Trying to go down on being pill dependent. I stop cold turkey went 9 day's the 1st time I tried. It wasn't pretty my hold body was in shock. 2nd time trying to go without now, just take half my pill instead 2 times a day it's working but body is not happy and seem like my blood is on fire, bad headache, sweats, stomach hurts in different parts. Now my side hurt on left back side lower side. I kw this crappie hurts but Dr said I will have to take rest of my life. I not going to be pill dependent anymore. So I've been on 10mg 5 times a day. Ready 4 this??? 8 years. 8 long years been on them. So it's been 15 days been taken only 1 pill a day half in morning then only half when body has to have it. So how long does it take. I've only been taking subs for the last 2 days roughly at maybe 8-10mg for those couple of days. How long should I wait until I take oxycodone to make sure the effects actually work. I have no other history with suboxone and the last time I took any oxycodone was a little over 2 weeks ago. I would say my metabolism is above average. However, I just don't want to waste the 15mg of oxycodone that I do have. I take 10mg oxycodone every 8 hrs as needed for pain it is pink, round has a 12 on one side an N P on the other. I've been on this dose for about 18 months and most of the time it works great for my chronic lower back pain. Sometimes tho my pain level jumps to a ten and I still have 4 hrs before my next dose. It's unbearable! Can I take my dose any sooner when that happens? ## You should only take the amount prescribed by your doctor, especially if you aren't tolerant to narcotics. I am a vet from the war that has no end in sight, I am not special just a soldier like many of you out there. I was shot in the right shoulder and it came out my chest. I was very lucky. Am I crazy!? I just switched from Percs 7.5-500 to Percs 10-325 and I feel it doesn't work near the same at all. The 7.5-500 made me more pain free, and more chipper. The 10's just make me feel dazed and dizzy! Could the acetaminophen actually help that much more? So confused. Tempted to ask to go back to 7.5. My dr switched to Oxycodone this month 20 mg. I actually agreed to 10 mg, insurance agreed only to 20mg. I’ve been taking them and I do not like them. I get nauseated and feel weird after taking them. I don’t know why Dr switched? I feel I’m not getting control of my pain as I did with Oxycodone. 12 hours is terrible waiting out! ## If your getting nauseous and feel weird the dose may be too high for you. I have 3 levels of herniated Lower Lumbar discsw which need replacing with prodisc but my insurance doesn't cover it. I was on Morphine for almost a decade and I am in constant pain. I work as much as possible but it is very physical work that I do so I need to get back onto some form of pain treatment which I haven't had in about 1 1/2 years now. I was taking 2 white 5mg oxycodone IR tabs 2x/day but they were only partially useful in reducing my pain. My doctor reluctantly prescribed 2 pink 10 mg oxycodone IR (= 20mg) tabs every 12 hours. The number 048 is on these tabs. I have had them for three days now and I am taking them as prescribed, but they do not seem to work nearly as well as the former 5mg white tabs.
