Hello, I was diagnosed with Pneumonia 4 weeks ago, tried Zpack it didn't work then I tried Ampicillin it cleared up the Pneumonia but left me with fluid behind the ear drum the pharmacist suggested Benadryl, I do have another bottle of amoxicillin. I'm not in pain, no infection per ENT my hearing is just badly impaired. Thank You, for you thoughts. ## Hello, Brittany! How are you? It is a decongestant, so it can have a drying effect and might help. Side effects to it may include dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. However, you should only take it, if your doctor says that it is safe for you to do. More antibiotics won't help, since they only treat bacterial infections and will do nothing to dry up the remaining fluid. Plus, taking them inappropriately could result in your d...

I have been diagnosed with ptsd by two different doctors after the suicide of my husband. these doctors will only give me benadryl for anxiety with an antidepressant. the benadryl only makes me sleepy. ## Hello, Bsquirrel! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. What antidepressant have they given you? Many of them are effective at treating anxiety and are the preferred treatment choice, because it helps keep it under control all the time, unlike many of the other medications that are only taken as needed. ## you need Prazosin my dear... will take away your nightmares. antidepressants are garbage i think. the blood pressure medication works very good for night mares

According to benadryldosage.com, Benadryl dosage administration is something that most people should make sure they know properly if they ever want to use the drug properly. I know that the use of this drug varies by weight and it am so much in love with this drug basically because of is effectiveness. It works whenever symptoms of allergies do occur to my dogs and I always not bothered because of its effectiveness. Another person using Benadryl for your dogs?, let me hear from you.

So I've taken benadryl off and on, especially when I didn't have a prescription for loratadine back in the old days for my allergies, usually one every night. But the other day I took two in the span of three hours. 50 mg. I fell asleep for an hour later, and woke up with muscle weakness, later constipation, frequent urination, and a few others that I'm embarrassed to admit. I'm hoping that the "few others" were just my imagination, because I feel like 50 mg would be physically impossible to produce these side effects in 160 pound person? Or can you suddenly find yourself with a drug allergy? I hope not, because Benadryl is cheap, compared to loratadine which is 1 dollar a day. For now, I just went out and bought pseudophedrine and that's working fine. I look...

can i take more than 180 mg of fexofenadine my eyes are swollen and my throat is drying up i have an epi pen but am not sure when to use it ## Hello, Betty! How are you? The epi pen should be used when you have trouble breathing and you may feel like you are going to lose consciousness, or your family should know to use it, if you lose consciousness and can't communicate with them. There are training videos you can watch for them and it should be shot into the thigh. As to the Fexofenadine, while it can be taken in higher doses, it will not usually help fast enough, if you are having a severe anaphylactic reaction. In such cases, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or your epi pen are the best choices, unless your doctor instructs otherwise, because they work much faster and could save your ...

I found this in my teens bedroom. What is it exactly? ## This is an over the counter medication containing 25mgs of Diphenhydramine, a generic or store brand of Benadryl. ## it is a little blue pill that has L431 on one side ## What will happen it you take the blue pill with L431 printed on it? Like what are the side affects? ## It's an antihistamine, it's for allergies. Although some you people do take them in large amounts for a euphoric feeling, although they usually get dizzy and fall asleep. ## It's an over the counter sleep aid. That doesn't really work.

I had been taking a generic brand of Ambien nearly every night for 5 years. Due to increased tolerance, I gradually increased the dose from 10mg to 20mg over the past three years. These doses worked for nearly five years. Then suddenly, around the end of May, 20 mg wouldn’t work. I tried 30-40 mg and that was still less effective than 15-20 mg was even one month prior. I stopped taking Ambien altogether in June and I didn’t experience any withdrawal symptoms. The first few nights were difficult to fall asleep, but the adjustment was minimal. I was on a long holiday, so I didn’t have the pressure of getting up early. Some nights I took Benadryl or Melatonin, but I stopped taking them as well. Sleep was not a problem for me. Now I’ve started a new job and I need to...

Can a heart patient take Benadryl for poison ivy iching and burning?..I am unable to sleep with the iching. Can you tell me what to take?. ## Ask your doctor about Chlobetasol Proprianate. It was originally an excema cream. I swear by it. I can stand outside and if the wind blows on poison ivy, I get it. If you can use cortisone cream, you should be able to use this. It is the only thing that works for me. ## Hello, Brad! How are you doing? My cardiologist approved of my taking Benadryl, when needed, however, it can also depend on what other medications you are taking, so it is always best to check with your doctor, first. However, if you post back with the names of your other medications, I can also check for interactions for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Benadryl as p...

I tried benadryl which did help a little but is there an specific active ingredient in antihistimine that does better than others for possible drug allergies? ## my problem is seve itching on both my legs. If I put some oil or cream the itching is reduced. Some times even this won't work.At that time if I take Anti-histamine it will reduce after some time. Can you please diagonise my problem. I have one more problem. Alergic Sinusitis. Is there any connection between these two problems ## I'm sorry, but no one is going to be able to diagnose the problem and offer treatment options from just a short post on the Internet. Have you consulted a doctor? If Benadryl didn't really work, there are other antihistamines on the market, but since I don't know where you are located, ...

my mother in law gave my daughter a pill that i dont know. my daughter is 8 and sheh said it was an oval pill that was pink on one side red on the other and white in the middle. she said her grandma said it was for asthma. can you tell me what this might be? ## It sounds like the standard description of a Benadryl tablet, though I can't guarantee that without knowing the imprint, but that is what they usually look like and they work very well for asthma.

Underarms are really red and rashed from to much deorderant what to put on it? ## Hello, Chad! How are you feeling? That's not a typical reaction from just using deodorant, even if you use too much. That sounds more like an allergic reaction, which may require medical attention. Have you consulted your doctor? If they say it's safe for you to take, just some over the counter Benadryl might help. The FDA classifies it as an antihistamine and it's very commonly used to treat allergic reactions. Its typical side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and blurry vision. You will also likely need to stop using the brand of deodorant. I have a couple that I can't use, so I've found one that works and generally stick with it and try not to switch.

I use a new marry Kay night serum now one side. of my face is all red and wellped up. it stings like it's on fire and is itchy and sensitive to touch. benadryl and hydrocortisone cream aren't. working if you have any suggestions I would realty appreciate it. ## Hi Brenda, Is the marry kay night serum what caused the skin irritation to begin with, or is it something you've just been trying to treat for a while now? If the marry kay serum is what caused it, then it only makes sense to consider switching to another brand with either less ingredients or with different more natural ingredients all-together. As far as treating the skin irritations, I'd suggest lavender essential oil. It works really well for that burning sensation you mentioned, as well as for any inflammation...

Has any women had a reaction to using Clindesse vaginal cream? I am having serious itching and burning after my one dose. Have really not had time to go back to the doctor due to work issues but I think I am going to have to. ## YES! The same thing happened to me. I will never take this medicine again. It turned an annoying BV itch into a burning horrible itch. I finally had to douche this medicine out. ## The itching is a normal side effect of this medication. ## My doctor said that extreme itching and burning is not normal and indicates an allergic reaction. She explained that slight irritation is the common side effect that the manufacturer describes. Basically, if you itch worse than you did with BV- this medication is not for you. She put me on a regimen of icepacks and Benadryl un...

Hi, I've been taking Cetirizine 10mg and I take two because I find just the one doesn't really work. The two just takes the edge off... Anyway, I've got these three pills left over in another box for some reason. They are white, round and about the size of a pea. On one side it has the capital letter A and on the other side is a line straight through the middle; I don't know if that's just there for it to be split easier in half or not... Can anyone please tell me whether it is the Cetirizine 10mg or not? It would be much appreciated. I think Benadryl is the best allergy relief tablet even though the doctors say the same ingredient that is in Cetirizine is in Benadryl, but sorry I can definitely tell the difference, thanks xx

Does anybody know any prescription strength sleep aids that are stronger than Melatonin? I have been using at least 10 mg Melatonin a night at bedtime for a few years but it isn’t working like it used to. Keep in mind this is when needed and I would talk to my doctor about this once I have a list related towards this. ## I am 89 and have used Ambien, 5 mg. dose for years, with no bad side effects. It gently brings on a sleepy feeling and usually lasts thru the night. A slight hazy feeling in the a.m. lasts for about an hour but that's all. I am prescribed norco 10/325 and it makes me sick to my stomach and itch. Although it does help with my pain i have to take phenergan for nausea anytime i take one and benadryl for the itching. Are there any meds that would help with my pain but not make me nauseous or itch? ## Those are possible side effects of all opiate pain medications. The only thing you can really do is try various ones, as approved by your doctor, to see if you find one that doesn't cause you such issues. Have you ever taken Percocet? It contains Oxycodone with Acetaminophen and works great for some people. The FDA does warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
