i took three doses of methadone to taper down from from opiates. day one: 25 mg, day two: 20 mg, day three: 15 mg it has been 50 hours since i have taken any methadone and dont plan on taking anymore. im feeling fine except not sleeping, so my main question is with the amount of methadone i have in me which at a 50% half life i should be at 7.5mg or less ... will it be safe to take .50mg of xanax to sleep? i just read a lot of bad things about this, my gut says the reason bad things happen are when people are abusing the two. I have been taking Xanax off and on for about 7 months and lately I have only been taking .25 mg like twice a week. I want to stop taking Xanax all together but everytime I wait like 3 to 4 days I start feeling extreme anxiety and I feel like I need to take some Xanax. And I only take .25mg. Is this anxiety because I am going through withdraws? How can I stop taking Xanax all together and not experience anyone withdrawal symptoms? Anyone have any advice on what I should do? I had a cardiac ablation in 2014. Had three episodes since then. My cardiologist prescribed Xanax. When I feel as if I might be going to have an episode, I take 1/4 th extra of 25 mg metoprolol along with 1 Xanax. It has been successful in staving off any episodes. I haven't used that many. When I tried filling my script, it had expired. His new practitioner is telling me, my cardiologist can legally only prescribe Xanax just once in MA. My pain Mgmt. doc. stopped giving me dilaudid 2mg, 5 times a day and fioricet 2 times a day as my urine always came back negative. I have been switching from lexapro to prozac.. started with 5mg. Lexapro n 10 mg.. So far I am feeling good. almost finished with starter pack of viibryd 40 mg. I had side effects while on the 20.mg. But they have gone away. Dizziness,nauesea,stomach issues,insomnia,increased anxiety,and headaches are gone. I have greatly reduced anxiety and depression. And have went from taking 4 .25mg. Of xanax daily,to one xanax in the morning for my drive to work,if i'm off that day, I won't take any. Also, I would get horribly depressed during PMS. Time. Currently having PMS,but only have mild sadness and cramps.
