I have been doing Percocet. I have done about 80mgs over the period of 5 hours. I also took my Klonopin today. I just learned today that methadone has a long half life, and that it probably is still in my body because it is only 3 days since I took it. My question...

I have a friend that was addicted to percocet. She was taking on average 12 pills (10s) a day. She stopped cold turkey and has been clean for 13 days. She has experienced all the talked about side effects (sleeplessness, irritability, depression, etc.). Tonight, however, it was something completely different. She was slurring her words, she wobbled when she walked, she didn't have any idea what was going on like where she had been or what she had been doing. Could this also be a withdrawal symptom? It was shocking and scary to me because it has been 13 days off the drug and this is the first that anything like this has happened. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! ## I believe she went sober for the 13 days and then took one too much. I am so sorry to hear about this incident...

My pain Management Dr. prescribed Percocet (512 pill), 4 times daily, 6 wks ago for my Spinal Stenosis, Spondylolisthesis and Arthritis. I am finally experiencing some pain relief . My MRI doesn't warrant surgery at this time. My big fear is that I willI become addicted to these Percocet tablets? Can this happen? ## It really depends on you, there is a difference between addiction, and dependence. Addiction occurs when someone abuses a medication, because they like the side effects, such as feeling high, according to NIH definitions, but side effects tend to wear off, once your body gets used to a medication, so they have to keep taking more and more to get those feelings back. If they suddenly stop they can experience severe withdrawal symptoms, which could put their lives in dange...

Do not mess with perc 30s. You will become addicted and it will ruin your life. Sure everyone thinks they could never become addicted but the percs will get you hooked fast. Stay away. I've seen good people turn into petty thieves to feed their addiction. If prescribed them be careful on how many you do a day because they are highly addictive and the withdraw is very intense. Do yourself and anyone who cares about you a favor and just stay away from them. I know from experience. Being an addict ruins your life. ## Well first, there are no Percocet tablets that contain 30mgs of anything. Percocet is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone. The only Oxycodone available in 30mgs are the formulations in which it is available by itself. Next, you can't say definitivel...

Not real sure why exactly it is that I feel it necessary to post here in this forum. Maybe I'm hoping that someone looking for help will read this and make the same decision myself and my husband did. 7 years ago I was introduced to the joys and wonderous feelings of pain pills. Always working in the restuarant industry as a server/ bartender, the high I got from taking tabs or percs or whatever I could get my hands on led me to believe that I was a better server, better at my job, made more money, could talk to people more openly and be a happier person all around. At first, like the beginning 3 years I would take 1 to 3 lortab 10 mg in one day and be hopping around all over the place till the wee hours of the morning, talking everyone's head off and energized to the max. As th...

I'm on 4 mg suboxone daily. I ran out early this month so this morning I took one percocet ten. I keep reading how you need to wait to take suboxone so you don't withdrawal bad but what if I'm not addicted to nothing but the suboxone? Do I still need to wait if it was one perc or am I OK to take my sub only hours later? ## KrKris37, I'm not here to criticize your use of suboxone. If you were prescribed this potent medication by a skilled medical provider these questions would have been covered prior to induction of this misunderstood and very potent medication. That said, you should have No trouble with continuing your current dosing regimen. Once a Consistent level of bupe has been achieved lesser opiates or opioids will have little to no therapeutic value in attempting...

I am 29 weeks pregnant and so far everything with baby has been great. But I have hide the fact that I take percocet 5mg here and there not all the time. I just completely stopped taking them. Will the baby be addicted ## Hello, Princess! How are you? Please inform your doctor that you have been taking them, even if it was just occasionally. There have been babies born addicted under such circumstances, so your doctor needs to be aware, to ensure the best outcome for your child. Is there anything else I can help with?

How much stronger is the percocet than the norco? ## Hello, April! How are you? For each 10mgs of Hydrocodone in the Norco, you only need 6.67mgs of the Oxycodone in the Percocet. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I hav been on norco tens four a day for two years. i hav become addicted. can i take a percocet ten mg to help withdraw symptoms ## Yes, any opiate medication will help with withdrawel. ## I'm so sorry to hear. What are the withdrawal symptoms like? Can you slowly decrease off so the withdrawals aren't as bad? ## You know I was taking norco10mgs 4times a day and the Dr changed to percocet 10mg3...

I have a oxycondin 30mg problem so I started taking perk 10mg to try and come off the OxyCondin but I'm eating them like they are skittles. Now I'm consuming thirty a day of perks 10mg. I have ate thirty perks like three or four times already. What I want to know or if someone could help me and tell me please if it is too much for my liver? P.s I don't have any pain. ## Yes, if you're taking that many Percocet a day, you are putting yourself in serious danger and may already have done permanent liver damage. The Acetaminophen in it can be toxic if you take too much in a day and if you're taking 30 of them, even at the lowest dosage of Acetaminophen, which is 325mgs that's 9,750mgs a day and it's toxic at 4,000mgs a day. Such toxicity has even been fatal in so...

My question is for long term users of the medication. I've been taking some form of oxycodone for 10+ yrs. I'm obviously addicted. It started out with percodan (they were more popular than the percocet where i;m from bak then. im from north Jersey.) the only difference between the 2 is cets contain tylenol, and the dans contain asprin. but then more percocets were being written outn they soon dominated. My habbit stood the same for many yrs, like i plateaued for several yrs. then i discovered 15mg oxycodone (roxicets). Then from there the 30's that i could remember breakin into 4's bec they were 2 strong. Now i'm taking 4 at a time. The biggest problem i have here is i need an MRI n bad because my back , my neck, n my legs are in agony. I however am unemployed n have...

I have spinal stenosis, degenerating and bulging discs, I have been taking 2-5/325 percocets, 1- 500 naproxen and 1- 10 flexerel every 6 hrs for 3 months now, I know I'm addicted to them but this is the only thing that alleviates my pain, what are the other long term affects of this regiment ## Are you addicted too them, or dependent on them? There is a difference. Dependence is when you have to have them to function, due to a medical condition and your body has become used to having them. Addiction occurs when you abuse drugs, because you like the way they make you feel, so you keep taking more and more of them. And as to the possible long-term effects, most medications are processed through the liver, so there is some risk of developing liver damage. The Naproxen may also caused f...

Is this normal to take this med for 5 yrs? I really never even knew she had adhd? In fact I really dont know why she is taking it or even started. Her phyc. precribed it to her , he also prescribed viibryd which is a ssri. She also takes precocet 10/325 for back pain, i am not sure how many she take, but she has pills located in 3 locations of the house, so she does not always take 4 a day. Then she has a lipoderm patch, and has acess to a fentonal patch also, not sure how much she uses this. Then she takes klonipin to sleep. She does not doc shop, but the vyvanse and the percocet come from2 different docs. I am most comcerned about the vyvanse abuse . It has been a long time . How do I stop taking opana er40 mg. I also take 10/325 Percocet. Should I try cutting down month to month or go to a rehab and have that instant detox done while I'm under? ## How much are you taking? Are you actually addicted and abusing them, or are you just taking them via a doctor's prescription and not taking more than prescribed? That's really what will determine your best option and you didn't provide such details in your post. Can you please post back with more information? Thanks!

I've been taking 90mg Avinza twice daily for about 11 years, with the addition of percoset 5mg 2-4x a day over the last two years. I still couldn't sleepplus had major anxiety issues, and after trying Ambien (awful!), Klonopin, Xanax & other meds that made me brain dead the next day, I finally began using cannabis with great success. It even relieved my pain by making me stop focusing on it. Then I scored a 21 on a drug panel at pain mgmnt and now they are tapering me off morphine & cold turkey on percocet. I've taken it for a decade and I'm terrified because I know my body is addicted. I don't drink, I barely smoked cannabis but will continue to and I've never abused my meds, but I know it will be a hard transition. Do I need to find a doctor to write fo...

I am trying to substitute for 10/650 Percocet. When I see my MD soon, I was going to ask for the equivalent Percodan instead ( afraid of liver damage after many years )...will I have problems adjusting and what is Percodan equivalent to (3) 10/650 Percocets day? Also, Is Tramadol the only way to get off this on my own? I hate taking it and have cut dose down over last year very difficult to do. ## do u think hydrocodone 5/325mg is right to be taken witht the patient with AlS? ## Have you tried or heard of Suboxone? It is a medication designed to help patients get off of opioid medications.. it can only be prescribed by a psych (with a licence to prescribe suboxone) or an addiction doc. Not that youre addicted.. but generally speaking after years of opioid use, getting off of the med ...
