How Long Does First Dose Of Suboxone Block

5 Topics Found

I just started taking the suboxone...8 mg 3 times a day. I took my first strip. I've taken all three yesterday the last one at around 7 pm. I'm wondering if I take my pill of choice, since I've barely started, will it block it? I was coming off of self medicating myself with methadone for 8 years. I hear that some people get different effects from taking the subs, but it's like taking a super ibuprofen for me. Any info on this would be helpful and I'm a big girl so I only need the facts not the lectures please and thank you. ## Hello, Hazel! How are you? The Buprenorphine in Suboxone has a much stronger hold on your opiate receptors than other narcotics, so it would prevent them from having any effect. That coupled with the Naloxone means that you'd just be wasti...

I took half of a strip of Suboxone 8mg/2mg. This is the first and only time I have ever given it a try. I was told that it helps ppl get off of opiates, but works better than an opiate. So I figure that it would help with the pain I have. It was described to me as being a lil bit of a stronger dose of the hydrocodone 10mgs that I get prescribed to me. After about an hour of having taken it, I began to feel pain in my back that I haven't felt since I started pain management and was prescribed lortab 10's. So I looked up more info on Suboxone and found out that it is a pain blocker, which makes sense of why I began to feel pain after taking it. My question is...how long do I need to wait to take my lortab 10mg so I can lessen my back pain? Oh...and now that I know what Suboxone re...

I have been on Zubsolv, Suboxone, of all doses, for years now. I have reached the point to where my Zubsolv will take literally hours to dissolve and once it finally does dissolve to some extent..enough for me to swallow at least, I have no way of getting it to completely dissolve. So I have to eat with the medicine still very much still in my mouth and throat. Despite using extra water, to try and help the process along, etc. This takes up a great deal of my mornings. Plus I have crohns disease and have much difficulty swallowing in the first place. So I'm simply unable to get anything down. All the way or even more than just past my throat. I have diarrhea as well with this medication and have had many bowel blockages that I have no doubt are due in part to the way the swallowed Z...

WHICH IS BETTER? I have been on a dose of 150mg of Methadone for approx. 8 or so years. I just recently heard of this drug Buprenorphine which is taken instead of Methadone. Does anyone know if this line of treatment is better or worse than Methadone treatment for Opiate Addicts such as myself? Thank You Very Much ## I used to be addicted to oxycontins, I started taking methadone but figured it wasnt any better for me than the oxy's. The buprenorphine is probably a better way for you to go. I am now on suboxone. They started me off with a med called subutex and you take it for the first three days and then they switch you to suboxone they are two different meds. One blocks only one receptor and the other blocks both. To get high, you need these two receptors to be open to feel the d...

I've been taking Suboxone for few months eight milligrams through a doctor to stop heroin an opiate withdrawal now I have leukemia my body is shutting down and getting a lot of pain the doctors on collagist since he will have to put me on heavy pain meds since to tell you the truth I am dying so now how do I do the transfer some suboxin to hospice pain meds ## First, I'm very sorry about your condition. You hang tough and fight! Suboxone has a half life of 24-60hrs, which means it will continue to block opioid medications for 2-3 days after your last dose. It does have some analgesic value so hopefully it will help your pain a bit while you wait. Once again I'm sorry this happened to you and I will include you in my prayers tonight. God bless ## Thank you so much I have been...
